1987 Jeep Grand Wagoneer Silver With Cordovan Interior 108000 Miles Must See on 2040-cars
Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States
1987 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. One of the most iconic American vehicles, and seen in countless film and television shows. This wagon is in near mint condition for a 26 year old car. The paint and wood trim is original and looks great. Still shines. The Cordovan red interior is spotless and the seats were kept under wool covers for much of its life. I purchased the vehicle in February 2012, from a collector in Colorado. He had the jeep in a garage, and only drove it a few times a year between his home and farm. Selling due to new job which has me on the road more, and requires a truck bed. So don't want to put a bunch of miles and wear and tear on a great vehicle.
The previous owner was unsure what work had been done in this Wagon, he was an older gentlemen and was having health issues in his family. Everything in the engine compartment is clean, and it looks like he had definitely had the motor gone over, but to what extent I am not sure. If you are interested, I have the name of the shop who did the work and had some sort of working relationship with the previous owner, and they can at least tell you something about the quality of Jeeps he owned over the years. Purchased with 103,000 miles, currently has 108,000. Starts every time, and I drive it about 4-5 days a week around town with the occasional highway trip. Drove it from Colorado last January, and was able to go 70-80mph the whole way, and averaged about 15 mpg. Even on the coldest days only needs a couple cranks to get going and warms up fast. On the hottest days, the air blows cold and the motor stays at good temps too. The jeep is mechanically very sound, and was worked on by a well known shop in the Denver, Colorado area. The previous owner had his wagons work done with the shop, and they confirmed the quality of the previous owners Wagons, so I felt assured in my purchase. All electrical works. Power locks, windows, seats and interior lights. Brakes stop like they should. Oil was changed a few months after my purchase, and is still clean. Has a new sound system with hands free bluetooth. 4 new Boston Acoustic mid speakers, 10" subwoofer with amp, and a great head unit with bluetooth and all the modern stuff for connecting your phone and music. Has a few road chips from 26 years of driving, the headliner is starting to sag in the front. But other than that, the Wagon is in amazing condition. I have been consistently told it is one the nicest people have came across. Sad to let her go, but need something I don't feel bad about putting miles on. Asking $17,000 obo. Don't miss your chance to own a daily driver quality Grand Wagoneer. There aren't many of this condition and they are becoming more and more collectible. Contact me for more questions |

Key-swapping thieves steal Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT from FL dealer
Sat, 09 Nov 2013Just a few weeks back, we reported on the theft of an Audi RS5 by a pair of creative thieves who managed to swipe the car's keys when the salesperson stepped away from their desk. Now, a Florida dealership is missing a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 after some crooks switched the Jeep's keys with an identical, non-functioning set.
According to the report from local NBC affiliate WPTV, the men went in and spoke to a dealer about the Jeep. They walked outside, took a look at it, started it up and in the process managed to switch out the fobs. After doing their time with the salesperson, the thieves walked back out to the car, got in and drove away.
"I mean obviously, the way it was done, I think that they were professionals and they knew what they were doing," said Arrigo Jeep General Manager Joe Tufo. "The fact that they did it in broad daylight and switched the key fob and it was like it was nothing. That's what makes it unique," he added.
FCA CEO Mike Manley will run Americas for Stellantis after PSA merger
Sun, Dec 20 2020DETROIT — Fiat Chrysler CEO Mike Manley will run operations in the Americas when his company merges with FranceÂ’s PSA Peugeot early next year. FCA Chairman John Elkann announced ManleyÂ’s new post on Friday in a letter to employees. ManleyÂ’s role in the merged company had been a mystery. PSA CEO Carlos Tavares will run the overall company, to be named Stellantis. Shareholders of both companies will vote on the merger Jan. 4 to seal the deal creating the worldÂ’s fourth-largest automaker. The merger is expected to be completed by the end of March. PSA will get six seats on the new companyÂ’s 11-member board, which will be chaired by Elkann. The Americas, especially the U.S., are key to the new companyÂ’s success. Fiat ChryslerÂ’s Jeep and Ram brands are highly profitable, and Tavares has long wanted to sell PSA vehicles in the U.S. Manley has been the Italian-American automakerÂ’s CEO for 2 1/2 years, taking over when Sergio Marchionne died in 2018. Stellantis will have the capacity to produce 8.7 million cars a year, just behind Volkswagen, the Renault-Nissan alliance and Toyota. Ward's releases 10 Best Interiors list for 2014
Thu, 10 Apr 2014While we're still a ways off from the automotive awards season proper, where things like North American Car and Truck of the Year, Motor Trend's Car of the Year and Car and Driver's Ten Best are named, that doesn't mean there aren't trophies being handed out to deserving automakers. Ward's 10 Best Interiors being one of them.
As the name might imply, the magazine focuses on the very best interior treatments in the US market. Whereas some awards purposely exclude extreme, high-dollar offerings, Ward's considers them - the only requirement is that a vehicle has a "new or significantly redesigned interior."
Ward's offered up the list of winners in simple, alphabetical order, and it only seems fair to do the same:
