Up for auction is an incredibly well maintained and CLEAN 1987 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. EVERYTHING works on this car and it is very original, yet has many practical upgrades making it easier to enjoy for the modern driver. The car has 171,000 miles on it and is an incredibly strong & smooth running car.
This car was purchased new from Colorado AMC JEEP, Inc. in Denver, Colorado by a couple in Littleton, CO. According to ownership records, it remained in Colorado (between Littleton, Aurora and Ft. Collins) until 2006. Judging by the extreme rust-free undercarriage and frame (see pictures) i was told that the previous owners used it only as a summer car for going to the "lake".

This is not a perfect car by any means, it has numerous touch-ups around the car, but it is a heck of a "10-footer" that gets tons of attention everywhere she goes. People can't believe how well preserved it is, especially when I tell them it's unrestored. The glass all around the car is in great condition - no scratches or cracks anywhere. Just 1-2 tiny chips a tad larger than a pin-head (don't obstruct visibility or anything, really have to look to find them)

There is 1 spot on the car that has significant rust in the lower/underside portion of the RH Quarter panel.
There are a few other spots on the car that have either bubbling/missing paint, but overall aren't terribly distracting from the beauty of the car.. again this is not a $35,000 Wagonmaster car and my reserve is set very reasonably. Also each front corner of each front fender have had larger areas of touch-up performed (prior to my ownership) as seen in pictures/video.

Major maintenance completed include the following:
At 129,000 Miles:
Transmission professionally rebuilt w/new torque converter ect.
New Power Steering Pump Installed

At 135,000 Miles:
Carburetor Rebuilt

2012-2014:
Air Conditioning system converted/upgraded to the R-134 system
Ignition system upgraded to the new TFI system (Starts great, better fuel efficiency, Horsepower & Torque)
With TFI upgrade came new distributor cap & rotor (larger style), & new MSD Premium wires
New ignition coil
New Spark Plugs
New Aluminum Radiator
Alternator overhauled by alternator specialist
2 window zippers replaced
Brake fluid flush
New right front brake caliper
New rear wheel brake cylinders
New Headliner professionally installed with new factory fabric (Extra material comes with car)
JVC Bluetooth Radio professionally installed with HandsFree mic over rearview mirror. Syncs with your iPhone or Android ect for handsfree talking/Pandora/Aux input. Works great! I do have the original cassette/radio to go with car.
New speakers installed (original covers still installed to maintain original look)

Records/receipts of regularly servicing transmission and transfer case which support why the car drives great for it's mileage.

Video: I will try to put up a video I made (forgive me for my lack of camera skills) or if it's not good quality, but should help illustrate the condition of car. If you don't see the video posted here, please message me and I will try to put it up on Youtube and send you a link.

EVERYTHING WORKS: All 5 power windows including tailgate window which works perfect by either the switch up front on dash, or the key operation in the tailgate.
4X4, Cruise Control, All gauges including gas gauge function perfectly. Bluetooth radio works perfect, Air Conditioning and heat works perfect.

This car starts incredibly easily even cold and goes right into the choke high-idle and once it is given 20 seconds or so to warm up, just tap the pedal and it goes into a normal idle and you're ready for non-stalling driving!
This car drives, stops and accelerates great as it should. The power steering works perfectly, the car stops great (no grinding or pulsing when applying brakes, and stays straight) and this car has POWER! it really accelerates well and i have driven other wagoneers, maybe it's the TFI upgrade, but even at 50MPH, when you add fuel it really accelerates great and smoothly. The transmission works and shifts perfectly as it should, no slipping or timing issues or late/early shifting.

On May-04-14 at 18:34:30 PDT, seller added the following information:

Also- I do have the original AMC Jeep owner's booklet with even the original cassette tape intact and original owners manual.  If you have any questions, please email me and I will try to answer any questions as promptly as possible. Buyer is responsible for all shipping/delivery expenses but I can help arrange anything locally here for pick-up as needed. Also- You'll see in the pictures that the back right armrest is not attached to the door panel. I do have it, just needs to be re-attached. Good Luck Bidding! Feds accuse Fiat Chrysler, UAW of conspiring to break labor laws

