I have a 1979 Jeep CJ7 up for auction. The Jeep has a 304 V8 engine that runs perfect. The starter drags a little sometimes, but I have a new starter that I will have installed before the Jeep sells. It has an automatic transmission that shifts smooth. The Jeep has power steering, power disc brakes, cruise control and air conditioning. The air conditioning is not hooked up under the dash, but the compressor, lines and belt are all there and are on the Jeep. I have two sets of wheels and tires for the Jeep. One set has Michelin LTX 31x10.50x15 tires with over 50% tread on them on 15x7 wheels. I also have 15x10 wheels with 31x10.50x15 tires with 75% tread. I also have 15x8 wheels that go with the Jeep also. I have the hardware for a soft top with the soft doors also that goes with the Jeep. The Jeep has perfect front seats and a back seat with 1 small place at a seam that is busted at the threads. The brakes work perfect, the steering is tight and does not wander when driving. The quadra-trac works as it should with the button is the dash. The transfer case works good with the shift lever in the floor board. The heater controls work good and it has an excellent heater and defroster. The gauges work also, even the gas gauge !!! It has a new gas tank, lines and sending unit. The Jeep has had some minor rust repair and a paint job, but the paint has some fish-eye. It looks good, but when you get real close you can see the fish eye look in the paint job. The Jeep looks good and drives good. I have a cd player and speakers that go with the Jeep also. You will have to cut the dash to install it though. Good hard-top and doors, glasses roll up and down good. Jeep has cruise control also, tub has been rhino lined. I have some off-road lights that go with the Jeep also. I also have the jack and lug wrench with the Jeep. All the seat belts are in the Jeep also, front and back.

NYIAS: 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk, ooh-rah!
Tue, Apr 5 2016I was very happy to see Jeep offer a stand-alone, off-road-oriented model to the Grand Cherokee for 2017, the Trailhawk. This is not the first time for a GC Trailhawk, as they offered a limited run a few years ago to see if there might be a market for such a model. Looks like there is, as there are Trailhawk models for the Cherokee and Renegade, and now the Grand Cherokee as well. Just to be clear here, Jeep has always offered off-road ready packages (tow hooks, one inch more ground clearance, skid plates) for the Grand Cherokee and Cherokee in the past. They were called "Up Country," or more recently, "Off Road" groups. That was all well and good but, at least where I was living, almost impossible to find. Rarely would you ever find one so-equipped on dealer lots. If you ever saw one on the street, most likely the owner special-ordered it. Having said that, now that I'm living by the beach, I am seeing a few Up Country-equipped older Jeeps; not many, but more than I've seen in the past. As to the new Cherokee and Renegade Trailhawks; I'm seeing a bunch of them. It took a little while for the public to discover this trim level, but now I see them everywhere. Must be the orange tow hooks? Speaking of orange tow hooks... I'm not a big fan of them. Tow hooks for sure, orange ones, not so much; same with the matte black hood decal, not a fan. If I were ever to get a Trailhawk, it would be either dark gray or black, as that effectively hides the hood decal. So Jeep has packaged the Trailhawk as a premium model within each respective model line. While I fully understand the thinking, I do wish Jeep would also offer an entry-level off-road model, one with all the Trailhawk off-road goodness, but minus all the visual and luxury fluff. A lot of off-roaders don't want to pay, or can't pay top dollar for stuff they don't want or need. As to a name, how about "Trail," that being Trailhawk minus the "hawk;" or perhaps "Pioneer?" That's an old name from Cherokees of yesteryear. Back then the Pioneer was positioned as a mid-low level model. I think either name would work well for a back-to-basics-off-road-focused Cherokee and/or Renegade. Content it like the current entry-level Sport or mid-level Latitude models, but include the Trailhawk's off-road prowess. The Grand Cherokee should probably pass on that suggestion, as it would run counter to that model's high-end image. Related Video: Image Credit: Jeep Jeep open road
Chrysler recalling 630k Jeep models worldwide
Thu, 06 Jun 2013Despite its refusal to recall 2.7 million Jeep Grand Cherokee and Liberty models this week over a gas tank fire risk, Chrysler will be recalling 630,000 Jeep Compass (pictured), Patriot and Wrangler vehicles around the globe for a pair of entirely different reasons.
The affected Compass and Patriot models are all from the 2010 to 2012 model years - 254,000 in the United States, 45,400 in Canada and 109,000 elsewhere in the world. In these models, a software error may result in the late deployment of the side airbags and seatbelt tensioners. In the event of a crash, failure of these systems could result in more serious injuries for the vehicle's occupants.
Jeep's go-anywhere Wrangler also faces a separate recall due to power steering fluid lines that can possibly wear a hole in the transmission oil cooler line. According to Chrysler, the vehicles could then leak fluid, possibly damaging the transmissions. Roughly 221,100 Wrangler models are being recalled because of this issue, all of which are fitted with Jeep's 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine. In the US, 181,000 vehicles are affected, with an additional 18,400 in Canada and 21,700 additional units worldwide. A Chrysler spokesperson said that no crashes or injuries have been reported with either case, according to the Associated Press.
