Great looking rust free 1986 Jeep CJ-7 with 4.2l i6 and automatic transmission.

I bought this jeep and just can't justify keeping it around as the wife wants something both of us can have fun with...I see a pink corvette in the future:)

It is really a nice car and I've gotten many comments about it.  Runs very well and smooth.  Highway speeds at 55-65 are not an issue.  All gauges function.  The electrical is clean (for a cj) and is in working order.  The 4wd engages and runs as it should.  The jeep does not currently have heat ($200 tops).  Lights, turn signals all work.

Dana 44 rear,  tires are 33x12.5x15

I only have the bikini top and half doors.

A few details ( I do not have majority of the receipts, they were given to me by previous owner however I didn't keep them thinking I'd have this for ever)
The following has been done within the last 10k miles
- new frame (not a reused frame or refurb but an actual new frame)
- rebuilt transmition
- rebuilt engine
- new floor boards where needed
- new master cylinder
- new stainless brake lines
- rear brake overhaul
- new speaker
- new paint ( very nice but not an 8k show quality job)
- much more
- new fuel control module
- power steering
- rhino lines interior
- power steering (stock)

Chrysler axes old V6s, goes all-Pentastar

Tue, 03 Sep 2013

Old technology has a way of lingering on, particularly at Chrysler headquarters in Auburn Hills. So while the Pentastar V6 has replaced the older engine architecture in just about every application, it still soldiered on in some export markets. But the introduction of a new 3.0-liter Pentastar V6, produced in Michigan and meant only for the Chinese market, has put the final nail in the old engine's coffin.
Fitted into the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler just introduced to China at the Chengdu Motor Show, the downsized six uses the same architecture as the larger 3.6-liter Pentastar V6. But because of its 2,997cc capacity, it can be exported to China without the increased duty the 3.6-liter or even 3.2-liter Pentastar engines would incur. The 3.0-liter V6 develops 230 horsepower at 6,350 rpm and 210 pound-feet at 4,400 rpm.
Admittedly, it's unlikely, but even though the engine was said to be created solely to undercut tax thresholds in China and Europe, the 3.0-liter Pentastar has recently surfaced in rumors of an application here: as the boosted heart of a potential Cherokee SRT with anywhere from 375 to 410 hp.

Jeep gunning to build 250,000 Cherokees a year

Thu, 21 Mar 2013

Contrary to what a certain politician may have said last year about Jeep moving to China, the automaker is in fact doing the opposite, with plans to greatly increase the production capacity at its Toledo North Assembly plant in Ohio. The Detroit Free Press is reporting that there are big plans for the 2014 Jeep Cherokee and Toledo North, as a local union president has informed the newspaper that Chrysler is planning to produce around 250,000 examples of the new midsize utility per year.
To put this number into context, 250,000 units is more than what Jeep Liberty sales totaled here over the last three years combined. Even taking into consideration that the 250,000 units will be distributed beyond US borders, that's an ambitious volume figure full-stop - and that's without taking into consideration the new Cherokee's love/hate design. In its favor, though, Jeep is making remarkable inroads globally as of late, and the Cherokee's size could work well in emerging markets. To get that kind of output from Toledo's Cherokee assembly line, Chrysler will reportedly hire 1,105 new workers - that's in addition to the 200 workers already being hired to build the popular Jeep Wrangler, which is itself expected to top 220,000 units this year.
