Up for sale is my 1986 Jeep CJ7.  This CJ has been gone through bolt by bolt and many components, such as the drivetrain, are relatively new.  The parts list is extensive and only the best has been used.  This CJ can easily tackle the Rubicon yet can drive 70 mph down the highway with a pinky on the steering wheel.  There is no rust in the typical places: floor pan, quarter panels, etc.  The entire Jeep is in really good condition.  There are some scratches here and there (see top front of hood) and a void, bolt holes, where I removed the old tire carrier.  I will do my best to represent the Jeep in the pictures.  There is a small leak from the transfer case.  I spoke with Advanced Adapters, Atlas, and it is a relatively easy fix.  I have the bolt and yoke washer that will fix the leak and I am told it is a 20 minute job when the axles are removed.  I haven't the time or energy to fix with work and family.  This can go months or even a couple of years without losing enough fluid.

I am selling the Jeep since I do not get around to enjoying it with everything going on.  I have put less than a 1000 miles in the last couple of years.  It would take probably $40K to build something similar, the axles are almost $12K alone for the pair.  $2500 for the transfer case, $1000 for the bumper/tire carrier, $500 headers, ARB, Wilwood, and the list goes on...

Train derailment leaves Jeep, GMC, Chevy pickups damaged in Nevada

Thu, Jul 11 2019

An unfortunate train derailment is causing some inevitable delays for pickup truck customers west of Nevada. Yesterday morning, 33 train cars derailed in Lincoln County, and the cargo that was being transported consisted of new Jeep Gladiators and Wranglers along with Chevrolet Silverados and GMC Sierras, judging from the photos released by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. The train derailment also caused the adjacent road to be closed, and local law enforcement recommends the area is to be avoided as long as it takes to clean it all up. In the photos, damaged Jeeps and other trucks sit either on their wheels or shiny-side-down as the incident is being assessed. Available information says there were thankfully no personal injuries, but itÂ’s not likely any of these trucks will end up in customer hands, even with a significant discount. Pre-registration transport damage, significant or not, has often resulted in scrapping complete vehicles so that manufacturers can steer clear of liability issues. Hooniverse.com, which also reported on the incident, notes a couple of interesting things. Firstly, the upended Gladiator seems to have a pretty sturdy support structure for its glasshouse, thanks to its new rollbars. Another matter is that the GM trucks, also pictured, wear discreet and temporary transport steel wheels instead of fancier items, perhaps to deter thieves eager to grab a shiny set from trucks on their way to the dealer. Still, itÂ’s a shame these vehicles could never fulfill their hauling purposes in the hands of new owners. Perhaps the manufacturers can at least use the damage for data-gathering purposes. Jeep teases its Easter Safari Wrangler concepts

Wed, Mar 29 2017

Every year ahead of the Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Jeep shows off some wild concepts based on Jeep products. They usually don't make it to production, but they do get the fans very, very excited. If you'll remember last year, the company showed off a Hellcat-powered Wrangler concept called the Trailcat and some retro-inspired pickups, like a neo-Forward Control and one resembling the classic military Kaiser M715. This year, we're getting a sneak preview of two of the concepts Jeep will be showing off. Details are sketchy and the images aren't very revealing, but such is the way of teasers. Let's start with the Switchback, which appears to be a Wrangler Unlimited that features metal doors with large cutaways in them. They look like a cross between factory metal half-doors and the tubular trail doors that are a popular aftermarket add-on. It also appears to feature a bumper-mounted winch and a special top with a roof basket. The second concept is the Quicksand, which appears to be a two-door Wrangler with cut-down fenders, a roll cage, and no B-pillar aft of the door. Could it be a dune buggy of sorts, a Jeep analogue to the Baja Bugs or Meyers Manxs so popular in the 1960s and 1970s? It's hard to tell, but all will be revealed soon. Related Video:

More information: An additional 2,095 vehicles in Canada, 538 in Mexico, and 2,472 outside the NAFTA region are also affected by this recall. Questions?
