This is a 1983 Jeep CJ-7. It was a frame off restoration in late 2009. It was an upgrade restoration, not a show vehicle restoration. This Jeep was built to be used.

THE GOOD:

Clear Alabama title in Hand !!
All Guages Work !
The red "Brake" light and the "4wd" indicator in the cluster work !
Fender, hood, grill, tailgate, and windshield frame are all OEM and in great shape.
The tub is in great shape for it's age except for the small areas of rust in the usual places.
This Jeep has lots of usable upgrades. It is not a show stopper or a Hot Rod.
258 6 cylinder with DUI distributor, Motorcraft 2100 carburator, aftermarket aluminum valve cover.
T-5  5 speed transmission
Dana 30 front end with 3.31 gears
Amc 20 rear end with 3.31 gears
Power Steering  (M.O.R.E. Power Steering Box mount installed with rebuilt Power steering box less than 500 miles ago)
Power Brakes
Dirtworks front bumper
Rusty's 3"  springs and shocks installed ( less than 1000 miles ago )
5 Factory 15" X 7" wheels with Factory Center Caps
5 235 X 15 BFG Long Trail Radials
OEM Laredo Seats in great shape !
OEM 20 gallon plastic gas tank
OEM Draw Bar
OEM under dash lights
OEM intermittent wipers
YJ "family" bar installed
Swapped to TJ seat belts
3' Nerf Bars
Duplicolor Roll in Bedliner inside of tub
Poly body mounts and spring bushings
YJ half doors (still painted dark green, I never got them painted)
Bestop Supertop in great shape, all zippers work, only minor scratches in windows
Delta tool box mounted behind the rear seat.
Tuffy Security Console w/Stereo compartment (no radio installed)

THE BAD:

This Jeep marks it's territory ! If you are not sure what that means this may not be the Jeep for you !
The right front fender flare is shot. These are 1985 OEM flares and the sun has not been kind to them.
The right rear corner of the tub has been repaired where the Prius run under it but has not been painted.
The entire left side panel of this Jeep was replaced at some point in time before I bought it. They did a good job. I just want you to know up front.
There are small rust bubbles starting to form under the Jeep logo on both sides.
There are small rust bubbles starting on the left side of the cowl just below the hinge.
There are small pinholes in the passenger floor board where the previous owner had a roll cage bolted in. They used carpet as a gasket and it held water.
The right rear axle seal has started to leak. If you use the "Buy It Now" option I will include a set of brand new Superior One Piece Axles.
The indicator lights for the wipers and the headlights do not work. I will include new OEM ones to replace them with.

This is not a highway Jeep !!  At 60 MPH things happen quickly with the short wheelbase and power steering ! The ride is firm but not harsh.

BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING !

BMW tops Consumer Reports 2023 Brand Report Card

Thu, Feb 16 2023

Feels like we wrote about Consumer Reports' 2022 Brand Report Car and 10 Top Picks a few weeks ago, but it was last April. So the mag is back with a ranked roster of 32 brands and 10 vehicles in four categories for your debating pleasure. Starting with the brands, last year's top three were Subaru, Mazda and BMW. This year, the Munich crew climbed two spots to win the prize thanks to "Superb road test scores and solid results in CR’s reliability and owner satisfaction surveys." Subaru narrowly fell to second, maintaining its four-year run in the top three. Mini, eighth last year, jumped five spots to get the last step on the podium. The rest of the top 10 were Lexus (up one spot from last year), Honda (down one spot from last year), Toyota (up three), Genesis (up 12), Mazda (down six), Audi (down three) and Kia (up eight). The magazine and testing outfit says its Brand Report Card "[reveals] which automakers are producing the most well-performing, safe, and reliable vehicles based on CRÂ’s independent testing and member surveys," and that "Brands that rise to the top tend to have the most consistent performance across their model lineups." Last year's top 10 had six automakers from Japan, three from Germany (giving Mini credit for England), none from the U.S. or South Korea, and five luxury brands. This year's list counts five makes from Japan, two from Germany because Porsche fell out of the top ten, two from South Korea, still none from the U.S., and four luxury brands. Buick again ranked as the best domestic, dropping to 12th after being 11th last year. The big mover was Lincoln, its 10-place jump up to 16th attributed to better reliability from the Corsair and Nautilus. Tesla's improved overall reliability saw it climb six spots to 17th. Dodge climbed one spot to 15th. Jeep got out of the penalty box in last to come second-to-last. Land Rover fell three places into the penalty spot.  CR's top 10 vehicle models The 10 Top Picks list is practically a new list. Only two holdovers made it to 2023, those being the Subaru Forester and Kia Telluride.

Jeep will build old Wranglers next to new ones in Toledo

Mon, Mar 21 2016

Jeep made a lot of people happy when it confirmed that the next-generation Wrangler would continue to be built in Toledo, OH. Now, news is breaking about the lengths the automaker will go to in updating its northern Ohio factory. There's good news for Jeep dealers (more Wranglers to sell!), Jeep fans (more JKs to buy!), and Jeep itself (more money to be made!). According to a report from Automotive News, capacity at the factory will be increased to 350,000 units per year. That's around a 50 percent increase over what the Toledo complex can currently manage and is, according to Jeep boss Mike Manley, part of a move to keep production "at the right place" so "supply [stays] just behind demand." The other big news revealed by the AN report focuses on the future of the current Wrangler. Yes, the current JK has a future. It'll continue to be built at the Toledo factory up to six months after it successor arrives in showrooms, a move that's partially down to the way Jeep is shuffling production about. Toledo currently builds the Cherokee on a unibody production line – it'll continue to do so until March of 2017, when production will move to Belvidere, IL. The unibody line in Toledo will then be converted for body-on-frame production, which should take about six months. But during that time, the current JK (likely rebadged as a "Wrangler Classic") will continue to be built alongside another line of next-generation Wranglers, keeping dealers supplied with the today's Wrangler through March of 2018. The two Wranglers will overlap for about six months. This is all very good news if you've been waiting to pull the trigger on today's Wrangler. But move quickly – the clock is officially ticking. Chrysler defies NHTSA, says it won't recall 2.7M Jeep Grand Cherokee, Liberty models

Wed, 05 Jun 2013

Facing a possible recall totaling around 2.7 million of its most popular SUVs, Chrysler remains insistent that the 1993-2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2002-2007 Jeep Liberty are safe vehicles. This comes on the heels of a recall request from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for these two models due to fuel tanks mounted behind the rear axle, which could possibly be ruptured during severe rear-end collisions, leading to an increased risk of fire. In response to the allegations, Chrysler says that it does not agree with NHTSA nor does it plan on recalling either vehicle.
Chrysler said both SUVs "met and exceeded" the requirements for fuel-system integrity, and cooperated fully with NHTSA since the investigation was opened in 2010. While 15 deaths and 46 injuries have been reported from fires caused by rear-end collisions on these models, Chrysler is claiming that the vast majority of incidents cited by NHTSA were "high-energy crashes," including one where a stopped Grand Cherokee was rear-ended by a tractor trailer going 65 miles per hour.
The automaker wraps up by saying "NHTSA seems to be holding Chrysler Group to a new standard for fuel tank integrity that does not exist now and did not exist when the Jeep vehicles were manufactured." Scroll down for Chrysler's official response to NHTSA, but we're pretty sure this isn't the last we've heard on this issue.
