1999 Jeep Cherokee Two Door, Rare Color And With Select Trac 4x4 on 2040-cars
Torrington, Connecticut, United States
1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport 2 Door 218,640 Miles This is a no reserve auction. The highest bidder drives her away. For your consideration I present this loaded Jeep Cherokee in a very rare color with the one year only and one color only matching wheels (Only offered this way for 1999). The two-door is very seldom seen. And this Jeep Cherokee is equipped with the optional Select-Trac 4 wheel drive system, a full-time system that allows you to stay in four wheel on the open highway as well as to select part-time four wheel in both high and low range for full capability. Don’t let the mileage fool you this Jeep has had every system sorted. She is ready to roll and can be driven anywhere. I only offer cars on Ebay that I have owned and driven myself and I have a 100% positive feedback record. The Jeep has just about every option you could order on a two door Cherokee Sport back in 1999. Power windows and locks, cruise control, lighted vanity mirrors, even a full size spare tire is included. All the systems and electrical are working as they should. I have added a modern disc radio with blue-tooth and hands free phone capability for better entertainment and the original cassette radio is also included. I also put in a trail type seat that I hoped would be more comfortable than the original. It isn’t, and the original seat will come with the vehicle if you wish to switch it back. The car has never been off road during my ownership. I added a top quality tow bar receptacle to carry a bike rack in. The Jeep has never been used for towing. I purchased this vehicle 4 1/2 years ago for use by my daughter while attending college in Northern Maine. Much of the mileage was accumulated taking the long trip back and forth to there from western Connecticut. I kept all systems maintained meticulously so that Madge (my daughter named her) would be a safe and reliable ride throughout the Jeep’s life with us. The engine runs smooth and delivers all the power a 4 liter Jeep six should. The transmission shifts through all gears as it should and the 4 wheel drive engages smoothly and operates well in all its modes. There are no leaks or seepage from any of the seals and gaskets and the Jeep uses no oil between oil changes (done every 3,000 miles). The air conditioning blows ice cold and was recently serviced. A list of maintenance done is presented below. 4 new tires were put on at 215,217 miles. Things needing attention: Madge has lived a colorful life in New England and some of it shows. The underside of the vehicle has rust through in the passenger side floor and rust in the driver side floor as pictured. The sub-frame is not rusted and is in good condition and the underbody is otherwise sound. The floors will need to be fixed at some point but because the sub-frame goes right under them there is no danger of putting your feet through. The Jeep is solid and drive-able as is. The body is in good condition as pictured but this is a 15 year old used Jeep so there are nicks and scratches here and there. The passenger side drip rail molding was lost and replaced with an aftermarket type. It is not original and not the right color but it is presentable. I have not been able to find the original part but it is out there somewhere. The Jeep encountered a bear several years ago and the front grill, bumper and moldings had to be replaced. No structure damage occurred however. Maintenance List: New hatch struts and latch mechanism New Alternator New Distributer Cap, Plug Wires, Rotor, Spark Plugs New Rear Leaf Springs, Spring Shackles and Shock absorbers New Power Steering Pump and New Belts New Exhaust Manifold, New Exhaust Gasket and Connector Pipes New Harmonic Balancer New Sway Bar Bushings and Sway Bar Link Kit New Air Conditioning Compressor, New Air Conditioning Dryer New Brakes and All New Brake Lines New U Joints New Radiator and All Hoses New Transmission Cooler Lines New Left Front Hub and Bearing Assembly New Complete Exhaust System Four New Tires (Less than 5,000 miles on the tires) New Professionally Installed Windshield This is only a partial list of maintenance items done. The Jeep comes with a complete set of receipts for parts and labor done during the 4 1/2 years of my ownership. As stated all systems are functioning and Madge is ready to drive. This Jeep is located in Torrington, Connecticut and is to be picked up there. The buyer must make all arrangements for shipping if the car is to be shipped. If the winner wishes to fly in and drive the car home I can provide transportation from Bradley International Airport near Hartford, Connecticut or from other nearby airports upon request. As mentioned the car is ready to go and I would feel confident hopping in and driving to San Francisco tomorrow. Please feel free to ask any questions. Happy bidding.

