THIS VECHILE HAS BEEN A SECOND (OR THIRD!) VEHICLE FOR OUR FAMILY AND VERY RARELY EVER WAS USED AS A JEEP OR DRIVER IN BAD WEATHER. WE HAVE ALWAYS HAD A

THIS GRAND CHEROKEE HAS EVERY AVAILABLE OPTION YOU COULD GET IN 2001! (NOT SURE IF NAVIGATION WAS AVAILABLE IN '01 OR NOT...)

THE INTERIOR IS IN BEAUTIFUL SHAPE FOR THE AGE OF THE VEHICLE INCLUDING THE LEATHER SEATS AND SUN ROOF. ALL OF THE POWER OPTIONS OPERATE AS THEY SHOULD. THE

PICTURES SPEAK FOR THEM SELVES, BUT SEEING IS BELIEVEING! THIS GRAND CHEROKEE IS EVEN BETTER IN PERSON!

THE 4.7L V8 RECENTLY HAD THE TIMING CHAIN REPLACED AND WHILE EVERYTHING WAS APART THE SHOP HAD THE HEADS CHECKED FOR CRACKS/PROBLEMS AND REPLACED THE

HEAD GASKETS AND REASSEMBLED. AGAIN THIS IS A VERY WELL MAINTAINED VEHICLE WITH THE VEHICLES 4WD SYSTEM SERVICED EVERY 30K MILES THE TRANSMISSION HAS BEEN

ALTERNATELY CHANGED AND FLUSHED EVERY 30K SINCE NEW. THE MOTOR WAS CHANGED OVER TO MOBILE 1 AROUND 60K MILES. DOES NOT SMOKE OR USE OIL AND NO LEAKS.

THE BODY IS CLEAN AND STRAIGHT WITH A HIGH GLOSS ON THE ORIGINAL PAINT, THIS VEHICLE IS MISTAKEN FOR A MUCH NEWER VEHICLE ALL THE TIME, IT'S VERY UNUSAL TO SEE

A GRAND CHEROKEE OF THIS VINTAGE AS NICE AS THIS ONE, BUT NOT MANY HAVE BEEN CARED FOR AS THIS ONE HAS!

THE JEEP HAS NEW SHOCKS AND THE TIRES ARE PROBABLY 75-80% CONTINENTAL TIRES ARE SOME OF THE BEST MONEY CAN BUY WITH A VERY NICE RIDE THAT IS SILENT AND

And now 10 rules you MUST READ!

1. Your bid is a contract! If you are the successful bidder, you are expected to pay! Please have all contingencies handled and your money in place BEFORE you bid! No retractions will be allowed, so be sure BEFORE you bid!  Please read and understand this:  ASK QUESTIONS AND GET ANSWERS BEFORE YOU BID.

2. A $500.00  NON -NEGOTIABLE
NON - REFUNDABLE partial payment/deposit is due within 48 hours of end of auction. This can be by bank wire transfer or Pay Pal.
Balance is due within 7 days of auction's conclusion. This can be by bank wire transfer as well, and is probably the safest method.

3. Please note that the car is currently at my residence in Champaign Illinois.

4. Vehicle and papers will not leave here until paid in full with cleared funds. If you are paying with ANY kind of check, it must clear MY bank before car or ownership will be released. No exceptions! Please note that with all the fraudulent money orders out there, most banks treat them like personal checks and place a 5 to 7 business day hold on them. Wire transfer is the best method.  If you are paying balance on pickup, it must be cash in person.  No exceptions.

5. Vehicle is sold strictly as-is at my premisies with no guarantee or warranty of any kind.

6. Transportation is the buyer's responsibility. I will try to reasonably help and accommodate you any way I can, but it still YOUR responsibility.

7. If you cannot pick up immediately, that is fine, it can be left here for a reasonable period. However, it still must be paid for within the 7 days, and you should secure insurance as I cannot be responsible for loss or damage due to circumstances beyond my control or act of God.

8. Please ask and get satisfactory answers to all questions BEFORE YOU BID! Since sold strictly as/is, no warranty or returns, once you bid, you have made a binding contract.

9. Car is advertised locally for sale. If I find a buyer through that venue, I reserve the right to end auction early. Please call or text me at 520-730-8699 with any further questions and leave a messages if i so not answer.

10. If you have been an Ebay member for less than a year and/or have less than 10 feedbacks, and/or have less than a 95% rating, you MUST contact me BEFORE you bid. Failure to do this may result in my cancelling your bid and blocking you from bidding on my items current and future. I understand that new members can be great customers, but I must talk to you first. Thanks a lot.

I am sorry for all the rules, but it seems that 5% of difficult people spoil it for the 95% who are good. Thanks very much for looking! Again, please feel free to call or text 520-730-8699 with any questions and leave a message if there is no answer.

               Thanks for looking!

NHTSA upgrading Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Durango headliner fire probe

Wed, 15 Jan 2014

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation into headliner fires experienced by a small number of Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango owners has been upgraded to an engineering analysis, the step before the initiation of a recall. In August last year the investigation began with 146,000 Grand Cherokees from 2012 after three complaints were received, but a report on Edmunds says it has been expanded to include 593,299 vehicles covering the 2011-2013 model years for the Jeep and the Dodge Durango, which uses the same headliner assembly, because of possibly 52 incidents of fire.
In some of those incidents drivers have reported a burning odor, smoke or open flames that were contained to the headliner or migrated to another area of the passenger compartment. The culprit has apparently been found: NHTSA blaming an electrical short in the sun visor vanity light wiring, which is routed under the headliner and held in place by three screws. Chrysler began its own probe into the issue when it was first reported and is still looking into the situation while, "fully supporting the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's investigation."

Chrysler recalling 630k Jeep models worldwide

Thu, 06 Jun 2013

Despite its refusal to recall 2.7 million Jeep Grand Cherokee and Liberty models this week over a gas tank fire risk, Chrysler will be recalling 630,000 Jeep Compass (pictured), Patriot and Wrangler vehicles around the globe for a pair of entirely different reasons.
The affected Compass and Patriot models are all from the 2010 to 2012 model years - 254,000 in the United States, 45,400 in Canada and 109,000 elsewhere in the world. In these models, a software error may result in the late deployment of the side airbags and seatbelt tensioners. In the event of a crash, failure of these systems could result in more serious injuries for the vehicle's occupants.
Jeep's go-anywhere Wrangler also faces a separate recall due to power steering fluid lines that can possibly wear a hole in the transmission oil cooler line. According to Chrysler, the vehicles could then leak fluid, possibly damaging the transmissions. Roughly 221,100 Wrangler models are being recalled because of this issue, all of which are fitted with Jeep's 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine. In the US, 181,000 vehicles are affected, with an additional 18,400 in Canada and 21,700 additional units worldwide. A Chrysler spokesperson said that no crashes or injuries have been reported with either case, according to the Associated Press.
