Hello there, and welcome to my auction for this beautiful 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo.

Let me start off by saying I have owned this car for two and a half years (purchased in October 2011) and it has been a great car for a college student.  It is very dependable and reliable, and it has drove me and my friend both safely from West Virginia to Memphis TN, and also from West Virginia to Purdue University (Indiana) with absolutely no problems whatsoever.  The reason I am selling is because I am trying to save up money to start flying lessons to obtain my pilot's license.

The description of this vehicle is going to be very thorough, however, I want you to make sure that you know as much as possible about this vehicle before placing a bid on it.  It is not perfect, and it does have some very minor issues, however for being a twenty year old vehicle, it is in extremely good condition.  I do not have receipts for any of the work done on this vehicle, as I performed the work myself, however I would be happy to show you (in detail) the work that I have performed upon picking up the vehicle.

Engine
-The engine is the legendary 4.0 242 cubic inch inline-6 engine, and has 217,785 miles on it.  The miles are high, however the engine runs absolutely flawless.  It has great compression, and does not misfire or backfire at all.
-During the time which I have owned the car, I have replaced the Alternator, Thermostat, Water-Pump, Radiator (two row), A/C Condenser, Fan clutch, Temperature Sending-Unit, Oil Pressure Sensor, and the Rear-Main Oil Seal.  The Distributor and the A/C Compressor were replaced before I picked up the vehicle for the first time.
-The Muffler has also been replaced, and the vehicle is very quiet.
-The engine does not leak any fluids, including oil.  The 4.0s are notorious for leaking oil from the rear main seal due to the seal failing out over time.  I replaced this around 200k miles, and since then, I have not had any drips of oil.
-I have also performed some additional maintenance:  Flushing the heater core, cleaning the A/C Condensate-Drain, Recharging the A/C (blows nice and cold), and checking all the fluids to ensure they are at the proper level.
-The engine uses a very small amount of oil, and usually by the time of an oil change (2000-3000 miles) it is usually about a quart low.  However, if you change the oil frequently (3000 miles) you should not have to worry about this.
-The "Check Engine" light is not lit during operation.

Transmission
-The transmission is the Chrysler Torque-Flite A500 (sub-model 44RE).  It was (claimed) to be rebuilt when I purchased the vehicle back in 2011, although I do not have any of the paper-work to prove it.  Still, none the less, the transmission does not slip, grind, or make any odd noises, and performs absolutely perfectly.
-The transmission does not leak any fluid, and is currently at the proper fluid level.  It is not over-filled.

Transfer Case
-The Transfer Case is the NP242 "Selec-Trac" model.  It has driving modes of 2WD, 4WD Part Time (for use on slippery roads only, such as snow or sand), 4WD Full Time (can be used on all road surfaces, even dry roads), Neutral (for flat towing the vehicle), or 4WD Part Time "Low" (for use in extreme conditions on slippery road surfaces where additional pulling power is needed).
-The transfer case was replaced by me upon purchasing the vehicle and does not leak any fluids.  I replaced the transfer case fluid around 205k miles.  It performs perfectly, and does not make any strange noises, and I have had no trouble shifting in and out of 4WD.

Wheels and Tires
-The two front tires were worn out upon inspection, and had to be replaced.  Therefore, they are brand new.  The two rear tires have about 5,000-10,000 more miles on them, and then they will probably have to be replaced.
-The rims (wheels) on the vehicle are not bent and are in good condition.  Some paint is starting to be peeled away on them, however it is a very small amount and does not affect the overall quality of the vehicle.  It can hardly be seen in the pictures.

Interior
-The interior is in excellent condition.  I recently had the headliner replaced so it does not sag.
-The carpets have been cleaned (both vacuumed and washed).
-I will include four black mats to the buyer of the auction (not pictured).  These have also been vacuumed and washed.
-There is a small tear in the driver's seat (see picture, and description below under "Issues").

Exterior
-The exterior of the car (as shown in the pictures) is also in excellent condition.  There is absolutely no rust on the body with the exception of a small freckle sized spot on the rear passenger door (see pictures).
-The exterior of the car will be detailed upon pick-up.
-There is a small dent on the driver side quarter panel, and also a small amount of faded on the rear passenger side panel (near the rear end).  These can bee seen in pictures.

