This Jeep was built right! It has a full family style roll cage, professionally welded to the frame as well as a swing away tire carrier with a spot for a Jerry can. Both front and back bumpers have receivers for a 2" Hitch.

The Jeep has a very powerful 5.3L Vortec engine mated to a bulletproof MUNCIE SM465 with a complete rebuild. This is the transmission with the granny low gear perfect for crawling and its Chevy's heavy duty transmission which can take the power of the 5.3. On the back side of that is the DANA 300 connected into the stock axles the AMC20 and Dana 30. Anybody in four-wheeling knows that the DANA 300 is still the premier transfer case for 4x4 applications. This one has been twin sticked so you now have complete control over both axles Hi/Lo/N giving you more capability in the trails. With Warn hubs on the front this Jeep is ready to go. The 4x4 works great and the brakes have just been checked and rebuilt with a replacement of a rear wheel cylinder and seals. They are power brakes with discs up front and drums in the back.

The Jeep looks like it is on about a 4" lift and the shocks are Rancho shocks. I just put a brand new steering stabilizer on it and it is driving straight and sitting on 33" Procomp Xterrains in decent shape.

Inside the jeep you have a full complement of Autometer gauges in a custom dash as well as a CB radio and a nice Kenwood stereo that plays MP3 discs and also has an AUX input. The Jeep only has half doors and a sunrider top that covers the entire cab. There is no hardtop for this jeep! But the entire inside has been herculined to protect it and provide traction if it gets wet. The seats up front are black off road Suspension seats with four point racing harnesses connected into the roll cage. The back seat only has lap belts and is not shown in the pictures. The jeep has had all of the air handling equipment from the interior removed and does not currently have a wiper motor. But all the other electronics including your headlights, radiator fan, cb, stereo, etc are all wired through a painless wiring system.

The body of the jeep does have some imperfections, however, it also has newer paint. It is Royal Blue. The fender flares are custom with plenty of cut-away for the next stages of this build.

Chrysler recalling hundreds of thousands of Jeep Grand Cherokee and Commander SUVs

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

The public might associated ignition switch recalls with General Motors - and with good cause - but that's not the only automaker calling its vehicles back in to fix that sort of issue.
Last month we reported that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration was investigating an array of Chrysler Group vehicles for electrical-related safety issues. The administration and Chrysler subsequently issued a recall for 700,000 Dodge Journey crossovers, Dodge Grand Caravan minivans and Chrysler Town & Country minivans. But while the Jeeps that were also under investigation were not covered in that recall, they are being addressed in a separate one now.
Although Chrysler reports that it is only aware of a single accident stemming from this issue, it is "committing now to conduct a recall out of an abundance of caution." The recall affects the 2006-2007 Jeep Commander and 2005-2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee, of which it reports there are 792,300 on the road: 649,900 in the United States, 28,800 in Canada, 12,800 in Mexico and a further 100,800 outside of North America.

Jeep Renegade pricing to start at $18,595?

Fri, 14 Mar 2014

While there's no shortage of excitement surrounding the new Jeep Renegade, one of the limiting factors to the little trucklet will be its price. With the Kia Soul starting at $14,900 and the Nissan Juke kicking off at $18,990, the Renegade can't afford to stray away from that price bracket.
And judging by some potentially leaked pricing info, it won't. A quick Google search of "Jeep Renegade Price" reveals (at least for now) that the Italian-built Jeep will start at $18,595. The "as shown" price of $25,895 seems to indicate the Trailhawk model shown on Jeep's consumer page.
If the $18,595 figure is correct, it's likely for the base, two-wheel-drive Sport model, with the Latitude and Limited trims falling somewhere between there and the $25,895 as-equipped price of the Trailhawk.
