2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee on 2040-cars
Whitesville, Kentucky, United States
It has the following factory Options:
- Harmon Kardon High Performance Audio (honestly best sound system I have every personally heard in a vehicle- and I work in the automotive business)
- Trailer Tow Group (which includes a spare tire, which while not pictured will come with the vehicle and has never been used- it was removed for the rear air suspension)
- Dual-Pane Panoramic Sunroof (MUST HAVE FEATURE)
- Black Chrome "Spider Monkey" wheels
The following are thing I did to the vehicle, their approximate cost and what they do:
- Window tint all around including entire front windshield (may not be legal in your area, I have had this on my last 8 vehicles and never had an issue, actually helps see at night due to less glare from oncoming vehicles) -$350
- Weather Tech All Weather Digital Fit mats for front, rear and cargo area (actually bought these before the Jeep and installed them as soon as I got home) great fit and great to keep it protected - $375
- GTHAUS Racing Series Midpipe and Catback exhaust. Hands down, without a question the best exhaust system for these vehicles. From quality, fit, reviews, wait time and sound. This exhaust is actually 2 exhausts in 1 and can go from quite to loud at the touch of a wireless remote! I actually have the remote and have it programmed to the factory garage door opener to be able to make it louder or quieter. I get compliments everywhere on the sound and it really changes the whole dynamics of the vehicle.... As it should at its very costly price -$3,600 (yes, I know.. my thoughts exactly and I waited 3 months for it)
- AFE Intake for better sound, throttle response and fuel mileage - $400
- Road Magnet mid level lowering springs (currently only on the front) to lower the vehicle and give it a better look and handling. Lowers the front 1" (factory adjustable suspension is not effected) -$400
- BWOODY Sway Bar endlinks. These are to help with the geometry change from lowering the SRT. Keeps everything aligned properly -$220
- BWOODY Longer Control Arms for the rear. These make it possible for proper alignment after lowering the rear and keep the rear wheels within camber spec (jeep had full front and rear alignment done at Jeep dealership after suspension upgrades -$270
- Air Ride Technologies custom rear air suspension. Rear height can be adjusted up or down via flip of switches in the rear cargo area. I went this setup for increased towing (I have a 24' enclosed car trailer I needed to tow) and this allows you to set the desired ride height as well as increase the ride height while towing and allows the SRT to increase its towing capacity from 6,200lbs to 10,000lbs - $1,200
- SRT Reflective rear hitch decal -$50
- Redline Edition factory grill rings (these are the black grill rings made by MOPAR, they are not my factory ones painted or powder coated) -$250
- DRL Override. This plug and play harness allows the LED outlined headlights to stay illuminated while driving and gives the Jeep a great look -$100
- Removed "Jeep" from front hood and "Grand Cherokee" on the sides for a cleaner look
- Trailer Brake Controller which is hooked to the factory trailer brake controller harness using no cutting or splicing -$125

2014 Jeep Cherokee configurator up and running
Fri, 09 Aug 2013Production delays aside, Jeep is steaming towards its September on-sale date for the 2014 Cherokee. The reborn midsizer's configurator has just gone live, meaning you can fiddle with different options, colors and trim levels to your heart's content.
The cheapest model available is the 4X2 Sport, which starts at a reasonable $22,995. On the high end, the Cherokee's builder allowed us to indulge our passion for ludicrously priced vehicles by outfitting the top-end Trailhawk, which already starts at $29,495, with $8,610 in options. The resulting car, which you can see above, would retail for $39,100 after the $995 destination is factored in.
Head on over to Jeep's build-it-yourself website and have a look around.

Chrysler extending production of current Dodge Avenger, Jeep Wrangler, Grand Caravan
Wed, 24 Jul 2013Are you hesitant to pull the trigger on a brand new Dodge Avenger in hopes that a new one will be coming? Well, don't hold your breath. According to The Detroit News, Chrysler will be extending production of the current Avenger sedan through the end of 2015.
Originally, we heard that the company would kill the Avenger to better focus its midsize sedan efforts on the Chrysler 200 replacement. But then new reports stated there would indeed be an Avenger successor, and that we could see it as early as next January. This Detroit News report cites supplier sources confirming the extension of Avenger production, though Chrysler has not released an official statement on the matter.
These same suppliers say that the current Jeep Wrangler will live on through mid-2018 - that's right, another five years. The Detroit News reports that a replacement for the iconic, go-anywhere Jeep was due in mid-2016.
