1987 Jeep Comanche Pickup 2-door 4.0l, Leather Bucket Seats, More Pics Available on 2040-cars
Fenton, Missouri, United States
MY TRUCK VALUES AT WELL OVER $8,000.00 BECAUSE IT IS A CLASSIC COLLECTOR'S JEEP. IT HAS A GREAT BASE TO IT, BEEN DRIVEN AND MAINTENANCED WELL BY PREVIOUS OWNERS. HERE IS A STRING YOU CAN CLICK ON FOR AN IDEA OF IT'S LOW, MEDIUM AND HIGH END RETAIL VALUE. http://www.nadaguides.com/Classic-Cars/1987/Jeep-Corporation-AMC/Comanche/Pickup/Values I HAVE NEW RADIATOR HOSES, NEW WATER PUMP AND THERMOSTAT, NEW STARTER AND NEW FUEL PUMP. I'VE PUT A LOT OF EXTRA WORK IN THE TRUCK AND EVERYTHING WORKS. IT'S A GREAT RUNNING TRUCK. LOTS OF POWER, VERY STRONG MOTOR. GOES DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 70, ABOUT A QUARTER INCH OF PEDAL. NO PLAY IN THE STEERING WHEEL, NO SWAY. TIRES ARE ALL MATCHING AND AT 80 PERCENT. THICK 5-SPOKE ALUMINUM "JEEP" WHEELS. THERE IS NO RUST ON THIS TRUCK. NONE. THE TAILGATE IS KINDA ROUGH. IT NEEDS A RADIO. IT NEEDS A HARMONIC BALANCER. IT DOESN'T GET HOT ALL THE TIME, BUT IT DEFINATELY NEEDS THE SYSTEM, HOSES AND SUCH, FIXED. I PUT ON A NEW SERPENTINE BELT. SHE STARTS RIGHT UP ON THE COLDEST OF MORNINGS AND DOESN'T SMOKE NOR USE OIL. IT HAS THE ORIGINAL BUCKET SEATS AND LEATHER DOOR PANELS. IT HAS THE ORIGINAL 3 PART REAR WINDOW WITH THE SLIDING CENTER CLASS. HAS THE TOWING CAPASITY OF NEARLY A HALF TON, WHICH WAS CHRYSLER'S IDEA IN MAKING THE '87 COMANCHE BIGGER THAN THE S-10, THE RANGER, THE SONOMO AND THE FORIEGN SMALL PICKUPS, AND THEY SOLD WELL. It came out standard with additional wiring harnesses under the dash for accessory overcab lighting, towing harness, and they are all intact and still labeled. I also have a Chilton manual for this truck. I STARTED READING A LOT ON THE COMANCHE CLUB AND THE JEEP FORUMS AND THESE TRUCKS HAVE A FANTASTIC HISTORY. THE N.A.D.A. HAS THIS TRUCK LISTED IN VALUE OF JUST OVER $8300.00 AND THERE ARE SOME THAT ARE JUST IMMACULATE. MY TRUCK HAS ALL THE BASE NEEDED TO HAVE A NICE SHOW TRUCK. I HAVE ADDITIONAL PARTS FOR IT TOO. THE FRONT GRILL HEADER PANEL THAT HOLD IN ALL THE HEADLIGHTS AND THINGS, I HAVE ANOTHER ONE. THE ONE ON THERE HAS SOME ISSUES WHERE SOMEONE MESSED UP THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY AND TRIED WIRING IT IN. ALSO, I HAVE ALL THE WIRING HARNESS THAT GO TO THAT TO. I NEED TO SELL MY TRUCK. I HAVE CANCER AND THINGS ARE ACTUALLY GOING FANTASTIC, BUT HAVING THE MONEY TO STAY AFLOAT WITH ALL THE DOCTORS MEETINGS, TESTINGS, HOSPITAL STAYS, ETC, JUST GETTING BY IS VERY HARD. THE TRUCK IS WELL WORTH BRINGING BACK TO ORIGINAL, THE UNDERCARRIAGE HAS NO RUST WHATSOEVER. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR LOOKING AND BIDDING. |

Jeep Wrangler's shift to aluminum could see production leave Toledo
Mon, 06 Oct 2014The Jeep Wrangler may be a timeless design, but sooner or later, time will run out and Chrysler will have to replace it with a newer model more friendly towards the earth it's designed to traverse. That will, it seems, mean a shift to aluminum construction (whether just for the body or for the entire structure) - but what will that mean for the Wrangler's long-time home of Toledo, OH?
