This is a unique, one-of-a-kind deal; don't miss it! I purchased this Jeep in February 2013 from a Denver area dealer. I was told that the person who traded it in, purchased a new Wrangler from them and that he was a repeat customer. The salesman knew the man and indicated that the Jeep had never been off road, and I have never taken it off road. Having said that, here are the unique details and upgrades:

OEM options included:

2008 Jeep Wrangler Sahara JK 60,851 "road miles", Clean CarFax, 3.8 V-6, PS, PB, A/C, PW, PL, Automatic 4-speed with O.D., Traction and Stability Control, ABS, Tilt Steering Wheel, Dual Airbags, Privacy Glass, Running Boards, Towing Package, New Spare Tire, Cruise Control, AM/FM/SAT, CD, Navigation System, Removable Hardtop and Remote Start

Now, here are the additional goodies since I have owned it:

2008 Jeep Wrangler Sahara “Extras”

1)    Custom driver’s sheepskin seat cover and seat belt “slide” ( $350 in Denver) - 2013

2)   Rancho 9000 shocks ($475.00 installed) – 2013

3)   FIVE additional 2008 OEM (used) wheels and tires; spare is brand new (Bridgestone AT Duelers 255/70/R18) – 2014

4)   Four additional used Bridgestone AT Duelers in a slightly different, but totally useable size and tread. NOTE: That’s a total of 10 OEM wheel and 14 Bridgestone AT Dueler tires, 2 of which have never been on the ground! These tires alone cost $202.00 each at COSTCO!

5)   2” trailer receiver, professionally installed ($295.00) includes hitch, 2” ball and wiring) - 2013

6)   Cast aluminum rear differential cover and Dana lifetime gasket ($185 parts + differentials’ oil changed) – 2014

7)   Extensive “under hood” billet aluminum – 2013

8)   Stainless steel hood latches ($130.00) – 2013

9)   Hydraulic hood lifts ($69.00) – 2013

10)  Installed Bosch platinum spark plugs, high performance wires and looms (approx. $175.00) – 2014

11)  Extensive cabin billet aluminum – 2013/2014

12)  Dashboard tray ($79.00) – 2013

13)  Quadratec entry hand holds ($24.00) - 2013

14)  Tailgate hydraulic assist kit ($69.00) (uninstalled)

15)  Front, rear and “trunk” Quadratec laser conforming floor mats ($200.00) – 2013

16)  Trunk Organizers ($94.00) – 2013

17)  All window tint ($190.00) – 2013

18)  K&N Cold Air Intake and filter ($290.00) - 2013

19)  Throttle body spacer ($109.00) - 2013

20)  Truck-Lite L.E.D. Headlights ($499.00) - 2013

21)  L.E.D. interior light ($14.00) - 2014

22)  Flowmaster exhaust (approx. $200.00) – 2014

23)  Haynes repair manual ($12.00) - 2013

24)  G-Force performance chip installed ($69.00) – 2014

25)  Billet passenger “grab handle” ($79.00) – 2014

26)  Seat belt extenders and clips ($45.00) – 2013

27)  Locking billet gas cap ($65.00) – 2014

28)  Custom “roll up” windshield sun shade ($39.00) – 2013

That’s $3,756.00 in improvements not counting extensive under hood and cabin billet, nor the five extra tires and wheels and four additional unmounted tires!! Note: When you wear out the current set of tires, put the other OEM set on and then swap out the worn tires for a set of winter (studded?) snow and ice tires. I would estimate the value of all the additional tires and wheels at least $950.00, and all the billet enhancements at $350.00. That makes my overall investment in after-market parts and installation services at $5,056.00!!

The Kelly Blue Book on this Jeep with its included OEM features is $22,094 in excellent condition. My added improvements and wheels/tires is conservatively valued at $5,056 for a combined value of $27,150. My Buy-It-Now price is only $23,999!!

