My loss is your gain

I’m selling this Jeep which I bought almost 2 years ago as a fun project. I really got into the Wagoneer thing and bought a few other Wagoneers, fixed them up and really had a lot of fun. But, things have changed in my life and I’m moving and getting out of this hobby. So, I got rid of the other Jeeps which were much less of projects. This was the one I poured my heart and soul into and, too bad, it’s still not done.

But, I need to get rid of it.

So, it’s a 1983 Jeep Wagoneer that had a lot of body rust when I got it. Floors were bad too. I’ve fixed all of that, but not professionally. It’s all in good shape now. All the major mechanicals work fine. New brakes, new exhaust, new battery, new spark plug wires and more, I’m sure.

You can see I went for a different look that the traditional Woody. I think it looks kind of mean and 4 wheeler type, but you judge for yourself. I left out the back seat, but I have one for you.
The odometer shows just over 80,000 and I have no reason to doubt, but I can’t verify either. It runs so good, that I think the mileage is right. Very strong.

There are several things that still need to be done, like minor electrical things. Turn signals, dome lights, some switches, power mirrors, etc. I bought a new radio and some friends who know a lot more than I do, tried to install it, but they are stuck. So, it’s all there, plus the old one. Some type of power or ground issue.

Needs a headliner and I have 2 of the cardboard backings that you can use if you get the material.

I have hundreds to thousands of other Jeep parts that I’d like to sell with the Jeep. Some you may need. Window motors, fuses, relays, switches, etc. 2 complete sets of woody trim, which is hard to find and expensive (one set would need some touch up and the other is in really good shape.) Door panels, headliners, gas tank, wheels, etc., etc. If you are a Jeep guy, especially Grand Wagoneers, you will need these or know other guys you can give or sell to.I have many more pics of parts.

And, if you want to take the time to list on EBay or Craig’s List, there is a lot of extra money here. I just need to move on and sell all of this.

Jeep gives a trio of customs an encore showing at SEMA

Wed, 05 Nov 2014

While Jeep certainly had some new customs on display at this year's SEMA show, it wasn't afraid to recycle a few that people might have missed from earlier this year. The maker of many beloved off-roaders already displayed the Jeep Cherokee Dakar, Maximum Performance Wrangler and Wrangler Mojo at the 2014 Easter Safari, but they all made it to SEMA for an encore.
Based around the Trailhawk, the Cherokee Dakar (pictured above) imagines an even more off-road-capable version of the crossover. The concept wears a mix of Silver Steel Stain paint with Flame Red graphics and rides on 17-inch wheels wrapped in 33-inch BFGoodrich Mud Terrain tires. To back up the rugged look, the Dakar is fitted with rock rails and skid plates protecting the oil pan, front suspension, fuel tank and other underbody parts. It also sports prototype parts from Jeep Performance Parts, including a lift kit and fender flares.
The Wrangler is one of the paragons of off-roading, and as the name suggests, the Maximum Performance Wrangler concept is meant to be the ultimate example of what it can do. The custom features locking Dana 60 axles front and rear, a 4:1 Rock-Trac transfer case, prototype 4-inch lift kit and 37-inch Mud Terrain tires over beadlock wheels. To stay on the trails well into the night, a bar of LEDs is mounted above the windshield. And finally, the Mopar Blue exterior kind of makes the vehicle look like the world's toughest blueberry.

Jeep Begins Fixing 1.56 Million Recalled Grand Cherokee, Liberty SUVs

Tue, Jan 14 2014

Chrysler is just now beginning the big job of fixing 1.56 million older Jeep SUVs seven months after a recall was announced, according to The Detroit News. Jeep Grand Cherokees sold between 1992 and 1998 and Jeep Liberty models sold between 2002 and 2007 are being recalled because the gas tank can leak in the event of a rear-end collision, leading to a fire. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration originally requested the recall of 2.7 million vehicles. Chrysler initially disputed NHTSA's findings and seemed willing to go through a court battle until an 11th-hour deal reduced the number of vehicles involved in the recall. The remaining vehicle owners left out of the recall will receive a "customer service action" notification and may not get fixed. Chrysler says the vehicles are safe and need no repairs. Fixing the 1.56 million Jeeps will cost Chrysler $151 million. NHTSA cited 51 deaths causes by such tank fires. Chrysler plans to install protective trailer hitches to protect the gas tanks, but even the automaker admits the hitches will only provide incremental protection in a low-to-moderate speed rear-end crash. Key-swapping thieves steal Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT from FL dealer

Sat, 09 Nov 2013

Just a few weeks back, we reported on the theft of an Audi RS5 by a pair of creative thieves who managed to swipe the car's keys when the salesperson stepped away from their desk. Now, a Florida dealership is missing a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 after some crooks switched the Jeep's keys with an identical, non-functioning set.
According to the report from local NBC affiliate WPTV, the men went in and spoke to a dealer about the Jeep. They walked outside, took a look at it, started it up and in the process managed to switch out the fobs. After doing their time with the salesperson, the thieves walked back out to the car, got in and drove away.
"I mean obviously, the way it was done, I think that they were professionals and they knew what they were doing," said Arrigo Jeep General Manager Joe Tufo. "The fact that they did it in broad daylight and switched the key fob and it was like it was nothing. That's what makes it unique," he added.
