I PURCHASED THIS 1981 JEEP CJ-7 OVER 10 YEARS AGO AS A PROJECT.   THE BODY CAME AS YOU SEE IT WITH FIBERGLASS FRONT FENDERS AND A 85 UP TUB.  I REMOVED THE AMC 258 6 CYLINDER ENGINE AND SENT IT OUT TO HAVE IT PROFESSIONALY REBUILT. AT THE SAME TIME I INSTALLED A ALUMINUM INTAKE, HEI IGNITION AND A HOLLEY 650 OFF ROAD CARB ( WILL NOT RUN OUT OF FUEL GOING UP HILLS), HEADER, NEW CLUTCH PRESSURE PLATE DISC AND BEARING.  4 SPEED TRANSMISSION AND TRANSFER CASE HAVE NO PROBLEMS. THIS LIFTED JEEP SITS ON A SET OF 35X12.50 TIRES WITH A MATCHING SPARE.  TIRES ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.

OVER THE YEARS I HAVE REMOVED THE REAR 3 PIECE AXLE AND INSTALLED A YUKON ONE PIECE LIMITED SLIP. ALSO I HAD A CUSTOM FRONT BUMPER MADE INCLUDING A RAMSEY 8000LB WINCH WITH REMOTE CABLE.  JEEP DOES HAVE A MARINE RADIO, C.B. AND HEATER FOR THE COLD DAYS.  REAR SPEAKER BOX WHICH HAS MISC TOOLS, JACK, WINCH CABLE ETC. ETC CAN BE REMOVED. (SEE PICS).  SEATS HAVE COVERS ON THEM IN PICTURES WHICH MATCH THE GRAY BIMINI TOP. ORIGINAL SEATS ARE TAN AND IN GOOD CONDTION.

PLEASE NOTE ALL THE EXTRAS!!!      TAN SOFT DORS, TAN BIMINI TOP FULL TAN TOP, REAR SPARE TIRE CARRIER AND ALL BRACKETS NEEDED TO INSTALL THE TOP....

I HAVE TRIED TO TAKE DETAILED PICTURES OF THIS JEEP, IF YOU HAVE QUESTION PLEASE ASK. I HAVE INVESTED OVER 9,000 DOLLARS THRU THE YEARS ON THIS JEEP.  THIS JEEP IS DEPENDABLE AND RUNS AND DRIVES GOOD... NO PROBLEMS WHAT SO EVER!!!!!    500.00 DOLLAR NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT,  CASH AT TIME OF PICK-UP, I COULD POSSIBLY HELP WITH DELIVERY OR SHIPPING... THANKS.

Jeep Wrangler likely to get aluminum body, will stay in Toledo

Mon, 27 Oct 2014

Perhaps more than any other vehicle currently for sale in the United States, the Jeep Wrangler is viewed by purist fans as a vehicle that simply must maintain the status quo. In this case, that means a body-on-frame design, solid axles, a relatively large engine sitting up front and a removable top. It's always been that way, and it always will be.
Maybe.
According to the most recent reports, the next-generation Jeep will continue to soldier forth with a full steel chassis underneath its stamped bodywork. The biggest change, reports Automotive News, will be that said panels will be hewn from aluminum instead of steel, a seismic shift of a transition not unlike what's happened with the new Ford F-150. Because it won't be a unibody, the SUV will likely continue to be assembled in Toledo, OH as it (almost) always has been - the latter has been a source of heartburn in recent weeks for the Northwestern city in the Buckeye State.

'84 MotorWeek Cherokee, Bronco and Blazer comparison indulges your SUV nostalgia

Fri, Jan 16 2015

These days, truck-based, full-frame SUVs are somewhat of a rarity on the auto landscape due to the rapid rise in popularity of easier-driving, car-based crossovers. Although, without the gradually building popularity of these chunky, high-riding vehicles decades ago, it's unlikely that America's roads would be filled with so many CUVs today. In its latest dig into the archives, MotorWeek has found a 1984 comparison test of a trio of these early Sport Utility Wagons, as long-time host John Davis called them, that helped get acceptance of this segment going. This is a red, white and blue test of the SUVs from American automakers at the time and pits the Chevrolet Blazer, Ford Bronco and Jeep Cherokee (specifically in Wagoneer guise) against each other. Driving manners and interior usability are considered in the evaluation, but Motorweek actually takes these vehicles off road, too. Among the bigger revelations is the improvement in on-road ability in the past 30 years. While specific 0-60 times aren't given, all three models take around 10 seconds just to get to around 50 miles per hour in the 500-feet on-ramp acceleration test. Check out this clip to see just how far this segment has progressed in the past three decades or just get a blast of nostalgia from these now vintage models.
