Beautiful Cj5 Custom Stainless Steel Frame, Power Monster! on 2040-cars
Effingham, Illinois, United States
This is among the most incredible jeeps you will find. There is absoultey nothing that needs to be done with this. It has the custom paint, frame, fabrication and the motor and drivetrain to back up its bada$$ looks. This jeep has a 327 built chromed out motor that is equipped with a racing cam, Edlebrock 650 or 750 carb, and heddman headers. This motor when changing fluids is only fueled with the best with 93 octane fuel, additives, and the best parts our store can get(Spark plugs, ect.). We recently payed a professional to polish the jeep from the bottom up as to show the buyer the true potential in its physical(not photographic) state. My father is the owner of this jeep and is one of those people that when he builds something and is done he gets in a mood to start on something else. This jeep has to be seen to be believed how insanely clean and pristine it truly is. The picture commits no justice to what happens when it truly meets the eye.
It has a three inch rancho lift and runs on 33/12.50/15 thorn birds. The tires ride on what i believe is an older type of american racing wheel but like the rest of the jeep both are in near perfect condition. This is among the best sounding gas vehicles i have ever heard. The exhaust is loud when you want to hit the big Rpms but still quiet enough to hear when you are cruising down the road as fast as you feel comfortable. No speed is unobtainable with this monster. This is so clean you could comfortably eat off any part of this thing. The interior consists of new black matching leather with new carpet and weather tech floor mats. IT has a b&m shifter to handle handle the custom tranny below it to what i believe to be around 400 horse to the rear wheels, but for you power power guys it is prob around 500 motor. One another note. This has not been out in the rain. It is either in the garage, out on a sunny day, or in our storage unit underneath the cover. This jeep has got more followers and stares than any other jeep we have owned. We do not do shows, we build things the way we want and then start on something new. I would like to see someone take as clean of care of this as we did while easily winning whatever show they choose to partake in. Please let me know if there is anything you need. I have paperwork on all parts. And there are receipts for over 35k in this jeep. Call/ text 2178219929 or 2178214380. Our names are Kolby and/or Brad and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have. P.S. We still have some very minor "bolt together" things we have to do yet but the jeep will be in perfect* condition when buyer makes purchase. Which is also for sale locally. We are in Central Illinois so if you would like to come take a look or a test drive please let us know by calling the previous numbers given. Thanks Kolby and Brad |

Jeep hiring 1,000 part-time workers in Toledo on Wrangler, Cherokee demand
Wed, 12 Mar 2014The new Jeep Cherokee has been quite a success for Chrysler, but its factory workers are getting tired. The automaker has agreed to hire up to 1,000 part-time, temporary employees at its Toledo Assembly Complex where the CUV and Wrangler are built. It will allow the company to keep Jeep production moving, while giving laborers a break.
According to plant manager Chuck Padden in the Toledo Blade, full-time workers are regularly taking on 60 hours a week, and it's beginning to wear on them. "To get them more time off is important to us, to make sure they're refreshed, and can work safely," said Padden.
Chrysler has already hired 380 temporary, part-time workers for the plant, and 50 have been converted to full-time employees. The company is in the process of interviewing the rest of the new hires now and plans to have all 1,000 in place by the summer. They will work between 10 and 30 hours a week mostly on weekends for $15.78 per hour with limited benefits. The temporary positions will last "as long as demand continues for the Jeep Wrangler and the Jeep Cherokee," said Jodi Tinson, Chrysler spokesperson for manufacturing and labor communications, to Autoblog in an email.
Jeep teases pair of Moab concepts early
Tue, 19 Mar 2013With the 47th annual Moab Easter Jeep Safari coming up at the end of this month, Jeep is preparing to roll out six new off-road-ready concept vehicles. The first two being teased are the Jeep Grand Cherokee "Trailhawk II" concept and the Jeep Wrangler "Slim," and while we have no information on either, we at least get an idea of what they'll look like.
We can't tell why this Wrangler is called Slim, but it has a nice black-and-red paint scheme with a serious off-roading front bumper and five-spoke beadlock wheels. There's even less we can figure out about the Grand Cherokee's Trailhawk II concept except that it appears to be painted up in the same Crusher Orange paint job as the recently introduced SRT Viper TA. We'll likely more of these as well as peeks at the other Moab concepts as we get closet to this year's Moab Easter Jeep Safari, which will be held March 23 through 31.
Feds chastise Marchionne over Jeep recall, only 13% repaired so far
Sat, Nov 22 2014Following the significant outcry surrounding the General Motors and Takata airbag safety crises this year, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration seems to be taking a much more aggressive role in pushing owners to repair their recalled vehicles. In the agency's latest move, it's urging Jeep drivers to get their models fixed. Acting NHTSA administrator David Friedman even sent a letter to Fiat Chrysler Automobiles CEO Sergio Marchionne pressing him to get more of the SUVs fixed. The problem goes back to the recall of the 2002-2007 Liberty and 1993-1998 Grand Cherokee because of the possibility for the fuel tank to rupture in some rear crashes. The campaign affected over 1.5 million vehicles, but Chrysler initially refused NHTSA's request for a repair campaign. The automaker eventually came up with a fix that involved adding a trailer hitch to provide extra protection to the tank. The feds believe the danger "will be reduced by the remedy now offered by Chrysler," according to the statement. However, this latest push comes out of NHTSA's concern that only three percent of the affected vehicles are repaired, although Chrysler maintains some 13.4 percent have actually been fixed. The agency is asking the automaker to reach out to owners "proactively," and get them to bring the Jeeps in dealers. According to the the feds' statement, the company "has nearly 400,000 parts available" to perform the fixes, and it's still producing more. Friedman's letter to Marchionne goes even further, alleging NHTSA has received reports that dealers are turning customers away who request the recall. He asks the CEO to prove within 15 days that these claims are false. "Given the low rates of repair that Chrysler has reported more than a year after the recall, significantly more aggressive steps are required," says a portion of the note. According to The Detroit News, Chrysler has subsequently promised to speed up the recall work, vowing that all dealers will have at least 12 repair kits in stock by Monday. Further, it has announced plans to ramp up its notification campaign with Facebook ads and public service announcements. Scroll down to read NHTSA's full statement on the matter, and Friedman's letter to Marchionne can be read in PDF format, here.
