I am selling my 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee. I have owned this Jeep since 2011. It has been a great vehicle and it has been well maintained. Since I have owned it, I have replaced brake pads, tie rod ends, rotors, calipers, heater core, cadilytic convertor and wheel bearings and allignment. I have also added window visors, chrome door/trunk handles, tinted windows, floor mats and just recently put new tires on it. These tires have less than 1,000 miles on them. It also has a factory towing package and the factory chrome wheels. It has the overhead digital information center which tells you your MPG, miles til empty, next service due, etc. I am not aware of any major accidents with this Jeep. It has a couple of small scratch/dent on the outside (see pics). The interior in this vehicle is nearly perfect with the exception of one tear on the side of the drivers seat. It has been taped over. This Jeep runs great and has a TON of power. It shifts smoothly and has been a very dependable vehicle. I have drove this Jeep a lot, and love it, I just need something with a little more room.

It does need a few things addressed though. The 4 wheel drive was not working over the winter. I have not had this checked out as we have 2 other 4 wheel drive vehicles, so I never had it checked. It could be a vacuum hose, sensor, or something else. It also has a leak (on the drivers side) when it rains hard. I can't seem to locate it, and am not sure if it is coming in through the seal around the windshield or the seal around the side window. The drivers side climate control is not working properly either. It has cold air and hot heat...but the drivers side just doesn't work properly all the time. The passenger side is perfect. It has 144,000 miles, but the title shows 150,000. The miles are correct on the Jeep, so I suspect that a mistake has been made on the milage on the title. There are no remarks on the title such as milage unknown though...it is showing as actual milage. It has a clear title. The clear coat is lifting in a few places on the hood as well. I have added detailed pictures.

I would consider a trade to a lower milage minivan of any make. There is no reserve on this Jeep, so please bid with confidence as I have been completely honest and disclosed all issues this Jeep has. With a little investment, this would be a great vehicle for someone. Please contact me with any questions. I have the Jeep posted for sale or trade locally, so I reserve the right to end this listing early. There is no reserve on this Jeep...so please only bid if you are a serious buyer. Thank you for looking!

Ram and Jeep diesel emissions allegations spur class action lawsuits

Tue, Jan 17 2017

This shouldn't come as a surprise. Last week, the EPA issued a notice of violation to FCA after it determined that Jeep and Ram installed eight undisclosed auxiliary emissions control devices on diesel vehicles. Since then US law firm Heninger Garrison Davis, LLC and Canadian firm Sotos LLP have launched class action suits on behalf of owners. These latest lawsuits are unrelated to a previous class action suit brought against FCA and Cummins over NOx emissions in 2007 to 2012 Ram models. The violation notice – and the subsequent lawsuits – covers 2014 to 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Ram 1500 models equipped with the 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6, a total of about 104,000 vehicles in the US. The EPA says that while the emissions control devices aren't necessarily illegal, installing them without disclosing them to the EPA is, as they produce more emissions in real world use than in testing. Skirting certification in this way might be a violation of the Clean Air Act. FCA could see fines of up to $45,000 per vehicle, depending on the outcome of the EPA investigation. FCA denies that these are cheat devices, and has proposed software updates to bring the vehicles into compliance. As for the lawsuits, Heninger Garrison Davis says that "Fiat Chrysler marketed those vehicles as environmentally friendly with enhanced fuel efficiency, better performance, and lower emissions. Although the diesel vehicles were successfully marketed as 'clean,' their environmentally-friendly representations were deceptive to consumers." The suit seeks an undisclosed amount of compensation for owners of these vehicles. In Canada, Sotos LLP is seeking $250 million in damages on behalf of owners. This suit, filed in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, also claims deception on the part of FCA, "resulting in losses and damage" to owners. These are similar claims to group actions against Volkswagen with regard to its diesel emissions cheating scandal. While VW is fixing or buying back many of the affected vehicles, the company is defending itself against some suits on behalf of owners, saying it expects " no decline in the residual values of the affected vehicles as a result of this issue." Don't be surprised if FCA mounts a similar defense.

Fiat Chrysler to get $105M fine from NHTSA for recall woes

Sun, Jul 26 2015

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is about to send a powerful message to automakers doing business in the United States, assuming reports of an upcoming $105 million fine against Fiat Chrysler Automobiles comes to fruition. In addition to the record-setting monetary fine, according to The Wall Street Journal, FCA will have to accept an independent auditor that will monitor the company's recall and safety processes and will be forced to buy back certain recalled vehicles. In other cases, such as with Jeep Grand Cherokee and Liberty models with gas tanks that could potentially catch fire in certain types of accidents, FCA will offer financial encouragement for owners to get their recall work done or to trade those older vehicles in on new cars, according to the report. FCA could reportedly reduce its fines if it meets certain conditions, though those remain unclear at this time. These actions against FCA are being taken after NHTSA began a probe into the automaker over almost two dozen separate instances where the government claims FCA failed to follow proper procedures for recalls and safety defects. Included in those safety lapses are more than 11 million vehicles currently in customer hands. These penalties and fines are separate from the investigation over security problems with Chrysler's Uconnect system that allowed hackers to obtain remote access into key vehicle systems in 1.4 million vehicles. Ford leads top searched-for car brands on Google in 2014

Mon, Dec 22 2014

With less than two weeks until 2014 takes its final bow, anyone and everyone is looking back on the past 50 or so weeks to see how they stacked up. For search giant Google, that means its time to check out its annual Trends report. Besides the most popular search term (the late, great Robin Williams), the most searched for gadget (the iPhone 6) and most searched for disease symptoms (quite worryingly, Ebola took the crown here), we have the most searched for automaker. With the long-awaited sixth-generation of one of America's most iconic vehicles, the Mustang, and a ground-breaking update for the US market's perennial best seller, the F-Series, it should come as no surprise at all that Ford was Google's most searched for automaker in 2014. Jeep captured second place, while Dodge, took third. We suspect introducing a pair of cars with 707 horsepower had something to do with that bronze medal... Scroll down to see the rest of this year's most searched for automakers, and then head into Comments and let us know if you're surprised by any of these. This content is hosted by a third party.
