1982 Jeep Cj-8 Scrambler on 2040-cars
Louisville, Kentucky, United States
Up for auction is a 1982 Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler that has 96800 orginial miles on it and is in overall great shape! This Jeep was bought new and spent all of it's life down South in the Knoxsville TN area so has very minimal rust. Alot of money has been put into this jeep over the last 5 years including, new Best Top full soft top, new 33 inch tires with black wagon wheels, new paint job, rhino lined interior and truck bed, new weber carb, new battery are just a few of the things. This jeep has the 258ci straight 6 with the t-4 transmission and it runs very nice down the road! The jeep really doesn't need much but is not perfect....some of the things that would need attention to get it perfect are as follows. 1) the paint has some issues in some area...mainly both the driver and passenger rear quarters (no rust just the paint starting to crack as seen in pics) 2) both hard doors in the black section the paint needs to be redone there as well to make perfect. 3) The transmission needs to be adjusted or possible syncronizers...1-2 shifts a little notchy at times and you can't down shift to 1st with double shifting....from 2-4 shifts no probem. 4) rear main seal drips but most jeeps of this age do. 5) fuel gauge works but sometimes can be erratic. I just want someone looking to purchase this to know everything about the jeep. All other guages work perfect including oil pressure, clock, tacohmeter, voltage. This is a good honest driver quality jeep and really doesn't need much to be perfect! I have set the reserve low so this CJ is going to be priced to sell....I also have this listed locally so the reserve the right to end auction at anytime. Also I have perfect feedback and long history on ebay so bid with confidence. I can send additional pics (roughly 20 more if you email me to request them). Will be putting a youtube clip of the jeep starting/running and a walk around asap! thanks!

Chrysler delays 2014 Jeep Cherokee media launch
Tue, 30 Jul 2013Chrysler is making the unusual move of delaying the first media drives of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, which were slated to start next week in Seattle. And while something like this is a rare occurrence, and one that most of the Autoblog staff can't recall happening this publicly or so close to the event itself, it won't effect the actual on-sale date of the new Cherokee, which is set to hit showrooms in September.
"Over the last couple of weeks during final quality and durability testing, we have discovered the opportunity to further improve powertrain calibration," Chrysler told Automotive News. This marks the second notable delay in the Cherokee's short life, after production was delayed for roughly a month earlier this summer.
Still, we'd rather Chrysler make sure the Cherokee is ready for primetime before flying media in from around the country. It shows a willingness to get things right the first time, rather than offering media drives and then tweaking the car after the fact.
Some Jeep Cherokees and Chrysler 200s to get standard stop-start in 2015
Wed, 25 Jun 2014Automakers the world over are striving to find ways to make their models more efficient, and Chrysler has a solution for some versions of the 2015 Chrysler 200 and 2015 Jeep Cherokee (2014 model shown). The Tigershark 2.4-liter four-cylinder in the 200 and the 3.2-liter Pentastar V6 in the Cherokee are getting a slight boost later this year thanks to the addition of Chrysler's Engine Stop-Start system as standard equipment. The company predicts modest gains - a three-percent improvement in fuel economy and a three percent reduction in CO2 emissions with the new tech compared to without it. While it's not much, those who sit in traffic a lot may see a difference.
Chrysler's stop/start system uses a high-speed starter motor to restart the vehicle in a claimed a third of a second. It works by detecting when the vehicle comes to a stop and turning off the engine. A more powerful battery maintains all of the model's accessories while it sits. When the driver lets off the brake, the car starts up again to drive away. There is even a button in the cabin to turn the ESS off, if desired.
The Jeep will be the first to receive ESS in the third quarter of this year to coincide with the start of production of the 2015 model-year version. The 200 will follow in the fourth quarter as a rolling change in production.
Jeep launches new ad with unreleased Michael Jackson track
Fri, 09 May 2014We've recently heard much about how Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne plans to pump up the volume on Jeep sales, inaugurating new models and global dealerships. But that's the stuff outlined in five-year plans; right now, advertising and special editions are at the fore, and the late Michael Jackson, too. Jeep has begun airing two commercials to push its Altitude Editions, Call of Summer and Lovers of the Game, that feature the song "Love Never Felt So Good" from Jackson's upcoming album of new music.
A little more star power - and timely, too - comes from Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving. While Call of Summer features a few short shots of the former Rookie of the Year and two-time NBA All-Star, Lovers of the Game is all about his white Wrangler Altitude Edition and wrangling shots. You can watch both spots below, and if you want to hear the rest of the music track before the album hits, you can download it from iTunes.
