Texas Classic Cars of Dallas is proud to present this classic 1981 Jeep CJ8 Scrambler. This Jeep is in exceptional condition. It is a blast to drive and ready for someone to really enjoy.

Many of our photos were taken at the Dallas Love Field Frontiers of Flight Museum, located only minutes from our showroom. If you find yourself in Dallas, Texas, be sure to visit the Flight Museum.

The exterior is finished in red base/clearcoat. The paint shows well throughout as does the body.

The bumpers are custom, polished front & rear. The front bumper also features a 2-speed electric winch.

There are auxillary fuel and water cans mounted to the rear along with a matching spare 31-inch Dunlop tire/wheel.

This rugged stance is partially thanks to the custom American Racing 15-inch wheels wrapped in Dunlop Rover Radial tires sized at 31x10.5R15LT all around.

The soft doors and top and are in great shape. We also have full hard doors and a hardtop, pictured below. The hard doors are painted and finished to match the red, in Red. The door glass and tracks are intact and functional. The interior door panels are black vinyl, in great shape. The hardtop is also good and solid, finished in black with a white underside.

Although undetailed, the hard top and doors are in very good condition. They just need cleaning.

The interior features custom two-tone black vinyl front upholstered front bucket seating & a rear bench seat.

The dash features the original gauges along with a removable face AM/FM CD Stereo. This is a factory 4-speed manual shift Jeep. The transmission and engine are in great shape. This one is fun to drive. This Jeep is also equipped with air conditioning.

The engine compartment displays the correct inline-6 cylinder engine. This powerplant runs smooth with good power, paired with the factory 4-speed manual transmission. This Jeep is highway friendly its 31" tires, power front disc brakes & steering.

The firewall and inner fenders are in great shape, as is the core support.

The undercarriage is in good condition throughout. This is a dry climate Jeep and it shows.

TAX, TITLE AND LICENSE

We are a licensed Texas dealership. It is required that we collect all tax, title and license fees from Texas residents at the time of the sale. We will do all of the title work. Non Texas residents are responsible for paying taxes in his/her state. Overseas customers will be charged a $30.00 fee for wire transfers. We must collect a vehicle inventory tax of .002277% and a small documentary fee of $75.00 on ALL sales.

Chrysler recalling 644k more Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs over brakes

Early last month, we reported on Chrysler issuing a preemptive, proactive recall for about 25,000 units of the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango. The issue revolved around a brake system that wasn't causing any actual problems, but delivered an unsatisfactory brake feel, so Auburn Hills called in a good 25,000 of SUVs around the world, including 18,700 in the United States.
Now Chrysler, having apparently determined that the brake problem on its sport utes is actually much bigger than it initially realized, has drastically broadened the scope of the recall. As a result, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for precisely 655,354 examples of the Grand Cherokee and Durango, covering the 2011 through 2014 model years. In addition, Chrysler is recalling 42,380 units in Canada, 21,376 in Mexico and 159,685 overseas.
The problem which Chrysler found revolves around the brake booster, whose center shell has been found to be subject to corrosion, allowing water to get into the brake system. That water in turn could freeze, preventing the brakes from working as well as expected.

FCA expands Jeep Cherokee recall to 68k more vehicles

FCA is expanding its airbag software update for the 2014 and 2015 Jeep Cherokee to cover 68,593 more of the vehicles worldwide. This brings the total to 316,774 Cherokees. Of those, there are now 230,240 in the US, 28,110 in Canada, 6,367 in Mexico, and 52,057 outside of NAFTA. According to the automaker, after reviewing the potentially affected population, it discovered these additional Cherokees in need of the upgrade. The original campaign to repair these vehicles was announced in early February. Engineers found a small number of cases where dramatic changes to the angle of the vehicle that upset its balance caused the side-curtain and seat-mounted side airbags to deploy because they anticipated a rollover. This especially occurred when driving off-road. According to FCA, there're no additional reports of this happening, and the company isn't aware of any injuries or accidents. The fix is simply a software upgrade that recalibrates the airbags' deployment. The campaign will upgrade software that governs side-curtain and seat-mounted side air bags following a small number of inadvertent deployments – most of which occurred in harsh, off-road environments. They were prompted by maneuvers that dramatically changed the vehicles' angle of operation, relative to the ground, and the air-bag systems Â– sensing potential rollover conditions Â– automatically activated. The software upgrade will recalibrate the threshold for deployment and the vehicles will remain compliant with all applicable safety regulations. Affected are certain 2014 and 2015 Jeep Cherokees. The revised estimate for the U.S. totals 230,240. Revised estimates for other markets are as follows: 28,110 in Canada; 6,367 in Mexico and 52,057 outside the NAFTA region.
