This auction is for a one owner 1991 Jeep Cherokee Briarwood. This vehicle has virtually every option, including a dealer installed POWER sunroof/moonroof. It is a 50th Anniversary edition.

It has a leather interior, power drivers seat, power windows, door locks, etc.

This vehicle was purchased brand new from John Irish Jeep (now selling different cars) in San Rafael, California by my mom. I went with her to the dealership to pick up the car in 1991. She finally decided to buy a new car.

It is in excellent original condition. This vehicle has never been taken off road, it has never been abused. It has never been smoked in. I have the extensive service history since day 1 that will go to the new owner.

She drove it for the first 112,000 miles and I drove it for the last 1,000 miles, from California to Salt Lake City. The mileage is just under 114K.

**Please note that the pictures were taken outside and that the fluid stains seen on the ground are not from the Jeep.

It is the factory green with a tan interior. The car has always been garaged and she has never had any accidents or incidents. Approximately 5 years ago she had the car repainted as the clearcoat had failed (an unfortunate common problem with Jeeps of this vintage). Approximately 1 year ago she had the headliner replaced by a well-respected upholstery shop in Santa Rosa, Ca.

This car has spent it's entire life in Sonoma County, CA until two months ago when I brought it to Salt Lake City, Utah. It is currently parked in my garage in Salt Lake City. It still has the California plates on it. It should be noted that this car has never been driven in snow or seen any road salts or other de-icing materials.

I have decided that this car is not practical for me to keep, so I am now selling it.

Payment for the vehicle will be as follows: $500 via PayPal at the close of the auction, and the balance in the form of a recognized bank (ie Chase, B of A, Citibank, Wells Fargo, etc).

Serious buyers are encouraged to send me a private message and we can discuss any particulars over the phone and/or meet in person.

Thanks!!

Woman and child die after Jeep gets stuck in mud

Tue, Mar 10 2015

A Florida woman and her baby died over the weekend when their Jeep sank into deep mud during an off-roading trip. Taylor Brown took his girlfriend Hallie Lewis and their infant son Bryson off-roading in his Jeep Cherokee on Saturday night. The Jeep became stuck in thick mud, according to WESH. Brown got out of the vehicle while Lewis and Bryson remained inside. Using a winch, Brown tried – unsuccessfully – to free the Jeep. The Cherokee was left running as he struggled to pull it out of the mud. When he returned to the Jeep to check on his son and girlfriend, he found them unresponsive. Taylor pulled the two out of the back window, but it was too late. Lewis was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. The baby died shortly thereafter. Police are still investigating, but their deaths appear to be a tragic accident due to carbon monoxide poisoning. The tailpipe of the Jeep was either submerged or caked with mud, allowing the deadly gas to build up inside the vehicle. News Source: WESH Weird Car News Jeep tailpipe carbon monoxide

Consumer Reports says these are the worst new cars of 2014

Thu, 27 Feb 2014

Consumer Reports has announced its annual list of worst vehicles, a cringe-inducing contrast to its list of top vehicles. Ignominiously leading the way in 2014 is Chrysler, which has a staggering seven models listed.
Jeep nearly sweeps the small SUV segment by itself, with its Compass, Patriot and 2.4-liter version of the new Cherokee, while the only midsize sedans listed by CR were the Chrysler 200 and Dodge Avenger. The new Dodge Dart and the Dodge Journey round out CR's condemnation of Chrysler.
Ford is taking heat as well, with the Taurus, Edge and their counterparts from Lincoln all listed as the worst vehicles in their respective segments. Toyota doesn't fare much better, with its Lexus IS, Scion iQ and tC also making the list.

2014 Jeep Cherokee uncovered with bold new look

Fri, 22 Feb 2013

Jeep has been shuttling around Alfa Romeo-based test mules and camouflaged prototypes of its replacement for the current Liberty for some time now. Those heavily disguised vehicles may have offered a glimpse of the new Jeep, but a new set of production-line images from Jalopnik tell a much more complete story.
Jalopnik report indicates unequivocally that the Cherokee name will be re-upped in place of Liberty, though it doesn't spell out exactly where that thinking comes from, though a name change has been rumored for some time. Chances are good that the same source that delivered these factory images delivered the name, as well.
The Cherokee absolutely has some Alfa Romeo DNA in its makeup, the final product is far from looking like its Guilietta ancestor. The athletic, high-waisted design is relatively attractive from what we can see here, though the grille and headlight treatment are sure to cause a lot of ruckus when the Cherokee makes its official debut at the New York Auto Show in April. The very narrow, pointed headlamps are pinched in a not particularly Jeep-ish fashion, and the curved, short version of the seven-slot grille is far more rakish than anything that Jeep has produced to date.
