2005 TJ fully upgraded for off-roading, Only 33,300 miles (as of 8/2/2014), 6 speed manual, power steering and brakes, powerful air conditioner with hard (full) doors, two soft tops (one a bimini top), tinted glass, 4 liter 6 cylinder gas engine.

The Rubicon is Jeep's top-of-the-line back country machine, and I've made it a LOT better. I will follow with a list of upgrades and equipment, but the main points are: 5 1/2" Rubicon Express lift including shocks, mounts and springs, Long Arm control arms for massively improved suspension geometry when rock climbing, quick release stabilizer bar disconnects, Banks Power Monster Performance Exhaust, AirAid performance intake and throttle body spacer, Rough Country recovery bumpers front and rear with a Warn 8,000# winch on the front and heavy duty swing-out spare tire carrier on the back, 35" x 12.5" Kevlar belted Goodyear MT-Rs mounted on steel wheels (steel is stronger, less susceptible to damage and easier to repair in the field), and a full roll cage just in case. A Cobra CB and Lowrance GPS are both hard-wired into the car and a Hi-Lift jack is mounted to the front bumper.

The Rubicon model comes from the factory with heavy duty Dana 44 differentials front and rear and a 4:1 reduction in the 2 speed transfer case that will take the Jeep on practically a vertical climb without strain. It has standard lockers front and rear and a standard 4.11:1 axle gearing.

I am selling this car just as I off-roaded it -- fully equipped for the roughest trails and ready to be taken for a brutal ride. People who know this Jeep know just how capable it is.

It's a working Jeep and shows some evidence of its life. I polished out most of the pinstriping; There is still some visible on close inspection. I had significant cosmetic damage on the passenger side repaired and it looks beautiful now. There is a small but deep dent in the driver's door that I've covered with a refrigerator magnet about the size of a silver dollar (for those old enough to remember what that is). There are light scratches in the rear side plastic windows and a small patched tear in the top.  The identical replacement top with side windows is available from 4 Wheel Parts for $280. I removed the rear seat to make room for tools, stuff and my dog. A new seat can be had from 4 Wheel Parts for $180. I removed the standard sub-woofer from the console to get additional room. I will include that if you are into boomy stuff. It will plug back in.  I removed the OEM radio, which works fine, to put in an HD radio.  You can have the original radio as well.

History: I bought the car in 2009 with 15,000 miles on it. It had never been offroaded. I drove it for fun and a few back roads for a year before I did all the upgrades. The steering wheel and front seats have had covers on them since I bought the car, and look brand new. Since upgrading, I have pretty much only driven it off road. Because I don’t drive it much, I generally change the oil every 1,000 miles or so or at least twice a year. I lube the chassis every time I take it off road and I change the differential and transfer case oil once a year. Aside from a worn patch on the floor mat where my heel rests on the gas pedal, the interior shows no wear.  Everything works well and it looks great. People stop me in parking lots to compliment me on the Jeep. Remember -- 33,000 miles!

In addition to the upgrades listed above, the equipment list includes:

