1978 Jeep Bummer 4x4 on 2040-cars

Year:1978 Mileage:4608
Location:

Idaho Falls, Idaho, United States

This very unique vehicle was won by myself at a 25th anniversary sale at a manheimmanhiemmanheimmanhiemmanheim auto auction. It was purchased by the sale from a company based in Utah at the time. This is the only won like it in the world, there was roughly 47 built between 1997 and 2000. this rolled out in the year 2000 and I am the only owner. Manhiem paid 25,000.00 thousand back in the year 2000. Since there was very few made they will do nothing but continue to go up in value. Manhiem purchased this on a wholesale bassces at the time. There is so much to talk about this bummer I would never have time to mention all that could be said. Hopefully you can call or E-mail me. It has a 350 fuel injection with a 350 turbo transmission. Everything on this is custom built. Most of the body is fiberglass with the doors and tailgate metal. This is the only one that was built this way!! custom leather interior, seats four adualts up in the front seat. Seats three in the back seat. (about the company that built these) My understanding is GM fileld several law suites against this company. The bummer won every law suite although it continued to get very exspensive to have GM sue them time and time again. This is why they evenutally had to close there doors. These are very rare and very very neat!!! It has been driven very little with only four thousand miles on it in the last fourteen years. If you think a Jeep is neat you haven't seen anything yet. This is three times what a jeep is. There is a few of these scratered out through the united states and some over sea's. It will just be something you'll have to E-mail or call me to get more information. I can be E-mailed at lewisehardt@gmail.com or my phone number is (208) 528-6015 its in Idaho Falls Id and parked in my heated shop. Here's the reality for me . Iv'e gone through a divorce and have no other choice but to sell! I would never have even considered selling this if it wern't for my personal situation! As a resalt I must sell or possible trade for another vehicle? I love this Bummer and you would too. This is an auction and the reserve price will not be giving out. (please do not ask Thank you) Prefred method of payment would be bank wire or possibly a cashier check. Please come over in person so you can see for yourself!! I would require full payment within 48 hours. This vehicle is being offered with no warranty what so ever. (AS IS) I believe no one could be disapointed with this bummer!! Please call!! Thanks for looking!!

Marchionne uses racial epithet to describe what must power future Alfa Romeo models

Wed, 16 Jan 2013

Sergio Marchionne and his Fiat empire have a lot riding on the US return of the Alfa Romeo brand. The endeavor has been in progress for what feels like a lifetime - certainly for as long as Fiat has had the Chrysler brand under its Italian wing.
It's not surprising that Fiat CEO Marchionne needs a perfect first Alfa to mark a return to America. And here's where things get dicey. Nobody would argue with Marchionne's insistence that Alfa Romeo's be powered by Italian engines - as Marchionne himself is quoted to have said at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show, "There are some things that are well done in Italy."
If not what he said, then, it's how he said it that has eyebrows raised. "I cannot come up with a schlock product, I just won't. I won't put an American engine into that car. With all due respect to my American friends, it needs to be a wop engine." Wait, what's that?

Watch this Jeep Willys return to its birthplace after 70 years

Sun, 23 Jun 2013

Earlier this month, a very significant Jeep was celebrated at the Toledo North Assembly plant. No, it wasn't the upcoming reincarnation of the Jeep Cherokee, but instead it was a 1943 Willys MB that visited the Toledo grounds where it had been built exactly 70 years ago to the day.
Of course, the actual building where the MBs rolled off the assembly line before heading to Europe for World War II no longer exists, but that didn't stop Italian owner Vittorio Argento from having the vehicle shipped to the US to make its trek back to its birth place. According to Chrysler, Argento's MB is still 95-percent original and it drove 1,000 miles from New Jersey to Toledo.
The whole adventure was chronicled on a blog aptly named A Jeep Comes Home. Scroll down for a brief video from Chrysler and for some photos of the Toledo visit and be sure to read more at Argento's blog.

Work at a Chrysler dealership, get free college education

Mon, May 4 2015

The cost of a college education in the US can put a student tens (hundreds, in some cases) of thousands of dollars into debt. FCA US wants to give its dealership employees a leg up, though, and the automaker is now offering a completely free education to them through a partnership with Strayer University. The workers can take any of the college's classes online or on campus through program called Degrees@Work. Currently, the offer is only available to employees Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge, Ram and Fiat dealers in the automaker's Southeast region, which includes Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee. However, a national expansion will happen before the end of the year, Strayer spokesperson Cristina Henley tells Autoblog. The program will cover all of the students' expenses, including their books, according to Henley. FCA US sees this partnership as a way to improve the talent of its workforce, retain employees longer and possibly attract people wanting to take advantage of this free education. "Many of our dealers have expressed concern over the availability of talent to fill open positions due to business growth and turnover in their stores, especially in metro markets," Al Gardner, the company's Head of Dealer Network Development, said in the Degrees@Work announcement. Strayer has about 40 programs available, including in business administration, accounting, marketing, and more, and the university offers associate's, bachelor's, and master's degrees. It will also give FCA US employees credit for their work experience to get them a diploma even more quickly.
