If you are looking for a cool Jeep, your search is over. I have a Custom 1984 Jeep CJ7 that has been through a complete nut and bolt frame off restoration completed in 2007 and still looks good today, about 15,000 miles later.

It was built to be a driver and is a good one at that. It has a rebuilt 360 engine from a 1984 Jeep Grand Wagoneer that runs great.

It has a rebuilt 727 Torque Flight transmission with B&M shift kit.

It has Chevy 6 lug axles with 12 bolt rear end and Dana 44 front with 4.11 gear.

Jeep has not been off road since its restoration, but was built to go anywhere.

Tires are 35/12.50/15 that have about 95% tread on them.

Interior is all new in 2013 with high back seats, fold down rear seat and carpeting.

The paint job is still clean except for minor flaws. Hood is dented slightly due wind blowing open while at a car show. Jeep is still very presentable and receives many comments and double takes from it's appearance.

Pictures and receipts of restoration are available. The restoration started with a clean straight solid body.

Includes the full cover with doors, bikini top and a cover to use to keep the rain out when top is off.

This jeep is a good driver for a Jeep.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles: The next five years

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past 24 hours, you've no doubt read about all of the big future product news coming out of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles today. We had individual brand reports from Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Maserati and even Ferrari, but in the interest of simplifying and summarizing, we're going to list out the hard facts once more. Of course, with all of this still off in the future, there's still the possibility that a few changes will be made. But as of what we know right now, here's what's coming, and what's going away.

Side-X-Sides: The next Wrangler?

The Jeep Wrangler has a huge following, but I've long thought that it is ripe for plucking. And if rumors of a neo-Bronco prove to be true, it sounds like Ford may agree. If a new Bronco does pan out, I hope it's small like the original Bronco, and not a huge F-150-based vehicle. To be a true Wrangler-fighter it has to be small and nimble. Here's another option How about developing a slightly larger, but street-legal version of the popular side-x-sides which are so popular with hunters, fishermen, farmers and anyone outdoors-oriented? This, to me, seems to be the next logical evolution of these side-x-sides. Currently side-x-sides have to be either trailered or stuffed into the back a of a pickup to wherever they're going to be used. Offering a street-legal off-roader solves that problem. There's no shortage of side-x-side makers out there. Any one of them could engineer and market such a vehicle, should they decide to. Plus there are plenty of dealer outlets, although Honda is the only one that currently sells cars, etc.; so they could have an edge in the selling and servicing aspects of such a vehicle. That said, I'm not sure Honda would want to sell such a vehicle in their car outlets. It may be better suited to their dealers that sell motorcycles, ATVs, watercraft, etc., as that outdoorsman type of customer already frequents those dealers. Then again, if the new Ridgeline proves popular, such a vehicle could offer something much more capable and sporting to that customer who is looking for something more extreme. The Wrangler has its fans, and they love it just as it stands. In fact Wrangler fans would reject any drastic engineering changes to their beloved off-roaders Side-x-sides, on the other hand, offer a completely different take on how to engineer a small but serious off-roader. Both are valid approaches. Currently the only thing missing are street-legal side-x-sides that go head-to-head against the Wrangler.