Miscellaneous
-The vehicle has the optional "Infinity Gold" sound system installed.  However, all four of the vehicle's speakers were blown out when I purchased the vehicle.  Because of this, I have installed four brand new "Rockford Fosgate" speakers in the vehicle and have confirmed that all of them work.  The sound quality is very high.
-The vehicle has a Panasonic CD player, instead of the old Infinity Cassette player.
-The vehicle's antenna (as shown in the pictures) is much smaller than usual, however the radio still has fantastic sound quality.  Absolutely no static.

As mentioned above, this car is not perfect, and does have some issues.  I will try to be as detailed as possible when describing them.  These have not been major hassles for me, as most of them are extremely small issues, however I want to make sure I point all of them out so that you know exactly what you are getting if you decide to place a bid.  These are the only things currently wrong with the vehicle.  Everything else is good to go!

Issues
-The vehicle's ABS system does not work.  The module itself can be powered on, however the system will engage even when not braking and accelerating.  Because of this, I removed the relays that power the ABS system.  The brakes themselves work just fine, however the actual ABS system does not.  This has not been a big deal for me, as I do not drive fast and have never needed to rely on the ABS system.  This did not cause the vehicle to fail the West Virginia State Inspection, as the vehicle passed with no major problems.

-The vehicle's Trip Computer (located below the climate control) does not perform correctly.  It will cycle on and off which will cause you to have to consistently reset the clock all the time.  The 4x4 indicator does not work properly on it either, and it always shows the vehicle in 2WD (even when the 4x4 is engaged).  This has not been a major problem as I just ignore it while driving. This is NOT the same as the Engine's ECU, which operates fine.

-There is a tear in the driver's side seat.  I started to sew it with black thread however I have not finished it.  This will be completely sewn with black thread upon pick-up.

-The vehicle's Chime Module was removed by the previous owner, so you do not receive a "beep" before starting the car, or if the headlights are left on.

-The vehicle's power locks do not operate correctly.  The "Unlock" button works just fine and unlocks all of the doors, however the "Lock" button does nothing, and you have to manually lock each door (including the trunk) if the unlock button is pressed.

-The rear wiper does not work.  I will try to have this fixed upon pick up, however if I can't get it fixed, the rear wiper will not function.  This did not cause the vehicle to fail the WV State Inspection.

-There is a piece missing on the front bumper (as shown in the pictures) which was not sent to me upon receiving the bumper.  This piece WILL be replaced before the buyer picks up the vehicle, however it currently not on the vehicle.

-There is a slight dent in the driver's side front fender (as described under the "Exterior" section).  It is almost unnoticeable, but it is there none the less (see pictures).

-Last but not least, there is a very small amount of paint faded on the rear passenger side panel (also described in the "Exterior" section).  This is also shown in the pictures.

Return Policy
-The car is to be sold "As-Is" through the ebay auction, however I have personally bought cars online before and I know it can be skeptical since you will most likely have not driven the vehicle beforehand.  Because of this, I will make you a guaranteed offer that upon pick up of the vehicle, if you are not 100% satisfied with the vehicle you will receive a full refund and the car will be re-listed online.  I am only doing this to ensure you bid with confidence, and also so you can protect your money.  However, once I have signed the title over to you, the car is yours, and I will not accept any returns.
-Although not pictured above, I have two sets of keys, and the title in hand.

Shipping Policy
-I would prefer to have the vehicle picked up and not shipped, however I will ship the vehicle if........

1)  Full payment is received
2)  Buyer works out shipping arrangements
3)  Car is to be picked up (by shipping company) within a week of auction end.

