This is a 1993 Jeep Cherokee that is in great mechanical condition. The motor was replaced with a remanufactured Gopher engine at 123,000 miles. The transmission was rebuilt at 145,000 miles. Everything works including the air conditioning. Everything has been regularly maintained. It has a class III trailer hitch and 7' Meyers snowplow. Air bag helpers were installed in the front coil springs and are aired by a schrader valve located by the air cleaner. With the plow on put 60 psi. in and it holds the plow nicely. During the summer run about 30 psi and you get a nice smooth ride. The frame is solid. This was in a wreck several years ago so the color of the left front fender is more brilliant than the rest. There has been a few spots on the body and the roof that have been patched and painted. There are no water leaks. The floor is rusting out but could be patched. The drivers floor has been patched. There is a remote starter that works. Battery is new. Oil was just changed. Tires only have 10,000 miles on them. Brakes are in good shape. The speakers in the front doors are half the size that they are suppose to be. Should be 6x9 ovals. This is ready to go. Road worthy to where ever you want to go!

Marchionne wants to nearly double Jeep sales by 2018
Thu, Jan 15 2015Jeep just keeps breaking its own sales records. A couple of weeks ago, the off-road brand announced its worldwide sales exceeded one million units for the first time, marking its third consecutive global record and the fifth straight year of sales increases here in the US. But FCA isn't about to stop there. TheDetroitBureau.com reports that chief executive Sergio Marchionne, speaking to the media at the Detroit Auto Show, has announced a new sales target for the Jeep division: By 2018, he wants to see Jeep sell 1.9 million units in a single year, nearly doubling its all-time record. The expansion will surely encompass new products, with the all-new Renegade just warming up, a next-generation Wrangler on the way and a reborn Grand Wagoneer in the pipeline, as well. But the focus of FCA's preparations to reach the new target is on production capacity. While it's not clear whether the Toledo, OH plant where half of all the Jeeps sold around the world are currently built will continue to host the next Wrangler, FCA is expanding production overseas. The Renegade is already being built alongside the Fiat 500X in Italy, where another 1,000 workers are being re-hired and where another factory is set to start producing Jeeps, as well. A Renegade-based variant for the South American market will soon be built in Brazil, and by the end of this year, Jeep aims to start local production in China.

NHTSA closes book on Jeep 'trailer hitch' recall after all
Mon, 20 Jan 2014After much debating and hand-wringing, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration now says it has "no reservations" with Chrysler's plan to recall certain Jeep Liberty and Grand Cherokee models over concerns that their fuel tanks, which are located behind the rear axle, could rupture or leak in the event of a rear impact. The longstanding argument between the two entities saw Chrysler openly defy the Feds after a request to recall 2.7 million units back in June.
Chrysler's "voluntary campaign" will instead see it recall 1.56-million 1993-2004 model year Grand Cherokee SUVs, along with 2002-2007 Liberty models. Affected vehicles will get a trailer hitch installed free of charge, which Chrysler says will provide an additional degree of protection for the fuel tanks in the event of a crash. Jeeps with Mopar-branded hitches or hitches that were installed at the factory aren't affected by this recall.
Chrysler's argument throughout this battle has been that the Jeeps in question are no more susceptible to fires than comparable vehicles from the same time period, a position that NHTSA has seemingly arrived at as well. "Those vehicles performed at a rate similar to their peers. That is the keystone analysis as to whether something poses an unreasonable risk to safety," said outgoing NHTSA boss David Strickland during an interview with the The Associated Press.
