1974 Cherokee Chief, Sbc V8, Turbo 400 Np205 Dana 44, Corporate 14 Bolt, 37" M/t on 2040-cars
Londonderry, New Hampshire, United States
Great looking, sounding, running and driving, rare Jeep Cherokee Chief. Totally custom built, solid no rot or rust anywhere. Fully boxed frame, custom front shock hoops with dual Bilstien shocks up front, 8 lug dana 44 with steering stabilizer. Corporate 14 bolt out back. Great running small block Chevy 305 with mild cam, edelbrock intake an 600 carb, new hei distributor, and flowmaster exhaust. A perfect shifting Turbo 400 and 4 wheel NP205 transfer case which also shifts perfect. Really nice Goodyear M/T Radial 37x12.50x16.5 military tires with great tread, on new 16.5x10 Aluminum rims. All exterior lights work, interior gauge lights do not. The interior floors have been rubberized undercoated, the exterior just received a quick sand and paint in the original Jet Set Blue (comes with a quart ready to spray if needed), looks awesome, but not a ten footer. The vehicle is 95% finished, to be absolutely perfect it will need; to have door locks installed (have them), also have custom door panels that need to be installed, needs the back window regulator, glass is a little tricky to go up and down but it does work, the power seats in the vehicle work, but are not wired in. It needs a front drivers wheel bearing, transmission pan gasket also leaks slightly, other than that it starts, runs and drives great. It will need to have the front bumper mounted, but does come with two to choose from. Also have to good condition doors with glass and hardware with no rust (the ones that are on it are great shape too) This is a solid, rare, great condition Jeep to play with or drive anywhere.

These are the cars with the best and worst depreciation after 5 years
Thu, Nov 19 2020The average new vehicle sold in America loses nearly half of its initial value after five years of ownership. No surprise there; we all expect that shiny new car to start depreciating as soon as we drive it off the lot. But some vehicles lose value a lot faster than others. According to data provided by iSeeCars.com, trucks and truck-based sport utility vehicles generally hold their value better than other vehicle types, with the Jeep Wrangler — in both four-door Unlimited and standard two-door styles — and Toyota Tacoma sitting at the head of the pack. The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited's average five-year depreciation of 30.9% equals a loss in value of $12,168. That makes Jeep's four-door off-roader the best overall pick for buyers looking to minimize depreciation. The Toyota Tacoma's 32.4% loss in initial value means it loses just $10,496. The smaller dollar amount — the least amount of money lost after five years — indicates that Tacoma buyers pay less than Wrangler Unlimited buyers, on average, when they initially buy the vehicle. The standard two-door Jeep Wrangler is third on the list, depreciating 32.8% after five years and losing $10,824. Click here for a full list of the top 10 vehicles with the least depreciation over five years. On the other side of the depreciation coin, luxury sedans tend to plummet in value at a much faster rate than other vehicle types. The BMW 7 Series leads the losers with a 72.6% drop in value after five years, which equals an alarming $73,686. BMW's slightly smaller 5 Series is next, depreciating 70.1%, or $47,038, over the same period. Number three on the biggest losers list is the Nissan Leaf, the only electric vehicle to appear in the bottom 10. The electric hatchback matches the 5 Series with a 70.1% drop in value, but since it's a much cheaper vehicle, that percentage equals a much smaller $23,470 loss. Jeep leads list of 25 most patriotic brands
Thu, 04 Jul 2013It's not unusual to feel extra patriotic this time of year, what with the Fourth of July being today and all. As if to celebrate, New York-based research firm Brand Keys conducted a study among 4,500 consumers about what brands they find to be the most patriotic. According to the Detroit Free Press, Jeep took top honors in this study, besting other American stalwart brands including Coca-Cola, Levi's and Hershey's.
Interestingly, the only other automotive brand to make the list was Ford, in the 16th spot (motorcycle fans take note - Harley-Davidson claimed the No. 13 slot). This means consumers found Jeep to be more patriotic than any of the brands in the General Motors portfolio, including Chevrolet, which has long used American themes in its advertising over the decades.
According to Brand Keys, Jeep came in "with a score of 98 out of 100 on a scale representing consumers' emotional engagement expectations," the Detroit Free Press reports. Be sure to read the report to scan the entire Top 25 list for yourself.
AEV Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon
Fri, 28 Feb 2014
After their rented 2007 Hummer H3 failed them during the brutal Rallye Aicha des Gazelles in Morocco, Amy Lerner and her sister Tricia Reina were on a quest to find the most capable production off-roader for their next competition - they chose a 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. Their next mission was to find a company with the competence to configure it to win. After poring over Internet forums and perusing countless magazines for an outfitter who could meet their demanding requirements, they sent their bright orange JK ("Crush" is the official color) to American Expedition Vehicles (AEV) for some modifications.
The Michigan-based team at AEV kept the Jeep's 3.6-liter V6 and automatic transmission stock, but replaced the hood with a tall AEV Heat Reduction Hood and added an AEV Snorkel Kit for water crossings (it serves double-duty as its raised height helps to keep the air intake out of the kicked-up dust on the trail). Front and rear off-road bumpers were bolted in place, and AEV skid plates were added to provide additional undercarriage protection. A pair of IPF-900 off-road lights improve visibility, while a 10.2-gallon AEV Fuel Caddy (located behind the exterior spare) added some range. The suspension was upgraded with a 3.5-inch lift kit with Bilstein remote reservoir shocks, and 35-inch Falken Wildpeak A/T tires (LT285/70R17) were mounted at all four corners on AEV's beadlock wheels.