WWII Jeep 'found in crate' set to cross Greenwich auction block

Thu, 30 May 2013

Fans of old military vehicles might want to pay extra close attention to the Greenwich Concours d'Elegance coming up this weekend. Crossing the Bonhams auction block on Sunday are a pair of seemingly flawless World War II Jeeps, which are both expected to fetch serious dollars.
Lot Number 305 at the auction is a 1945 Ford GPW Jeep that has been fully restored, which is expected to command between $35,000 and $45,000. Shortly after the Ford GPW, a potentially more interesting 1944 Willys MB (shown above) will be auctioned off, but Hemmings raises some red flags about this Jeep. First, it is claiming to have been "discovered in its original crate about 30 years ago," but there is no proof or documentation of any sort. Also, it is claiming to be all original, but it was given a paint job "shortly after it was discovered." Even with these questionable descriptions, this Willys could reach between $20,000 and $30,000. Head over to Bonhams' site and Hemmings for more information on both WW2-era Jeeps.

Jeep Cherokee won't get diesel until sales of oil-burning Grand Cherokee improve

Tue, 01 Jul 2014

Okay Jeep fans, you want more diesel options? Time to step up and prove it. The only way Jeep will offer a diesel powerplant in the Cherokee, according to brand head Mike Manley, is if sales of the Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel nearly double.
Currently, about eight percent of the Grand Cherokees sold feature the 3.0-liter, EcoDiesel V6. That's simply not enough to warrant the bringing an oil-burning Cherokee to the US market, despite the vehicle's presence in Europe, where it's sold with a 2.8-liter diesel V6.
"Cherokee is slightly different because of its weight and size. When I think about bringing Cherokee diesel here, I would like to see Grand Cherokee diesel get much higher than eight percent," Manley told Automotive News. "It would have to be in mid-double digits."

Auto Mergers and Acquisitions: Suicide or salvation?

Tue, Sep 8 2015

We love the Moses figure. A savior riding in from stage right with the ideas, the smarts, and the scrappiness to put things right. Alan Mullaly. Carroll Shelby. Lee Iacocca. Andrew Carnegie. Steve Jobs. Elon Musk. Bart Simpson. Sergio Marchionne does not likely view himself with Moses-like optics, but the CEO of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles recently gave a remarkable, perhaps prophetic interview with Automotive News about his interest and the inevitability of merging with a potential automotive partner like General Motors. Marchionne has been overtly public about his notion that GM must merge with FCA. For a bit of context, GM sold 9.9 million vehicles in 2014, posting $2.8 billion in net income, while FCA sold 4.75 million units and earned $2.4 billion in net income, painting a very rosy FCA earnings-to-sales picture. But that's not the entire picture. Most people in the auto industry still remember the trainwreck that was the DaimlerChrysler "merger" written in what turned out to be sand in 1998. It proved to be a master class in how not to fuse two companies, two cultures, two continents, and two management teams. Oh, it worked for the two individuals at both helms pre-merger. They got silly rich. And the industry itself was in a misty romance at the time with mergers and acquisitions. BMW bought Rolls-Royce. Volkswagen Group bought Bentley, Bugatti, and Lamborghini, putting all three brands into their rightful place in both products and positioning. No marriages there, so no false pretense. Finally, Nissan and Renault got married in 1999. A successful marriage requires several rare elements in this atmosphere of gas fumes and power lust. But a successful marriage requires several rare elements in this atmosphere of gas fumes and power lust, the principle part being honesty. Daimler and Chrysler lied to each other. The heads of each unit, the product planners, and finance all presented their then-current and long-range forecasts to each other with less-than-forthright accuracy. Daimler was the far greater equal and no one from the Chrysler side enjoyed that. The cultures were entirely different, too, and little was done to bridge that gap. Which brings me back to the present overtures by Marchionne to GM. "There are varying degrees of hugs," Marchionne stated in the Automotive News piece. "I can hug you nicely, I can hug you tightly, I can hug you like a bear, I can really hug you." Seriously?
