2004 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon
Purchased new, then sold to us in 2005 with 5,300 miles on the clock. This Jeep was given a professionally installed lift, Body Armor front and rear bumpers, as well as solid steel Poison Spider custom fenders on all 4 corners. Full custom roll cage. Both the soft top with tinted windows, and the original hard top are included. K&N Intake helps it breathe well, but otherwise, the engine is completely stock. Terra-Flex releasable anti-sway bar kit, makes it possible to get crazy off road, while safe-on-road. Kenwood stereo with speakers in the roll bar give it excellent sound. The BF Goodrich All Terrain KO tires have under 1K miles. Here is the thing about the miles: This Rubicon has been towed behind a diesel pusher coach for the majority of the time. The true miles, as in 'with engine actually running,' are probably in the 8-9K range. This Jeep is fully setup to be towed, includes a tow bar, and the air-brake system is dialed in for your coach, with brake lights, etc. Have receipts for the work, and much was invested. Roughly $20,000 in extras and no shortcuts were taken. Please come see and drive this Jeep in San Clemente, CA: 92673. If you are serious about off-roading, like the idea of an automatic transmission, and hardly any miles on a Rubicon setup incredibly well, shoot us an offer. Problems: This Jeep has been off-roaded a handful of times. It's obvious, but not trashed. See photos for scuffs and scratches. The paint is not perfect, and has some minor chips and scratches. It shines like crazy however! I'd be happy to help ship this Jeep anywhere on earth. Once funds clear completely, that is. Please ask any questions, and I'll be sure to reply quickly. This Jeep belongs to my Step-Father, who married my fabulous Mother 20 years ago. I'm very aware of where this vehicle has been, and how well it's been cared for. Clear title in hand, and this Jeep was never wrecked. Thanks, and you would look great in this Jeep! -Adam |

Marchionne wants to nearly double Jeep sales by 2018
Thu, Jan 15 2015Jeep just keeps breaking its own sales records. A couple of weeks ago, the off-road brand announced its worldwide sales exceeded one million units for the first time, marking its third consecutive global record and the fifth straight year of sales increases here in the US. But FCA isn't about to stop there. TheDetroitBureau.com reports that chief executive Sergio Marchionne, speaking to the media at the Detroit Auto Show, has announced a new sales target for the Jeep division: By 2018, he wants to see Jeep sell 1.9 million units in a single year, nearly doubling its all-time record. The expansion will surely encompass new products, with the all-new Renegade just warming up, a next-generation Wrangler on the way and a reborn Grand Wagoneer in the pipeline, as well. But the focus of FCA's preparations to reach the new target is on production capacity. While it's not clear whether the Toledo, OH plant where half of all the Jeeps sold around the world are currently built will continue to host the next Wrangler, FCA is expanding production overseas. The Renegade is already being built alongside the Fiat 500X in Italy, where another 1,000 workers are being re-hired and where another factory is set to start producing Jeeps, as well. A Renegade-based variant for the South American market will soon be built in Brazil, and by the end of this year, Jeep aims to start local production in China.
Chrysler axes old V6s, goes all-Pentastar
Tue, 03 Sep 2013Old technology has a way of lingering on, particularly at Chrysler headquarters in Auburn Hills. So while the Pentastar V6 has replaced the older engine architecture in just about every application, it still soldiered on in some export markets. But the introduction of a new 3.0-liter Pentastar V6, produced in Michigan and meant only for the Chinese market, has put the final nail in the old engine's coffin.
Fitted into the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler just introduced to China at the Chengdu Motor Show, the downsized six uses the same architecture as the larger 3.6-liter Pentastar V6. But because of its 2,997cc capacity, it can be exported to China without the increased duty the 3.6-liter or even 3.2-liter Pentastar engines would incur. The 3.0-liter V6 develops 230 horsepower at 6,350 rpm and 210 pound-feet at 4,400 rpm.
Admittedly, it's unlikely, but even though the engine was said to be created solely to undercut tax thresholds in China and Europe, the 3.0-liter Pentastar has recently surfaced in rumors of an application here: as the boosted heart of a potential Cherokee SRT with anywhere from 375 to 410 hp.
YouTube tallies votes for this year's top five Super Bowl spots [w/video]
Tue, 19 Feb 2013When we asked you to tell us which of this year's 16 car-themed Super Bowl commercials you liked best, you chose the Farmer commercial from Chrysler Group, advertising the Ram trucks, over Audi's Prom commercial in second place. Turns out the voters in YouTube's Ad Blitz poll agreed, voting the same commercial to the number one spot from among the field commercials in every category.
From there, however, they went in a totally different direction. Budweiser's The Clydesdales spot came second, Samsung's The Next Big Thing took third. The Jeep Whole Again ad scored fourth in the YouTube poll, fifth in our poll of auto commercials, and the Hyundai Team spot got fifth from the YouTubers, but ninth in our poll.
The voting results don't match up with the viewing numbers, though - while Farmer has more than 13 million views, The Next Big Thing is well beyond 21 million. You can read the press release below and see all five spots, lined up for you, one more time.
