2001 Jeep Cherokee Factory RHD, 4x4 Four Door. Power Window, Power Locks. 189,700 miles. Re-built transmission at 177,650 miles. I have owned this Jeep since approx. 135k miles. I am the second owner. Well maintained since I have owned it and many new parts put in. When first purchased in March of 2011- Tie rods, track bar, upper and lower ball joints, right window regulator, turn signal flasher, front axle u-joints, transmission mount, rear hatch latch. 2012- Valve cover set, oil seal, shocks, e-brake cables, harmonic balancer.
2013- Transmission rebuilt at 177,650. Idler pulley. 2014- Alternator, repaired wiring in right front door that controlled all of the power windows. Front Right axle u-joint, Right and Left front wheel bearings, new drilled and slotted rotors, new calipers, and new pads. The tires have good tread of them. I also have a second set of rims. I had summer and winter tires the extra rims made it easy to switch out. There is some rust on the bottom of the doors and rocker panels but no rust through that I can see. I took it to a guy and had them sand it and put rhino liner on those parts to try to slow down the rust but that is coming off so it needs to be done again. There is some rust through on the left rear wheel well. The rest of the wheel wells are just some rust but no rust through that I can see. The passenger side door (left) armrest that goes up around the window controls is cracked. The bezel that goes around the shifter is broken. It was that way when I bought it and I have taken it apart a couple of times and re-glued it. The light works and you can see what gear your in, it just sits a little crocked. You might be able to order a new one through Jeep. To my knowledge everything else works. I always replaced things as they were needed so it should be good to go. It has an after market radio so you have a CD player. I also have a set of boards that if you take all of the passenger seats out completely, the boards go in to make the entire inside a flat surface for delivering mail. Jeep leads list of 25 most patriotic brands
Thu, 04 Jul 2013It's not unusual to feel extra patriotic this time of year, what with the Fourth of July being today and all. As if to celebrate, New York-based research firm Brand Keys conducted a study among 4,500 consumers about what brands they find to be the most patriotic. According to the Detroit Free Press, Jeep took top honors in this study, besting other American stalwart brands including Coca-Cola, Levi's and Hershey's.
Interestingly, the only other automotive brand to make the list was Ford, in the 16th spot (motorcycle fans take note - Harley-Davidson claimed the No. 13 slot). This means consumers found Jeep to be more patriotic than any of the brands in the General Motors portfolio, including Chevrolet, which has long used American themes in its advertising over the decades.
According to Brand Keys, Jeep came in "with a score of 98 out of 100 on a scale representing consumers' emotional engagement expectations," the Detroit Free Press reports. Be sure to read the report to scan the entire Top 25 list for yourself.
Chrysler set to make $266M-investment into 8-speed transmission production
Wed, Dec 10 2014Chrysler will shortly make a significant $266-million investment into its Kokomo, IN transmission factory in a bid to expand production of its eight-speed automatic transmissions. The gearboxes, which are built under license from Germany's ZF Friedrichshafen, have been well received by customers and critics, and according to an SEC filing obtained by Automotive News, the transmissions will eventually find their way to all of Chrysler's rear-drive offerings (Viper and heavy-duty Ram models, aside). According to AN, a Chrysler spokesman says the investment has not been confirmed, but once it is, it'll mark the company's latest in a growing line of investments at the facility. Chrysler has poured $1.5 billion into Kokomo since 2009.
Stellantis and LG launch joint venture for North American battery plant
Mon, Oct 18 2021Stellantis has struck a preliminary deal with battery maker LG Energy Solution (LGES) to produce battery cells and modules for North America, as the world's No. 4 automaker rolls out its 30 billion euro ($35 billion) electrification plan. Global automakers are investing billions of euros to accelerate a transition to low-emission mobility and prepare for a progressive phase-out of internal combustion engines. Stellantis and LGES's joint venture will produce battery cells and modules at a new facility with an annual capacity of 40 gigawatt hours (GWh), the two firms said on Monday. No financial details of the deal were provided. The plant is scheduled to start production by the first quarter of 2024, with groundbreaking expected in the second quarter of 2022, the companies said in their statement. Its location is under review and will be announced later. Stellantis, formed in January from the merger of Italian-American automaker Fiat Chrysler and France's PSA, has said it wants to secure more than 130 GWh of global battery capacity by 2025 and more than 260 GWh by 2030. The batteries produced under the deal will supply Stellantis' U.S., Canadian and Mexican assembly plants for installation in hybrid and fully electric vehicles, supporting its goal of e-vehicles making up more than 40% of its U.S. sales by 2030. The company, whose brands include Peugeot, Fiat, Opel and U.S. best-sellers Jeep and Ram, earlier this year announced it would invest more than 30 billion euros through 2025 on electrifying its vehicle lineup. Stellantis has said it would build three battery plants in Europe and two in North America, including at least one in the United States. Intesa Sanpaolo analyst Monica Bosio said the deal was positive, and a further step ahead in Stellantis' electrification process. It comes weeks after Stellantis and its partner TotalEnergies agreed to open up their battery cell joint venture ACC to Daimler, to expand their European sourcing of battery cells. Stellantis is also targeting more than 70% of sales in Europe to be of low-emission vehicles by 2030, and aims to make the total cost of owning an EV equal to that of a gasoline-powered model by 2026.