According to the latest pronouncements from Fiat Chrysler chief Sergio Marchionne, the shift to an aluminum Wrangler would likely mean moving production out of Toledo. "If the solution is aluminum," Marchionne told Automotive News, "then I think unfortunately Toledo is the wrong place, the wrong setup to try and build a Wrangler, because it requires a complete reconfiguring of the assets that would be cost-prohibitive."
Marchionne also indicated that, were Wrangler production to move elsewhere, it would find another line to take its place in Ohio. "One of the thing that we are dealing with now is what else we do with Toledo that fulfills our commitment to the city and to Ohio. I don't have a doubt that there will be zero impact on head count and employment levels and anything else." Jeep has built the Wrangler in Toledo since World War II, with the exception of six years starting in 1986 when it was built in Brampton, Ontario. The complex dates back to 1910 and currently produces the Wrangler and Cherokee. Past products have included the Wagoneer and Commanche as well as the Dodge Dakota and Nitro.
Bring back the Bronco! Trademarks we hope are actually (someday) future car names
Tue, Mar 17 2015Trademark filings are the tea leaves of the auto industry. Read them carefully – and interpret them correctly – and you might be previewing an automaker's future product plans. Yes, they're routinely filed to maintain the rights to an iconic name. And sometimes they're only for toys and clothing. But not always. Sometimes, the truth is right in front of us. The trademark is required because a company actually wants to use the name on a new car. With that in mind, here's a list of intriguing trademark filings we want to see go from paperwork to production reality. Trademark: Bronco Company: Ford Previous Use: The Bronco was a long-running SUV that lived from 1966-1996. It's one of America's original SUVs and was responsible for the increased popularity of the segment. Still, it's best known as O.J. Simpson's would-be getaway car. We think: The Bronco was an icon. Everyone seems to want a Wrangler-fighter – Ford used to have a good one. Enough time has passed that the O.J. police chase isn't the immediate image conjured by the Bronco anymore. Even if we're doing a wish list in no particular order, the Bronco still finds its way to the top. For now (unfortunately), it's just federal paperwork. Rumors on this one can get especially heated. The official word from a Ford spokesman is: "Companies renew trademark filings to maintain ownership and control of the mark, even if it is not currently used. Ford values the iconic Bronco name and history." Trademarks: Aviator, AV8R Company: Ford Previous Use: The Aviator was one of the shortest-run Lincolns ever, lasting for the 2003-2005 model years. It never found the sales success of the Ford Explorer, with which it shared a platform. We Think: The Aviator name no longer fits with Lincoln's naming nomenclature. Too bad, it's better than any other name Lincoln currently uses, save for its former big brother, the Navigator. Perhaps we're barking up the wrong tree, though. Ford has made several customized, aviation themed-Mustangs in the past, including one called the Mustang AV8R in 2008, which had cues from the US Air Force's F-22 Raptor fighter jet. It sold for $500,000 at auction, and the glass roof – which is reminiscent of a fighter jet cockpit – helped Ford popularize the feature. Trademark: EcoBeast Company: Ford Previous Use: None by major carmakers.
FCA plants skipping summer shutdown to keep up with demand
Thu, May 14 2015Hopefully, some FCA US factory employees don't have big plans for the usual summer shutdown, because the automaker is keeping several plants running this year. Demand is so high that the company wants to keep models rolling off the assembly lines. Four FCA US assembly plants, all the engine factories, and some locations that build transmissions are staying open throughout the summer, according to the Detroit Free Press. Usually, these sites would see a two-week shutdown for the company to retool and perform repairs. This year, factories are staying open for FCA to support its strong sales. The lines that remaining humming through the summer show an inclination toward the automaker's popular SUV's and crossovers. They include the Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Michigan that builds the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango; Saltillo Van Assembly in Mexico that constructs the Ram ProMaster; Toledo Assembly Complex in Ohio that produces the Cherokee and Wrangler; and Toluca Assembly in Mexico that makes the Dodge Journey and Fiat 500.
