2008 Jeep Liberty 2wd Rare And Fun 6 Speed on 2040-cars
Rockwall, Texas, United States
1 of 1800 Jeep Liberty Sports equipped with the unique and fun 6 Speed transmission. A hoot to drive! Being able to throw her through the gears, truly brings out surprising power and great mileage. With only 88,000 actual ONE OWNER miles, this beauty will roam the highways for hundreds of thousands of miles. I had AAA Certified shop, L & D Automotive, put the Jeep through their strict 84 point inspection for any mechanical, functional, electrical, safety or aesthetic issues. All they could find was a potentially faulty computer, so they installed a new one, complete with factory warranty. All fluids, filters, wipers, belts, hoses, gaskets, pumps and harnesses were inspected, changed, upgraded or replaced. Other than a couple very small blemishes, the body is excellent. The underneath is flawless. Being a Texas Jeep, she's 100% rust free of course. at 71 years old and being a businessman all my life, I'm a great believer in never sending a potential client on a wild goose chase. Tell it like it is. NICE JEEP WITH A LOW RESERVE. Questions at 814-229-3402 Bid with confidence. Jeep is being advertised locally and could be ended early. Thank you for looking. |

China orders Jeep to investigate Wrangler fire risk
Mon, 06 Jan 2014It's been some time since we've heard anything about fires related to the Jeep Wrangler (foreign or domestic), but it sounds like the go-anywhere SUV could be in hot water once again in China. Bloomberg is reporting that the Chinese government is ordering Jeep to investigate the matter and, in the meantime, also recommending Wrangler owners to not drive their vehicles in "extreme conditions" due to a "relatively high risk" of catching on fire.
There is no indication as to how many vehicles or which model years are affected, but the previous fire problems in both the US and China - which led to investigations but no recalls - were traced back to automatic transmission fluid leaks. The article, however, does not say what the potential problem is this time around as Jeep has not released a comment on the matter. The official notice, in Chinese, can be found here.
Researchers who busted VW cheating say FCA's diesels dirty, too
Tue, Jun 13 2017The Wall Street Journal today reported on an upcoming report from West Virginia University's Center for Alternative Fuels Engines and Emissions, which is the same lab that investigated Volkswagen emissions cheating. The report, which will be released in a matter of weeks, alleges that 2014 and 2015 model year Jeep and Ram vehicles with diesel engines emit excess pollution. But it does not specify whether the company used defeat devices. Since the report discusses Jeep Grand Cherokees, and that engine is also available in the Ram 1500, it's safe to assume that one of the implicated engines is the EcoDiesel V6, a unit actually produced by VM Motori. It's unclear whether the report covers any of the Cummins engines used in heavier-duty Ram pickups. This report comes on the heels of a federal investigation into FCA's diesel vehicles. That investigation focused on the EcoDiesel engine used in 2014-2016 vehicles. The feds were seeking a fine of up to $4.6 billion. The EPA and the State of California also previously accused FCA of using a defeat device on the same vehicles back in January. FCA, for its part, alleges that the WVU study might have been commissioned by people interested in suing the company, and disputes the testing methodology, according to the WSJ. We've reached out to WVU to confirm which engines are implicated in its study and will update this post when we have more to share. Related Video: This content is hosted by a third party.
