Complete rotisserie nut and bolt restoration less than 1000 miles ago on a matching numbers Jeep. All new engine components (304 V-8), water pump, air pump, power steering pump, alternator, starter, ceramic coated exhaust manifolds with new aluminized dual exhaust, new hoses, belts, plugs and wires, cap, rotor, new gas, oil, and air filters. New clutch assembly, rebuilt T-150 transmission and transfer case, new ball joints, tie rod ends, steering stabilizer shock, 4 new pro comp gas shocks and u-joints, new front brake rotors, calipers, pads and hoses. Rebuilt Warn front lockout hubs, redone 4-core radiator, new power brake booster and master cylinder, new battery, new leaf spring brackets and bushings front and rear. New wheel flares, new "Golden Eagle" decal and stripe kit, new rear E-brake assembly, new rear brakes, wheel cylinders and hoses, new axel seals and bearings in both Dana 20 and 30 axels with 3.54 gear ratio. 5 AMC redone original steel wheels mounted with new BFGoodrich All Terrain T/A's, new OEM Bestop Tiger top. New front and rear seats, seat belts, carpet and center console. New OEM 15 gallon fuel tank and cap. Factory trailer hitch, new front sway bar, new windshield and wipers. Has a padded dash and tilt wheel. New OEM tach and clock. New glove box and shifter with new boots. All steel body. This Jeep runs and drives great. The first new vehicle I purchased was a 1979 Jeep CJ-5 and I just had to have another one. Now it's time to restore my high school car and the wife says the Jeep has to go. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recalls nearly 750k vehicles in two campaigns
Thu, 16 Oct 2014Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling a total of 747,817 vehicles in the US in two separate campaigns recently added to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration database.
The first one covers about 434,581 units of the Chrysler 300, Dodge Charger, Challenger, Durango, and Jeep Grand Cherokee from the 2011-2014 model years with electric hydraulic power steering, the 3.6-liter V6 engine and a 160 amp alternator, according to FCA. In the affected vehicles, it's possible for the alternator to fail without warning and possibly cause the car to stall. According to the documentation submitted to NHTSA, the automaker began investigating the problem in August 2014 and has found possible evidence of one crash caused by the failures but no known injuries.
Customers will begin receiving notification about the recall next month, and obviously the repairs will be done at no cost to them.
FCA plants skipping summer shutdown to keep up with demand
Thu, May 14 2015Hopefully, some FCA US factory employees don't have big plans for the usual summer shutdown, because the automaker is keeping several plants running this year. Demand is so high that the company wants to keep models rolling off the assembly lines. Four FCA US assembly plants, all the engine factories, and some locations that build transmissions are staying open throughout the summer, according to the Detroit Free Press. Usually, these sites would see a two-week shutdown for the company to retool and perform repairs. This year, factories are staying open for FCA to support its strong sales. The lines that remaining humming through the summer show an inclination toward the automaker's popular SUV's and crossovers. They include the Jefferson North Assembly Plant in Michigan that builds the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango; Saltillo Van Assembly in Mexico that constructs the Ram ProMaster; Toledo Assembly Complex in Ohio that produces the Cherokee and Wrangler; and Toluca Assembly in Mexico that makes the Dodge Journey and Fiat 500.