Wed, Jun 13 2018

DETROIT — Top officials of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and the United Auto Workers union conspired to violate U.S. labor laws, federal prosecutors alleged in a court document, saying a former executive at the automaker knew bribes paid to union leaders were designed to "grease the skids" in labor negotiations. U.S. Justice Department officials for the first time called the company and the union "co-conspirators" in a document related to a guilty plea agreed by former Fiat Chrysler director of employee relations Michael Brown. The document was filed with the U.S. District Court in Detroit on May 25. Its contents were reported by the Detroit News on Wednesday. Brown pleaded guilty to one count of concealing a felony. The plea agreement stated that he knew Fiat Chrysler executives authorized $1.5 million in improper payments and travel, liquor, cigars and other goods for UAW officials who served on the union's negotiating committee. Prosecutors say FCA executives paid UAW representatives to influence union business. including collective bargaining on contracts ratified in 2011 and 2015. The government contends money was run through the UAW-Chrysler National Training Center, via false charitable donations and training center credit cards. Fiat Chrysler Chief Executive Officer Sergio Marchionne has said in the past that the misconduct "had nothing whatsoever to do with the collective bargaining process" and the "egregious acts were neither known to nor sanctioned" by the company. Fiat Chrysler had no further comment Monday. Outgoing UAW President Dennis Williams told union leaders at a conference in Detroit on Monday "our leadership team had no knowledge of the misconduct — which involved former union members and former auto executives — until it was brought to our attention by the government." Brown pleaded guilty on May 25, according to court documents, and will be sentenced on Sept. 20. Five other people have pleaded guilty in the government's ongoing investigation into the UAW and Fiat Chrysler, including the wife of a late UAW official, two other former UAW employees, former Fiat Chrysler vice president Alphons Iacobelli and another former Fiat Chrysler employee. Marchionne defends FCA recalls, says Wrangler won't be all-aluminum

Fri, May 22 2015

FCA CEO Sergio Marchionne recently received the 2015 Industry Leadership Award from the SAE Foundation. While speaking with the press after the event, the boss discussed his thoughts about some key issues regarding the company's future. One of the big regulatory issues facing FCA at the moment is the upcoming public hearing by the National Highway Traffic Safety into the automaker's handling of 20 recalls. Marchionne has no intention of testifying there, according to The Detroit News. The CEO also thinks that the government regulator is becoming much more aggressive in how it handles safety campaigns, but the Feds aren't necessarily doing a very good job of communicating that. "We need to work with the agency in a very cooperative and open way to make sure that we can meet their requirements for their new stance," he said, according to the newspaper. "We have no option but to comply with their requirements and we will. I have nothing to hide in this process. I just want clear rules." Marchionne also dropped the news that the company has changed its mind about making the next Jeep Wrangler totally from aluminum. "Because of the difference in cost, not just the new material but the actual assembly process, I think we can do almost as well without doing it all-aluminum," he said to The Detroit News. This seemingly opens the door for the model to remain in production in Toledo, OH, but only just a crack. Marchionne says that the new Wrangler would still use a large amount of aluminum, and there are "at least" two sites in contention for the assembly. The company doesn't have too long to make a decision because the model reportedly launches in 2017.

Toledo mayor, Jeep champion Michael Collins dies from heart attack

Mon, Feb 9 2015

The city of Toledo is mourning the loss of its mayor and the campaign to keep production of the Jeep Wrangler in the Ohio city has lost a champion after Michael Collins suffered a heart attack behind the wheel recently. Born, raised and educated in Toledo, Collins was a Marine Corps veteran and a city councilor. He was elected mayor in 2013 and assumed office on January 2, 2014, a little over a year ago. He was driving an SUV provided by the city in a snow storm on February 1 of this year when he suffered a heart attack and crashed into a utility pole. He remained in critical condition for days until he was taken off artificial life-support. During his relatively short term in office, Collins became an outspoken and energetic advocate of keeping the Jeep plant in Toledo, where it has been assembled for decades. The next-generation Wrangler is set to switch to aluminum construction, which could lead to moving its production to another location, but Collins (alongside Governor John Kasich and others) had worked hard to convince FCA US to keep it in town. Whether his efforts will prove successful remains to be seen, but our hearts go out to his friends, family and constituents. Michael is survived by his wife Sandy, three daughters and eight grandchildren. He was 70 years old.
