1988 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Woody / No Reserve on 2040-cars
Chesterfield, Virginia, United States
THIS IS A 1988 JEEP WAGONEER THAT WAS HEADED TO THE JUNK YARD BEFORE I RESCUED IT. I've had several of these Jeeps and hate to see them crushed. Although I have not driven it more than a few blocks, the Jeep does runs and drive and stop and the transmission seems to shift properly. It was last inspected in 2011 so it will need at least the following if you are going to make it a daily driver: Exhaust system, wiper motor, maybe tires. All lights are functioning, heat works, a/c blows warm. The truck has some rust. Most of the woodgrain is in decent condition with the tailgate being the worst. The only power window working is the driver side door. Interior is in fair condition. Radio, rear window switch and rear window defrost switch are missing. Truck has a new battery and new starter and always starts right up. If you purchase this, I suggest you trailer it due to the exhaust leak and unknown overall condition. I have a clear title. Please do not bid unless you plan on purchasing the Jeep. This is a no reserve auction so bid to own. Truck is in the Richmond VA area and is available for inspection prior to bidding. |

Jeep team takes a field trip to Wagonmaster; researching next Grand Wagoneer?
Fri, 01 Feb 2013
They have the very best intentions of rolling out a seven-passenger vehicle.
Wagonmaster has made a name for itself restoring and selling factory-perfect Jeep Grand Wagoneer models, bridging the gap between when the last production machine rolled off the line in 1991 and present day. The company's efforts haven't gone unnoticed. The entire Jeep product planning team took a little field trip to the company's facility in Kerrville, Texas back in December, and they weren't just there to take in the sights. According to owner Leon Miller's son, Chip Miller, the Jeep team was there to do research for the successor to the Grand Wagoneer throne.
Jeep Cherokee finally dealer-bound
Tue, 22 Oct 2013We had our First Drive of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee last month, but it appears that prospective buyers won't have too much longer to finally get time behind the wheel of the new small Jeep.
Automotive News is reporting that after a two-month delay, Jeep dealers will finally start receiving their first shipments of the new Cherokee, in the next 10 days. A Chrysler spokesperson confirmed to Autoblog that the Cherokee is indeed on its way to Jeep dealers.
According to AN, about 23,000 Cherokees have been built since production commenced back in June, but potential powertrain issues forced Jeep to make adjustments to the Cherokee along the way. Automotive News says that in order to make sure there are no issues with the Cherokee before it reaches customers, it is testing each vehicle after it rolls off the assembly line at a rented test track near the vehicle's Toledo North Assembly Plant.
Chrysler earns $1.7B in 2012, revises product plans for US
Wed, 30 Jan 2013Hot on the heels of Ford's earnings announcement for the year that was, Chrysler today reported a 2012 net income of $1.7 billion, up substantially from the comparatively minuscule $183 million profit earned in 2011 when it repaid its US government loans.
Chrysler's good year ended with an excellent fourth quarter that saw net income rise 68 percent from $225 million in 2011 to $378 million. Where are all those extra earnings coming from? Market share, which Chrysler saw increase to 11.4% last year on sales of 1.65 million vehicles. In fact, the Auburn Hills, MI-based automaker out-paced the industry's market growth of 13 percent last year with sales up 21 percent for the year.
The company also revealed an updated product plan for its Chrysler Group and Fiat brands that looks all the way out to 2016. It's an updated version of the plan introduced in 2009 shortly after Fiat took control of the American automaker, and includes such new additions as an Alfa Romeo model, likely the 4C, to be introduced in the US this year, as well five more Alfa models by 2016. Likewise, Fiat will be growing by an additional seven models in the coming few years.