Chrysler highlights Mopar lineup for SEMA
Wed, 30 Oct 2013SEMA is all about aftermarket parts, and in Auburn Hills that all comes down to one name: Mopar. After having previewed its lineup for this year's Vegas tuner expo earlier this month, Chrysler has now revealed what may not quite be its full dossier of modified show cars, but a good portion of them.
All told Mopar is preparing 20 vehicles for display at SEMA this year. Among them you'll find the Ram Sun Chaser, a 1500 Quad Cab show truck kitted out in two-tone orange and black paint, a roof rack for surfboards, onboard shower and convertible tailgate. The white Fiat 500L is called the Adventurer and is modified for a more rugged look that could hint at the upcoming crossover version. The Jeep Cherokee Trail Carver upgrades on the Trailhawk package with everything from roof basket to rock rails. To counterbalance the off-roaders, there's also a modified Chrysler 300S with a deep black paint job, special grille, Varvatos-edition wheels and more.
All four concepts details so far have Katzkin interiors as well, and there's also an unspecified Dodge Durango with a storm-trooper look in the gallery above. But for more details on what Mopar has installed on the Ram, 500L, Cherokee and 300, you'll want to delve into the press release below.
Millionth Jeep Wrangler JK to roll off line this morning
Fri, 17 May 2013According to a report on the Chrysler Communications Facebook page and one fairly grainy image of the production line, at around 11:00AM Eastern this morning, the one-millionth Jeep Wrangler JK will roll out of the company's Toledo assembly plant.
The third-generation or "JK" Jeep Wrangler has been around since the 2007 model year, and has obviously been more popular than ever. With a greater than ever number of trim levels, two-door and four-door Unlimited models and hardy off-roading Rubicon packages, the JK offers more to choose from than ever for those looking for something in a traditional Jeep. In fact, with the modern 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 powering it, the 2012 model year saw more than 140k Wrangers sold here in the US; the best-ever figure for the model.
With a model refresh due out for the Wrangler in 2015 (along with the likely addition of a diesel engine option), we expect that sales will continue to roll right along, too.
2015 Easter Jeep Safari Concepts First Drive
Wed, Apr 8 2015Imagine if once a year your grandmother made a chocolate cake. Not a chocolate cake, that chocolate cake. Blow-your-mind chocolate cake. But she won't ever let you have any – you can only have the spatula and whatever's left over in the mixing bowl. And you don't care. You look forward to that spatula and bowl every year because – "Gadzooks!" – that is some stupendous cake. For us, that cake is the Easter Jeep Safari. An annual pilgrimage to Moab, Utah for a taste of what Fiat-Chrysler's off-road brand has cooked up in its Design Dome. "No, you can't have any," the company tells us, "but you can taste it here, then dream about it until next Easter." In Detroit, Jeep gave us a close look at the seven concepts it built for this year's 49th annual event. Then it went a step further and took those show cars to Mill Canyon, UT, to crawl the red rocks in Jeep's natural habitat. After all, the company calls Moab, "Our home away from home." And it's not true that we never get more than a taste of Jeep's conceptual goodness – 2011's JK8 pickup conversion kit is a slice of Safari creation we can now take home, for instance, as are the hood decals that adorned two of the concepts we drove this year. Pietro Gorlier, President and CEO of Mopar, told us that the evolution of Jeep Performance Parts came from listening to journalists and customers in his first year on the job in 2010. So there's that. But still, we want more cake. Like a full-on production Wrangler Africa. These being one-of-a-kind prototypes traipsing through a canyon of nearly immovable objects, we didn't go fast, we didn't go far, we didn't push hard. But we did drive all the Easter Jeeps, and even just this small taste was outstanding. View 30 Photos Jeep Chief While we listened attentively to the detailed spiels on all this conceptual candy, one question ran through our minds: "How am I going to get in the Chief before everyone else?" And we could see the same thought every colleague's face, those scheming bastards. And why not? The Ocean Blue tribute to the venerable Cherokee of old grabbed everyone's attention since the first teaser images weeks before the event, in part because the vintage truck is up there with mermaids for rarity and lustworthiness. Anything that goes this far in obeisance to that classic Jeep is always going to score huge marks. The Chief is a four-door Wrangler underneath, but in many ways it feels nothing like a Wrangler.