A Final Note
-The vehicle was just inspected, and has an official West Virginia State Inspection sticker that is valid until March of 2015.
-If the final bid is $1500 or greater, I will purchase two more brand new matching tires for the rear end, so you will have a full set of brand new tires.
-I will also include a Monster radio transmitter so that you can listen to an Ipod or mp3 player while driving.
-I will try to have as many of the smaller internal gremlins fixed as I can before the vehicle is to be picked up, however I am currently an engineering student and my time is very crucial, so (unless specifically stated in the "issues" section), plan on the following "issues" to be present upon pick up of the vehicle.
-A refundable deposit (see "Return Policy") of $400 must be paid via PayPal within 48 hours of the auction end, and full payment must be completed upon pick up or within 7 days of auction end.  I accept cash, PayPal, or money order only.  No checks will be accepted.
-There are no fees on this auction that you would otherwise pay on some auctions!  The final bidding price is the price you will pay.

If you have absolutely any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to message me on here, or email me at Spanovich008@gmail.com so that I can fully answer your questions.  My email goes straight to my phone so unless I am asleep or otherwise unable to answer my phone, I should reply back almost immediately.

Thank you so much for looking at my auction, and I hope you have a wonderful day.  :)

NHTSA closes investigation into Jeep Liberty fires

Sun, 16 Mar 2014

The investigation that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration opened into the Jeep Liberty in October 2013 has been closed. NHTSA received two (!) complaints about fires starting in the driver's door, thought to be caused by the master power window switch. The initial estimate was that 80,000 Libertys could be roped into a possible recall, but according to a report in the Detroit News the agency examined records for 425,000 Chrysler products that used the same window switch, including the Dodge Nitro and Chrysler Town & Country minivan.
After canvassing 265 warranty claims related to the master switches, NHTSA concluded that the rate of fires compared to the "large population of vehicles" was rather low, and that there was no trend pattern behind the few issues it did find. Perhaps with that, and the closure of the trailer hitch investigation, the Liberty can finally rest in peace.

Europe gets Jeep Wrangler Polar limited edition

Wed, 04 Sep 2013

Jeep will be bringing an all-new, limited-edition model to the European market called the Wrangler Polar. Based on the Wrangler Sahara and set to make its debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, the Wrangler Polar sports new Hyrdro Blue paint, gloss black 18-inch wheels, a body-color hardtop, and the regular mix of Mopar styling accessories. Billet Silver Metallic and Bright White are available for those that don't dig the glossy blue, while a two-door variant will be available in addition to the four-door pictured above.
The Polar's interior features similar tweaks; Pearl White contrast stitching can be found on both the seats and steering wheel, while ceramic White bezels and other accents give a nice contrasting look to the cabin.
Underhood sits an engine that should make American Wrangler enthusiasts weep - a 2.8-liter, four-cylinder turbodiesel. With 200 horsepower and 339 pound-feet of torque channeled through a five-speed automatic transmission, the Wrangler Polar should handle itself just fine on normal roads. British buyers will also be able to select the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6. For rougher stuff, Dana axles can be found front and rear (Dana 30 up front and Dana 44 in back), while the Command-Trac four-wheel-drive system and its two-speed transfer case should be enough for when the roads disappear.

Jeep Twitter account hacked, bad language, poor grammar and some hilarity ensue

Tue, 19 Feb 2013

Just a day after Burger King's Twitter account was compromised by "unauthorized users," Jeep's social media feed has been similarly hacked. Both instances of digital incursion share some similarities - the BK hackers changed the company's logo for McDonald's familiar golden arches, saying a sale had occurred, while the Jeep miscreants have replaced Jeep's branding with that of General Motors property Cadillac.
The resulting tweets from the damaged Jeep account have been a pretty brutal, to put it bluntly. Most of the content coming from the hacked account is unpublishable here, using language that is peppered with racial epithets, and poorly worded "shout outs."
In addition to the defamatory tweets themselves, the hackers have significantly altered the layout of the page. Jeep's header image now features a picture of the Cadillac ATS to go along with the Wreath and Crest, some language calling out that car as winning the 2013 North American Car of the Year award, and this gem: "The official Twitter handle for the Jeep(R) - Just Empty Every Pocket, Sold To Cadillac =[" Also, perhaps in an ode to yesterday's Burger King heist, the background image for the page now features a McDonald's-themed donk. The devil's in the details, we guess.
