Meet Miss. Penny! Extremely original 1982 Jeep Wagoneer. 82998.9 original miles. Has a very strong running 258 c.i. straight six motor, automatic transmission, and four wheel drive with manual locking hubs. Brand new tires, battery, distributor cap, rotor, spark plugs and wires, new muffler. Brake pads have approximately 100 miles on them. Air Conditioner works, needs to be recharged. The jeep is original in every other way. Paint, interior trim, mechanics, hoses etc. Every thing works including the original am/fm push button radio. Roll up windows and manual door locks. There is a minor scratch next to the front bumper on the passenger side. about a nickel size bubble in the paint on the rear tail gate, and some "orange peel" behind the drivers side rear door. A small tear in the head liner above the rear window. The weather stripping around the windows needs to be replaced. this vehicle is in excellent shape for being 30 plus years old. It has NOT been restored, repainted or otherwise altered. Only the things necessary to maintain its drivability have been replaced. Many of the original manufacturers stickers are still in place around the engine compartment. I have retained the original plug wires dated 1981 as well.This vehicle has been stored and covered in a garage for the past 7 years, driven approximately 200 miles a year. Jeep Wrangler Mojo and Cherokee Dakar teased ahead of Moab Easter Safari
Wed, 02 Apr 2014Jeep has an annual tradition of debuting wild, new concepts during its Easter Jeep Safari, and this year looks to be no different. The automaker has already confirmed two of the six vehicles for 2014 - the Cherokee Dakar (pictured above) and Wrangler Mojo. This year's event runs in Moab, Utah, from April 12-20.
There are no official details about either of the concepts yet - Jeep will release more info on the new models next week. Judging by the pictures, though, the Cherokee Dakar appears to be lifted with some knobby off-road tires. The Wrangler Mojo looks to have a bulging hood that might hide a more powerful engine underneath.
Past vehicles at the Easter Jeep Safari have included a Hemi V8-powered Wrangler, a classically inspired pickup and modernized Jeep Forward Control. Since this is the brand's chance to express itself every year, hopefully it has some more sensational concepts up its sleeve. Chrysler's Jefferson North plant builds 5-millionth SUV [w/video]
Thu, 15 Aug 2013Chrysler's Jefferson North Assembly Plant opened in 1992 for production of the first Jeep Grand Cherokee, but in the subsequent years, the Detroit plant has gone on to produce some of the company's biggest SUVs including the Jeep Commander and Dodge Durango. Earlier this week, the plant produced its five-millionth SUV, which, fittingly, was a Grand Cherokee.
Celebrating the plant's five-millionth unit, the silver 2014 Grand Cherokee was promptly donated to the USO. In addition to this milestone SUV, Chrysler also had a near-perfect 1993-95 ZJ Grand Cherokee on hand for the photo op. 25,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Durango SUVs recalled over brake feel
Mon, 10 Mar 2014Chrysler has announced that it is recalling over 25,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango SUVs from several markets over concerns about brake feel under hard braking. The affected models are from the 2012 and 2013 model years, although the actual dates of production aren't available. 18,700 are in the US, while 825 are in Canada, 530 are in Mexico and a further 5,200 outside of North America.
According to a statement, Chrysler was informed of the issue by a component supplier for the Ready Alert Braking system, which primes the brakes in anticipation of an emergency stop. A component in the system was restricting the flow of brake fluid too much.
As Chrysler is quick to point out, the way the brakes functioned was in compliance with regulations and there are no reported cases of drivers losing braking power. Instead, the issue rests with what Chrysler calls a pedal feel that "was not consistent with customer expectations." So it would seem Chrysler is being proactive and fixing a problem not because there's a legal issue at work, but simply because it doesn't feel the way the manufacturer wants it to. Well done.
