1979 Jeep Wagoneer Was My Wifes Daily Driver Take You Anywhere 4x4 No Reserve!!! on 2040-cars
Gaston, Oregon, United States
Selling my wifes Jeep Wagoner, it was her daily driver for over a year but we needed something bigger so we got an 85 Suburban that can hold 9 people so we don't really use this one anymore.. General Specs 360ci motor, heavy duty th400 transmission, quadra trac transfer case WITH selectable low gear option. A few performance upgrades include edelbrock intake and carb (it was professionally overhauled a week ago). Fresh tune up including plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel pump and both fuel filters. The truck also has a custom exhaust (sounds good but not super loud), has a two inch heavy duty trailer hitch with 7 way plug, air adjustable rear shocks and a brake controller. It also has a custome professionally made extended range gas tank, holds somewhere are 30 gallons! Custom wheels and good tires (half inch of tread left). Interior carpet was removed and was rhino lined from the front seat to the tail gate. All windows work, are clear and undamaged, including the tailgate window (it needs a little help going up however...). The headliner is decent the seats have a few tears but are fairly comfortable. All the trim is accounted for and undamaged, the paint is very good for the age of the car, no flaking or peeling just the expected amount of rock chips. Very little rust mainly two quarter sized spots on either side of the rear seat. There are three dents on the rocker panel under the doors but you have to look hard to find them, the rest of the body is in very good condition. Overall this rig is a great driver, solid upgrade platform, or keep it as the perfect hunting rig I would drive this truck anywhere at any time with no worries, I let my wife drive my 6 yr old and my 6 mo old around in it with no worries. . The bad: a few days ago the fuse for the gauges blew, I haven't had anytime to check it out, most likely a loose connection. Also the chain in the transfer case for the front axle has stretched so it rattles, mainly when accelerating hard specifically up hill. It has no effect on the 4wd system right now and dosnt affect driving the truck, its just am occasionally somewhat loud obnoxious noise (it never even happens to my wife, only when I drive it...). Also it has air conditioning but the switch is broken. Everything looks good on the ac but i have never tried to operate it... Has cruise but it doent work either never tried to figure out why. Any questions feel free to call text or email and ill get back to you shortly. Thanks, James 503-410-6382 |

Some Jeep Cherokees and Chrysler 200s to get standard stop-start in 2015
Wed, 25 Jun 2014Automakers the world over are striving to find ways to make their models more efficient, and Chrysler has a solution for some versions of the 2015 Chrysler 200 and 2015 Jeep Cherokee (2014 model shown). The Tigershark 2.4-liter four-cylinder in the 200 and the 3.2-liter Pentastar V6 in the Cherokee are getting a slight boost later this year thanks to the addition of Chrysler's Engine Stop-Start system as standard equipment. The company predicts modest gains - a three-percent improvement in fuel economy and a three percent reduction in CO2 emissions with the new tech compared to without it. While it's not much, those who sit in traffic a lot may see a difference.
Chrysler's stop/start system uses a high-speed starter motor to restart the vehicle in a claimed a third of a second. It works by detecting when the vehicle comes to a stop and turning off the engine. A more powerful battery maintains all of the model's accessories while it sits. When the driver lets off the brake, the car starts up again to drive away. There is even a button in the cabin to turn the ESS off, if desired.
The Jeep will be the first to receive ESS in the third quarter of this year to coincide with the start of production of the 2015 model-year version. The 200 will follow in the fourth quarter as a rolling change in production.
Millionth Jeep Wrangler JK to roll off line this morning
Fri, 17 May 2013According to a report on the Chrysler Communications Facebook page and one fairly grainy image of the production line, at around 11:00AM Eastern this morning, the one-millionth Jeep Wrangler JK will roll out of the company's Toledo assembly plant.
The third-generation or "JK" Jeep Wrangler has been around since the 2007 model year, and has obviously been more popular than ever. With a greater than ever number of trim levels, two-door and four-door Unlimited models and hardy off-roading Rubicon packages, the JK offers more to choose from than ever for those looking for something in a traditional Jeep. In fact, with the modern 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 powering it, the 2012 model year saw more than 140k Wrangers sold here in the US; the best-ever figure for the model.
With a model refresh due out for the Wrangler in 2015 (along with the likely addition of a diesel engine option), we expect that sales will continue to roll right along, too.
Jeep Wrangler likely to get aluminum body, will stay in Toledo
Mon, 27 Oct 2014Perhaps more than any other vehicle currently for sale in the United States, the Jeep Wrangler is viewed by purist fans as a vehicle that simply must maintain the status quo. In this case, that means a body-on-frame design, solid axles, a relatively large engine sitting up front and a removable top. It's always been that way, and it always will be.
Maybe.
According to the most recent reports, the next-generation Jeep will continue to soldier forth with a full steel chassis underneath its stamped bodywork. The biggest change, reports Automotive News, will be that said panels will be hewn from aluminum instead of steel, a seismic shift of a transition not unlike what's happened with the new Ford F-150. Because it won't be a unibody, the SUV will likely continue to be assembled in Toledo, OH as it (almost) always has been - the latter has been a source of heartburn in recent weeks for the Northwestern city in the Buckeye State.