Here are all the vehicles sold by the 12 brands of the Fiat Chrysler PSA merger

Fri, Dec 20 2019

Sven Gustafson and Ronan Glon contributed to this report. Whether or not the formal merger between Italian-American automaker Fiat Chrysler and European conglomerate PSA Group means the return of Peugeot to the U.S., one thing’s for certain: The combined company will have a truckload of different brands. Sorting out what the deal means for all of them, including where they are sold and built, and whether and where there is product overlap, will be a key question for the two companies as they formalize the merger over the next 12 to 15 months. So far, both sides have steadfastly insisted that no job cuts or plant closures will result from the tie-up. WeÂ’ll see about that. In the meantime, weÂ’ve compiled an alphabetical list of all the vehicles currently sold in Europe and in North America by the various FCA and PSA brands, along with the years they debuted. We've gone into more detail about the European vehicles you might be less familiar with. The joint empire also has an antique store's worth of heritage-laced models and dormant brands, like Plymouth, Imperial, Simca, and Panhard, and it would have been even bigger had FCA not spun off Ferrari in early 2016. Alfa Romeo A legacy Italian sports car brand with roots in racing, Alfa Romeo has been struggling with declining U.S. sales. Giulia (2015): AlfaÂ’s rear-wheel drive sports sedan competes against German luxury sedans in North America and Europe. 4C (2013): The lightweight mid-engine rear-wheel-drive sports car is being phased out. Stelvio (2016): The Stelvio is a small luxury performance crossover that competes against the likes of the Porsche Macan and BMW X3 and is sold in both Europe and North America. Giulietta (2010): Sold in Europe, this compact hatchback is AlfaÂ’s entry-level model. After initially planning a rear-wheel drive 2020 update, the Giulietta is reportedly being nixed as part of FCAÂ’s latest product plans.   Chrysler Despite lending its name to its parent company, questions abound about the future of this legendary but faded brand, which is not offered in Europe. 300 (2011): Despite rumors of its pending demise, the four-door sedan lives on mostly unchanged for the 2020 model year, at least. Pacifica (2016): The successor to the Town & Country is ChryslerÂ’s bestselling model by a long shot and comes in gas-only and plug-in hybrid versions. Voyager (2019): ChryslerÂ’s newest minivan launches as its entry-level minivan for the 2020 model year.

Jeep spied testing new compact crossover

Tue, Nov 24 2015

Jeep is preparing a new crossover to slot in between the Renegade and Cherokee. Spied here for the first time, the new model is expected to arrive sometime around the middle of the new year. And with it, FCA's off-road brand will finally have a successor for the Compass and Patriot. From the little bit we can project at this early stage, the new C-segment Jeep is expected to ride on a modified version of the platform that underpins the Renegade and Fiat 500X. Motivation is tipped to come from the company's new 2.0-liter turbocharged Hurricane inline-four mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. We expect it to come in front and all-wheel-drive versions. The big question mark at this point is what the vehicle will be called. As the replacement for both the Compass and the Patriot, this model could adopt either nameplate – or it could wear a new one entirely. If the Renegade and 500X are anything to go by, the new Jeep could be offered as a Fiat as well, which could easily be dubbed the 500XL. We'll have to wait and see, but in the meantime you can check out the prototype – albeit in camouflaged form – in the image gallery above. Related Video:

Jeep will build old Wranglers next to new ones in Toledo

Mon, Mar 21 2016

Jeep made a lot of people happy when it confirmed that the next-generation Wrangler would continue to be built in Toledo, OH. Now, news is breaking about the lengths the automaker will go to in updating its northern Ohio factory. There's good news for Jeep dealers (more Wranglers to sell!), Jeep fans (more JKs to buy!), and Jeep itself (more money to be made!). According to a report from Automotive News, capacity at the factory will be increased to 350,000 units per year. That's around a 50 percent increase over what the Toledo complex can currently manage and is, according to Jeep boss Mike Manley, part of a move to keep production "at the right place" so "supply [stays] just behind demand." The other big news revealed by the AN report focuses on the future of the current Wrangler. Yes, the current JK has a future. It'll continue to be built at the Toledo factory up to six months after it successor arrives in showrooms, a move that's partially down to the way Jeep is shuffling production about. Toledo currently builds the Cherokee on a unibody production line – it'll continue to do so until March of 2017, when production will move to Belvidere, IL. The unibody line in Toledo will then be converted for body-on-frame production, which should take about six months. But during that time, the current JK (likely rebadged as a "Wrangler Classic") will continue to be built alongside another line of next-generation Wranglers, keeping dealers supplied with the today's Wrangler through March of 2018. The two Wranglers will overlap for about six months. This is all very good news if you've been waiting to pull the trigger on today's Wrangler. But move quickly – the clock is officially ticking.
