Up for sale is a nice barn find Jeep CJ7.  It has been sitting under a shade tree for a few years and its alive again ready for someone to love it.  I recently just put about $2000 in it.  Heres some of the new parts:  Tires(31x10.50x15), brake booster, cap, rotor, plugs wires, hoses, front brakes, shift boot, door handles, defroster duct, all new fluids, and more.  I put front seats out of a YJ in it with seat covers.  I will throw in the original front seats which match the back seat, which is very nice.  Title says box B so I am unsure if the miles are original, but they could be.

Under the hood is a 258 6 cylinder engine with all the smog equipment on and functioning.  It is matched up to a 3 speed transmission, and of course a transfer case with high and low.  This Jeep features  Warn hubs, power brakes, with disc in the front, power steering, air conditioning (works like a champ!), heater, and front and rear driving lights.

The AC works, the heater and defroster work, all lights work*, turn signals work, wipers, work, the air horn works, yes AIR HORN!, 4X4, works, gas gauge works, speedo works, oil pressure gauge works, volt gauge works, temp gauge works.  Front and rear driving lights.  Tinted windows on the hardtop. Factory rollbar.  Comes with Chilton manual.  The oil pressure at start up is 60 psi, drives at 40-60 psi, and idles at 20psi.

There is very little that does not work on this rig!  Here it is as best as I can describe it:  *The high beam indicator light does not work.  The high and low beams work, just no blue indicator light on the dash, probably a bulb.  The dash is held on buy two stylish straps!  I don't have the key for the rear hatch.  Very slight lean on the left rear.  It runs a little rough when its cold, (probably due to the smog equipment) but purrs like a kitten when its warm.  This has been an Arizona rig for many years but there is a little rust on it, but not much.  You have to hunt to find it.  The carpet is not the greatest.  I have not messed with the sunroof at all.  No radio.  I put the driving light toggle switches in that spot and there is room to add 2 or 3 more switches.  Does it leak?  Of course it does, its a Jeep!

If you want I will throw in the original soft top and doors and frame.  The windows are yellowed and have been chewed up a little but you can have them if you want.  It is white and I have never installed it.

I drive this Jeep to work 4 days a week, 35 miles each way, over a mountain.  Im at 3500 feet, the mountain is 7000 feet.  It drives smooth and quiet and gets around 15mpg.  Keep in mind this is a 1979 so it has a personality but overall its a wonderful classic collectible Jeep.  It is pretty much stock too.    Tires have less than 1000 miles on them.  I welcome questions.

I wont ship it but if you coordinate shipping and pay for it I will assist any way I can.  $500 paypal deposit due immediately and is non refundable, even if you change your mind.  The rest of the money is due within a week and can be cash, check, or money order.  I can store the Jeep for a while too if you want.

Chrysler recalls 468,700 Jeep Grand Cherokees, Commanders over rollaway risk

Mon, 13 May 2013

Chrysler has issued a recall covering a combined 469,000 units of the 2005-2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the 2006-2010 Jeep Commander (inset). Of that number, 295,000 are in the US, roughly 33,000 in Canada and Mexico and the remainder in other markets. It seems an electrical fault in the transfer case can allow the affected SUVs to shift into neutral on their own, while an Associated Press report says that Chrysler had "found cracks in a circuit board that turns the four-wheel-drive system on and off." The issue was discovered when an owner started his car remotely and it rolled away.
Chrysler is expected to begin notifying owners in June 2013, who can then take their cars to dealers. The dealer will reflash the final drive controller free of charge. There's a bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration below with more information.

Jeep Wrangler Copper Crawler is our idea of a restrained Mopar shopping spree

Thu, 07 Nov 2013

According to a recent report, the Jeep Wrangler is the most popular SUV for customization, and this is backed up by the fact that the iconic off-roader was just named the Hottest 4x4-SUV at SEMA for the fourth year in a row. Looking for ways to keep its customers in-house rather than going aftermarket, Jeep and Mopar are always teaming to offer exciting new parts and pieces for the JK Wrangler.
Compared to most other Wranglers on display at SEMA - as well as other Chrysler Mopar SEMA concepts - the Jeep Wrangler Copper Crawler is surprisingly reserved, but should be no less exciting for owners to give their Wrangler a distinctive look. Starting off with an eye-catching copper paint scheme, the Jeep then goes on a Mopar catalog shopping spree with its matte black grille, black beadlock wheels, two-inch lift, Rubicon bumper (with a winch and aero end caps up front) and rocker panel and taillight guards.
Jeep also upgraded the Wrangler's transfer case for low-speed rock crawling (hence the vehicle's name) and cold-air intake for extra measure.

Drive like a prince: Join us for a walk through Monaco's car collection

Fri, Dec 29 2023

Small, crowded, and a royal pain in the trunk lid to drive into during rush hour, Monaco sounds like an improbable location for a huge car museum. And yet, this tiny city-state has been closely linked to car culture for over a century. It hosts two major racing events every year, many of its residents would qualify for a frequent shopper card if Rolls-Royce issued one, and Prince Rainier III began assembling a collection of cars in the late 1950s. He opened his collection to the public in 1993 and the museum quickly turned into a popular tourist attraction. The collection continued to grow after his death in April 2005; it moved to a new facility located right on Hercules Port in July 2022. Monaco being Monaco, you'd expect to walk into a room full of the latest, shiniest, and most powerful supercars ever to shred a tire. That's not the case: while there is no shortage of high-horsepower machines, the first cars you see after paying ˆ10 (approximately $11) to get in are pre-war models. In that era, the template for the car as we know it in 2023 hadn't been created, so an eclectic assortment of expensive and dauntingly experimental machines roamed whatever roads were available to them. One is the Leyat Helica, which was built in France in 1921 with a 1.2-liter air-cooled flat-twin sourced from the world of aviation. Fittingly, the two-cylinder spun a massive, plane-like propeller. Government vehicles get a special spot in the museum. They range from a Cadillac Series 6700 with an amusing blend of period-correct French-market yellow headlights and massive fins to a 2011 Lexus LS 600h with a custom-made transparent roof panel that was built by Belgian coachbuilder Carat Duchatelet for Prince Albert II's wedding. Here's where it all gets a little weird: you've got a 1952 Austin FX3, a Ghia-bodied 1959 Fiat 500 Jolly, a 1960 BMW Isetta, and a 1971 Lotus Seven. That has to be someone's idea of a perfect four-car garage.  One of the most significant cars in the collection lurks in the far corner of the main hall, which is located a level below the entrance. At first glance, it's a kitted-out Renault 4CV with auxiliary lights, a racing number on the front end, and a period-correct registration number issued in the Bouches-du-Rhone department of France. It doesn't look all that different than the later, unmodified 4CV parked right next to it. Here's what's special about it: this is one of the small handful of Type 1063 models built by Renault for competition.
