Uncle Bought this brand new in Oregon and willed it to the "Kids". It was his pride and Joy. Runs as good as it looks. All Original. Clean. Clean. Clean. ONE FAMILY OWNER.
The four wheel drive system works just as it should. With a flip of a switch the drive train goes to full 4x4 mode. The strong 360 CID V8 fires right up with just a few pumps of the gas pedal. The three-speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly, just like it should, with NO slippage. There’s a tilt steering column, power door windows, air conditioning and power steering. I believe the front disk brakes/rotors have a few hundred miles on them. All four factory alloy wheels are wrapped with 235/75R15 radials. It really is a blast to drive ! The upholstery is unfaded
and sound both front and back. There are
NO cracks in the dash cover. The matching
original burgandy carpets are in very, very good condition including the rear cargo area
and on the fold-down rear tailgate. All
of the door panels have stood the test of time and are in excellent condition. You’ll be quite impressed with the dash gauges. Tailgate Window works by switch or key ! About the only issues are: the A/C is disconnected and doesn’t blow
cold (likely just a recharge – the heater is great though), No use for it in North West and he wanted better mileage. Needs a belt and Re-Charge. Dodge muscle cars, armored Jeep to star in Furious 7 [w/video]
Wed, Mar 11 2015We're less than a month away from the smorgasbord of speed, stunts and shooting that is Furious 7, and it arrives in theaters on April 3 as one of the first big films of the year. Starring Fast and Furious regulars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, plus Jason Statham as the big villain, this entry looks to be another exciting addition to the franchise. With such a major movie that features cars as much as the actors, it shouldn't be a surprise that an automaker is getting in on the action as a promotional partner. FCA US supplied nearly 30 vehicles for the film, including prominent roles for a 2015 Dodge Charger, Challenger R/T and armored Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. To really play up the connection, the automaker has laid out a global advertising campaign featuring its models. The marketing includes a variety of unique spots with the cars appearing online and in music videos. Among them in the US is a TV ad called Flash to the Future (embedded below) for the Challenger. Consumer Reports digs Mazda3, disses Jeep Cherokee
Tue, 11 Feb 2014Consumer Reports has just rendered its verdict on two of the more important cars to launch this year - the Mazda3 and the Jeep Cherokee. Considering the value a "Recommended" rating carries with the public and the viciously competitive markets these two cars compete in, Consumer Reports' view could have some impact on their initial success.
For Mazda, that's a good thing. CR spoke quite highly of the Zoom-Zoom brand's compact sedan and hatch, testing both models, and citing the excellent fuel economy and snickety-snack manual shifter as high points. Downsides to the 3 included a ride that is agile but "nervous," a bit too much noise and a cramped back seat. Still, the 3 was good enough to earn its place in the ranks of the "Recommended."
The Jeep didn't fare quite so well, with CR calling the polarizing CUV "half-baked." Although both engines were tested, the magazine called the 2.4-liter four-pot underpowered and its nine-speed automatic unrefined and unresponsive. That's particularly damning, considering the 9AT's role in future Chrysler products, including the extremely important 200. Overall, the Cherokee missed out on the coveted "Recommended" rating.
2014 Jeep Patriot and Compass ditch CVT for six-speed auto
Mon, 07 Jan 2013It was reported in Automotive News a few months ago, but a new report on Allpar.com adds some details to news that the 2014 Jeep Compass and Patriot will get a six-speed automatic to replace the CVTs they currently use. According to a tip provided to Allpar, the 2014 models will begin production in March and be on sale sometime in the summer. The Jatco-sourced CVT in use until now - Jatco is owned by Nissan and Mitsubishi - has been often criticized, and many won't be sad to see it go.
The incoming six-speed automatic is said to be an all-wheel-drive cog-swapper that's the work of Hyundai and Magna and has been paired with the DynaMax AWD system used in the Hyundai ix35 and Kia Sportage. It won't be the only Chrysler product using a transmission with ties to Hyundai: the six-speed automatic in the Dodge Dart comes from Powertech, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hyundai. With the Patriot and Compass said to be driving down the trail for the last time this year, it will be a short run for the new tranny and the rumored addition of a backup camera and power rear liftgate on the Compass.
