Hello,

I'm selling my 1983 Jeep CJ8 scrambler.
If you know anything about jeeps you know the scramblers are rare and highly desirable.
I hate to sell it but we have another baby on the way so its time to let it go.
There is no way I will get all the money I've put in it back out of it but that's how these project go.
Let me say first I will NOT trade unless it's for a 2012-14 Honda odyssey minivan with less than 30k miles on it with power doors and leather seats.
I thought I would keep the jeep forever but selling it is the right thing to do so I have to let it go.

We have put over 20k in this jeep over the years and that's not even including the original purchase price of the jeep or all the labor.
Before I dumped all my time and money into it was already very clean.
I looked at a bunch of scramblers before I bought this one.
It wasn't rusted out or rotted the floors; inerfenders and whole tub was in great shape and very solid. When I had it painted they removed the little rust that was there and we replaced both front fenders with steel replacements and put on a new windshield frame.
I spend 6k on the paint and body work alone it was done the right way so this jeep will look great for years to come.

Here are the details on the jeep:
I put in a huge AMC 360 5.9 liter motor with a hot cam in it. It has tons of torque and runs great!
It starts up every time on the first crank and idles smooth.
It has a 4 speed Borg-Warner T18 heavy duty transmission and Dana Spicer Model 300 Transfer Case.
The foundation of the restoration was a brand new "Throttle Down Kustoms" Steel Frame so it has zero rust! -- Google it they are a great frame!
When we Got the new frame we replaced all the body mounts, bushings and a ton of other parts.
It has a Dana 44 front axle with warn hubs from a Jeep Waggoner.
A Dana 60 from a 1ton Dodge with a locker in the rear.
Both axles were shortened to fit under the jeep and matching widths.
The axles have matching 4.56 gears in both with all fresh parts and one piece chromoly axles with 5x5.5 bolt pattern. Along with WARN hubs.
It also has fresh breaks all the way around.
It has 37 inch Goodyear Mud Terrains tires that have less than 5000 miles with matching spare on 15" steel wheels.
It has a 4.5 in Rubicon express springs over axle lift.
It has a brand new best top full soft top.
It has a full custom roll cage. Its 2 separate pieces that bolt in so if you want the truck look its easy to take out.
Rhino lined the interior and put in best top thermal seats.
Up graded headlights along with Procom spots on the front bumper.
Ruged Ridge ABS 6in Fender flares
Off road Rampage TJ bumper with smittybilt conversion brackets.
Poison Spider rockers
Poison Spider rear bumper and tire swing.
I have 2 sets of hard doors. One set is in perfect shape and one set is a little rough I was going to make half doors. It will come with both.

This Jeep is a BEAST on or off road.
It will crawl over anything you point it at but will also cruise around town all day.
That being said it is a highly modified 30 year old jeep so know what your getting into.
I would say this jeep is 85% from being perfect but all the big stuff is done.
If your looking for a good looking fun jeep that your not scared to tinker with or maybe a good father son jeep this would be perfect.

I have a clean blue Texas title in my name.

Six 'shut up and take my money' cars

    Tue, 11 Nov 2014

Any time you see this iconic moment in pop culture - Shut up and take my money! - posted in response to a new car reveal, rumor for an upcoming model or even lip-service to a vehicle that should exist, you can bet there's some intrinsic good in the idea. Though depending on the person offering up the cash, that good could take the form of extraordinary form, functionality, weight savings, power, handling, etc. You get the idea.
In fact, when I first proposed this list, I reached out to the Autoblog staff to help me brainstorm. Here are some of the ideas they offered up that I ultimately didn't use: Jaguar XE Coupe, Pagani Huayra Roadster, Mercedes-Benz S-Class "parade car" (cabriolet), Morgan 3-Wheeler with Ducati V-twin, Ford Transit Connectamino (pickup), Mercedes CLA63 AMG, Ford Fusion 5.0, BMW i8 Spyder, Lexus RC-F Shooting Brake, Volvo XC90 Polestar. Oh, and things we collectively wanted to stick Dodge's Hellcat in were almost as numerous as models that Fiat Chrysler Automotive currently makes (though none quite so compelling as the Grand Cherokee you see above.)
Ultimately though, while I used a couple of ideas from my colleagues, the list of cars I'd shell out for unquestionably is very personal. Though it isn't complete, what follows is a selection of cars whose very existence would prompt me - or the trust-fund-baby versions of me - to utter without hesitation: "Shut up and take my money."

Weekly Recap: GM scales back as Russian auto market teeters

    Sat, Mar 21 2015

General Motors' extensive plans to scale back its Russian operations are the latest sign the automotive market in the former superpower is collapsing – and there are few signs of recovery. GM said Wednesday it will stop selling mainstream Chevrolets and shutter the entire Opel brand in Russia. The moves leave GM with a luxury-focused presence consisting of Cadillac and Chevrolet's Corvette, Camaro and Tahoe. The cutbacks will be completed by the end of the year. The automaker will also idle its factory in St. Petersburg and end a contract-assembly agreement with Russian manufacturer GAZ. "We had to take decisive action in Russia to protect our business," Opel Group CEO Karl-Thomas Neumann said in a statement. "We confirm our outlook to return the European business to profitability in 2016 and stick to our long-term goals." GM is the latest automaker to scale back in Russia as the economic conditions, volatile currency and uncertainty over the conflict in the Ukraine all have sandbagged new car sales. Last month, vehicle sales collapsed 38 percent in Russia to 128,298 units, according to the Association of European Business, which records sales. Joerg Schreiber, chairman of the AEB automobile manufacturers committee, didn't even feign optimism in a statement announcing the figures. "The market is entering a very difficult phase now, and February is only the beginning," he said. "Industry sentiment is the next few months will be extremely difficult and the market bottom has yet to be found." The dovetails with industry experts, who predict the Russian auto sector will remain in the doldrums. IHS said earlier this year it expects Russia's sales to slip to just 1.8 million units in 2015, which is a 40-percent drop from 2012. Other News & Notes Chief leads Jeep's Easter Safari stable Jeep is bringing seven attention-getting concepts to Moab for its annual Easter Safari off-roading celebration in Utah, but the Chief is perhaps the standout of the group. It salutes the 1970s Cherokee with a throwback appearance and surfer styling cues. The Chief has a custom modified razor grille made famous by the Wagoneer, and it rolls on 17-inch slotted mag wheels. The surf theme comes in with ocean blue paint, floral cloth and leather seats and a tiki-style shifter handle. Based on the Jeep Wrangler, the Chief has removable sides, a 3.6-liter V6 engine and a six-speed manual gearbox.

First Jeepster prototype spotted with final, boxy form

    Thu, 23 Jan 2014

The long-awaited baby Jeep is getting closer to production, as evidenced by these spy photos. Previously, the only images of the so-called Jeepster saw it wearing a Fiat 500L body (see below), while this new batch of photos show hefty amounts of camouflage. How is that better? Well, it's very likely there's a production body hiding under all that cladding.
While picking out styling details is virtually impossible thanks to all the camo, as our spies point out, this gives us a very sound idea of the Jeepster's final size. It's small, although we'd argue that it's only slightly smaller than the current Jeep Patriot, based on the images of the newest Jeep sitting in front of an Alfa Romeo Giulietta.
As we reported previously, this little bambino will be built on a Fiat platform, but the styling should be uniquely Jeep - likely to include a somewhat vertical seven-slat grille and round headlights. We can expect to see a production Jeepster, if that ends up being the actual name (Latitude has been rumored, although as that's traditionally a trim level, we imagine there'd be some confusion), when it debuts at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
