Up for sale is my beautiful 1983 jeep cj8 scrambler. This jeep has spent the last 12 years in sunny California on an avocado farm and grape vineyard. It was rarely used and when it was it was just to putt around and check on crops!.It only has 43,400 miles on it!!!!!

The body and frame are in excellent shape and had almost no rust. I had the body removed and sandblasted to make sure there was nothing hiding underneath the faded paint. While the body was off I cleaned up the frame and undercarriage and checked everything to verify it was in good shape. With such low miles everything seemed to be in great working order and condition.

The jeep is equipped with the factory 258 straight 6 engine with an automatic transmission and a Dana 300 transfer case, all stock. I just recently tuned it up with new spark plugs, spark plug wires, cap, rotor, air filter, fuel filter, fuel pump, and all new fluids. The carburetor was also rebuilt. I flushed the transmission fluid and changed out the filter and strainer filter and replaced the pan with a new gasket! The differentials are the Dana 30 up front and model 20 rear, both with new chrome diff covers and new oil. Breaks are in good shape and stops nicely.

The body I had painted inside, underneath and outside with 3 coats of black and 3 coats of clear. I then had the bed only lined for durability and protection. The body was put back on with new body mounts and bolts, and received a wet sand and buff job to give the paint a great mirror finish!! I then had factory scrambler Laredo decals put on to really finish it off with that classic scrambler look we all love!

The interior has new front seats and a great condition factory back seat, with some charcoal gray carpet. The jeep was put back together with brand new stainless steel hinges and hardware. New tail lights and front marker lights were installed as the old ones were faded and oxidized. I also just put in a new windshield.

All in all the jeep was finished and it now looks great and drives really great. It is very smooth when it takes off, the automatic shifts nicely and quietly. It tracks down the road very well and handles all the bumps with ease. It is the perfect Sunday cruiser or show car or beach jeep or whatever you want it to be. Every time I get in and drive it puts a smile on my face, and I constantly get compliments anywhere I go!!! The blinkers and gauges all work with the exception of the gas gauge but I am trying to work on that. The 2 things that I was unable to get to that I would replace is the center console top pad is faded ripped from being in the sun, and the front bumper has 2 small dents in it. Other than that I would say that the jeep is in very excellent condition and it truly drives like it did when it was new. You can tell it has low miles just by the way it feels and drives, so smooth.!!

This jeep has had a ton of time and money put into it and it was already a really nice jeep to start out with so it has received great care throughout its whole life. Please bid with confidence and you will not be disappointed with you're purchase!! It is a true classic jeep and it looks, feels, and drives like one. It will last many years to come if shown the same respect it already has! Thanks for looking and Happy Bidding!!!

I am happy to help with shipping I have a friend that moves cars and deals with shippers.

Please only bid if you have the money and are ready to pay, I am great to deal with and will get you you're jeep quick. Thanks!

You probably won't see FCA's famous Easter eggs on an Alfa Romeo

Thu, Nov 17 2016

They started in Jeeps, with images of seven-slot grilles showing up on windshield edges, the text "SINCE 1941" appearing in the clear plastic of headlight units, and a relief map of Moab engraved into a rubber cubby liner. Then a Chrysler got a map of Detroit and the outline of Laguna Seca materialized near the Viper's window switch. We've come to call them Easter eggs, but Klaus Busse points out that they were never really meant to be secrets, just ways to dress up what he calls "dead plastic." He's nevertheless cool with the phrase being applied and likes the enthusiastic response these design details get. Busse is intimately familiar with many of them, having signed off on many of them in his time as head interior designer for FCA's US operations. He recently moved to Europe to lead Alfa Romeo, Maserati, and Fiat design there, so when I caught up with him next to the new Stelvio crossover at the Alfa stand in LA, I had to ask: Are we going to see any of those neat design details in Alfas or Maseratis anytime soon? The short answer is no. But he didn't say it's out of the question. Busse said if, for example, a designer wanted to put an Italian phrase somewhere on a car that was in keeping with the brand, he would allow it. Although he didn't come out and say it, it seems like he might feel this type of fun design element isn't necessarily appropriate for a higher-end brand like Alfa. And I get that. But I'm still going to check all the compartments of that new Alfa crossover for a map of the Stelvio Pass. These three automotive Lego kits deserve your suppoort

Sat, Mar 25 2017

Lego has been quite good to car enthusiasts over the past few years. We've seen traditional kits for the classic VW Microbus, Mini Cooper, and the Caterham 620R, as well as an elaborate Technic kit for the 911 GT3 RS. But why stop there? The Lego Ideas page, which allows users to submit ideas with the chance to see their kits reach production, has many more cool car kits we'd love to see. Check them out below, and be sure to log on to vote for them. If a submission hits 10,000 votes, it is considered for production. That's how we got that Caterham kit, so it's worth your time to show your support. Peugeot 205 Turbo 16 This is a submission aimed at becoming one of Lego's Speed Champions kits. These are very small mini-figure scale car models, and the series has included the Ford GT, Audi R18 Le Mans racer, and more. This kit features a tiny version of the Peugeot 205 Turbo 16, a Group B rally racer that gave Peugeot World Rally Championship titles two years in a row. The kit has a well-executed version of the car and its massive rear spoiler on the hatch. It also comes with a big dirt crest for it to fly over, along with amazed spectators on the sidelines. Porsche 911 Turbo 930 We love the GT3 RS Lego kit, but we think it's a little lonely as the only Porsche kit available. Such an impressive Porsche deserves an impressive companion, like this 911 Turbo. It's the 930 version, which is arguably the most famous classic 911 with its turbocharged power, whale-tail wing, and scary driving dynamics thanks to considerable turbo lag and rear-engine handling characteristics. This model is quite large at 1:10 scale, and comes with a detailed interior and exterior. The best part is the remote-control components underneath that allow the car to be driven. Jeep Wrangler JK Moving off the beaten path again, we have this highly detailed Wrangler kit. Actually, we have two kits, as the creator designed both two-door and four-door versions. They both feature removable hard tops, detailed interiors, and big tires. They also come with an assortment of off-road accessories such as auxiliary lights, an off-road jack, winch, gas can, roof rack, and off-road bumper. You can also find various fluid reservoirs and engine details under the opening hood. 2016 Jeep Wrangler to ditch solid axles to save weight?

Tue, 29 Oct 2013

Hey, Jeep fans. If you think the idea of a funky-looking, car-based Cherokee revival is offensive, have a listen to what might be in store for the next-gen Jeep Wrangler. Automotive News is reporting that as Jeep develops the 2016 Wrangler, weight reduction is a crucial target, and the Wrangler's rugged solid axles could be sacrificed in the name of better fuel economy.
We've already heard the next Wrangler will go on a serious diet using aluminum body panels and an air suspension system, so the idea of a four-wheel independent suspension setup for this OG SUV isn't all that surprising. Besides, it's not like an independent suspension would limit the Wrangler's off-road abilities - just check out the Hummer H1. In fact, it might be the aftermarket parts companies - not Wrangler enthusiasts - who would be most disappointed by such a drastic suspension change, as the article states that the Wrangler's solid axles and coil-link suspension make it the most popular SUV for customization.
There are probably still a couple years before we'll start hearing any concrete details about the 2016 Wrangler, at which time it will be interesting to see how stricter fuel economy and crash safety regulations have been balanced with traditional Wrangler cues like its removable doors and roof and folding windshield. Let us know in the comments below if a Wrangler sans solid axles is any less of a Wrangler.
