VERY LOW MILES 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee S Limited HEMI V8 with leather, sunroof and back-up camera. The vehicle has 37200 original miles. We are the second owners of this vehicle and my wife is a perfectionist (enough said). Fire Red with tan and black interior. The body is super clean and straight with no damage or wear. There is a clear coat on the front of the hood to prevent rock chips and there are no major scratches in the paint. The bumpers are in excellent condition with no wear. It has a factory towing package. The factory alloys are spotless clean. The undercarriage is rust and corrosion free. The interior is trimmed in tan with accenting black carpets and trim. The seats show no sign of wear. The carpets are in fabulous shape with no rips or stains. The "Jeep" weather proof floor mats are included, as well as a weathertech mat for the trunk space. The dash and door panels are in great condition and the headliner is free from wear. The cargo compartment is clean and tidy as well. 100,000 Jeep Cherokee models subject to further 9-speed recalibration
Thu, 29 May 2014It seems that the software problems with the nine-speed automatic gearbox in the Jeep Cherokee continue to mount. The programming already caused multiple development delays and even postponed the Cherokee's market launch by roughly two months. Now, Jeep has issued another recalibration to hopefully assuage unhappy drivers.
According to Automotive News, this reflash for the allegedly jerky transmission covers over 100,000 Cherokees built before May 5, but it's not technically a recall. If owners are having problems and complain to the dealer, they get the new software. Otherwise, they continue with the current version. New vehicles on dealer lots also receive the latest revision to the programming. It takes only around five minutes to install, but technicians need to take the Cherokee on a test drive to adapt the gearbox to the changes.
The Cherokee's transmission software has been problematic practically since the beginning. The Jeep plant in Toledo, OH, briefly idled its second-shift workers last year to take care of the issue. Since the launch issues for the crossover, demand has been strong. Jeep added another 1,000 temporary workers to the Toledo factory to keep up, and sales were on par with the Wrangler in just its first two months.
Jeep Wrangler gets the wide-track treatment
Mon, 07 Jan 2013When we read the tip about a Gulf-state diplomat in Rabat, Morocco who had supposedly "merged two Jeep Wranglers," we figured the two off-roaders were somehow linked front-to-back. Oh no. As you can see in the image above, taken from video of that vehicle actually traveling down the road and needing more than one lane to do it, the two Jeeps were put together side-by-side.
The seriously widebody truck is said to have six wheels, one at each corner and two in the middle. That's about all anyone seems to know about it at the moment, and that's probably enough - in these situations you know better than to ask why, just watch the video below.
