I PERSONALLY LIKE JEEPS THAT HAVE JUST THE RIGHT PATINA INSTEAD OF A FRESH "OVER RESTORED" ONE. THEY ARE ONLY ORIGINAL ONCE. THE INTERIOR IS NICE AS WELL. THE FRONT SEATS ARE BRAND NEW, THE CENTER CONSOLE IS NEW, THE DASH IS NICE, AND THE REAR SEAT IS NICE TOO. THE STEREO IS NEW AND THE GAUGES, TURN SIGNALS, WIPERS, LIGHTS, HEATER, ETC. ALL SEEM TO WORK WELL. THE JEEP RUNS AND DRIVES WELL TOO. THE MOTOR STARTS EASILY AND IDLES SMOOTHLY. IT RUNS STRONG AND DOES NOT SMOKE OR MAKE ANY STRANGE NOISES. I DROVE IT ON A 2 HOUR TRIP ON THE INTERSTATE AND IT PERFORMED VERY WELL FOR WHAT IT IS. THE TIRES ARE BRAND NEW AND THE LIFT HAS BEEN ON THE JEEP FOR ABOUT A YEAR. IT GOES DOWN THE ROAD PRETTY STRAIGHT FOR A LIFTED JEEP WITH BIG TIRES BUT YOU AREN'T GOING TO BE ABLE TO CRUISE AT 80 MPH LIKE MOST TRAFFIC ON THE INTERSTATE NOWADAYS. IT IS VERY CAPABLE OFF ROAD AND EVERYTHING IS SET UP WELL. OVERALL THIS IS A VERY NICE JEEP THAT IS APPRECIATING IN VALUE. Choose Your Own Adventure... But Choose Wisely
Jeep has got you covered. We can say this without even having to know what it is you want, because there's hardly an option or configuration that you won't find in the 2014 Grand Cherokee. There are three different engines, three different four-wheel-drive systems (plus rear-wheel drive), four different trim levels - not counting SRT - two different suspension setups and five different settings for various off-road terrain conditions. If you happen to check the box for Quadra-Lift, you'll also have five different ride-height settings for the driver-selectable air suspension.
As you might expect with so many customization possibilities, the way a buyer checks the options sheet can have a profound effect on the final product and its capabilities, to say nothing of its price. Nowhere is that more true than with the Grand Cherokee's choice of engines, with the brand-new 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 stealing the spotlight from the still excellent gasoline-fueled 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and 5.7-liter Hemi V8 powerplants that carry over from last year. No matter which engine you choose, though, it will be paired up with Jeep's new standard eight-speed automatic transmission from ZF. This, ladies and gentlemen, is very good news indeed.

Jeep Wrangler diesel likely after 2015 model refresh

We automotive journalists aren't always the right people to ask about whether a US-spec vehicle should or should not be offered with a diesel powertrain (hint: the answer is usually "YES"). But when it comes to the iconic, off-road-ready Jeep Wrangler, we aren't the only ones who have been clamoring for an oil-burning engine behind that famous seven-slat grille. To that end, it appears there's good news on the horizon, as Jeep CEO Mike Manley recently told Ward's Auto that the "Wrangler is on the radar to get (a) diesel."
"I'm confident that the Grand Cherokee will show just how large a demand there is for diesel, and I think what that will do is reinforce the need for us to target Wrangler as a vehicle that can take a diesel," Manley told Ward's. The most rugged of Jeeps is scheduled to get an overhaul around 2015-16, and the diesel powertrain will likely be introduced around that time.
This year alone, Chrysler will be adding a diesel engine to the Grand Cherokee SUV, as well as the Ram 1500 pickup and Promaster utility van.

UPDATE: Video of Mike Manley confirming the Grand Cherokee SRT Hellcat has been added. In one of the worst kept secrets in the auto industry, Jeep has confirmed that the Grand Cherokee SRT Hellcat is coming. The news comes from Vvuzz, which has Jeep CEO Mike Manley on camera confirming the monstrous SUV. Manley confirmed that the Jeep, which we hope will offer the same 707-horsepower version of Chrysler's 6.2-liter, supercharged V8 as the Dodge Challenger and Charger, will arrive before the end of 2017. This, friends, is grand news. By the time the Grand Cherokee Hellcat arrives, it'll be faced with an array of high-performance challengers from BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Land Rover, and Porsche. But, if things stay the way they are with the competition and SRT engineers can bring the Hellcat engine's full output to bear on an all-wheel-drive platform, the Grand Cherokee will have a power advantage ranging from 130 to 157 hp. It's one thing to best the competition by a dozen horsepower, it's entirely different to outgun them by an entire Toyota Corolla.
