For sale is my 2008 Jeep Wrangler. I have many upgrades which have been well thought out before they were
installed. Yes my jeep has 37 inch tires, but it feels like the stock ride due to the higher end suspension. The
wheels DO NOT stick out past the fender flares and will pass the "quarter test" for anyone concerned about that.
There are just under 86,000 miles which is relatively low for a 2008. The 4:56 gears make for a nice highway
cruising speed... The following is what i have into,

5 BF Goodrich Mud terrain tires, Km2 650.00 x 5 = 3,250
5 Rock Star 20"x 8.5 wheels 269.95 x 5 = 1,350
Front and Rear "Re-Gearing" to 4:56 1,800
Warn 12,000lb "Power Plant" Winch/air compressor 1,800
4.5" Nth Degree suspension kit 1,675
Front/Rear soft doors and windows x 4 1,100
JK NX slant back soft top 800
Tuffy Rear Security Deck/ removable 500
Pioneer AVH-X8500BHS DVD Player/Removable face 500

Total parts without labor $21,245

Plus some of the labor $1,800
(this is just what i have receipts for)

Total $23,045

I've added a picture of a similar jeep that sold recently in New Jersey with about $6,000 less in extra parts for
comparison.

This vehicle has only been driven through a field once! And I spent the next 4 hours cleaning the under carriage.
Other than that it has not been off roaded and never used for rock crawling The winch has been used once to pull
out my neighbor who found himself stuck in some snow. It's been used as a weekend warrior/beach vehicle (Haven't
driven it on the beach either, tho I did plan on it). I'm sure i have some other odds and ends to include on the
sad day i see this thing go. I have to see what else i have laying around. Feel free to ask any questions you
would like. This is an amazing vehicle and everything has been very well taken care of,

Jeep's Wrangler Hellcat and six other sweet concepts for Moab

Thu, Mar 10 2016

Jeep. Wrangler. Hellcat. You read that correctly. And while it's just a concept for this year's Moab Easter Jeep Safari, it has us dreaming about blasting through the desert at 200 miles per hour. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles released a whole slew of Easter Jeep concepts at an event at the company's Auburn Hills, MI, headquarters today. The 50th annual Moab Safari will take place in just a couple of weeks – it's a sort of mecca for Jeep owners, and for the past few years, FCA brings its concepts out to the rocks and trails of Moab to prove that these are more than mere one-off, delicate showcars. Our own Brandon Turkus was live at FCA's reveal event, and he passed along a bunch of notes, in addition to the official stuff from Jeep. Here are some details about each concept, with full photo galleries and videos of each Jeep creation.

Chrysler Recalls Jeep SUVs For Ignition Switches

Wed, Jul 23 2014

The ignition switch defects that engulfed General Motors are now a rapidly growing problem at Chrysler. Chrysler said Tuesday it is recalling up to 792,300 older Jeep SUVs worldwide because the ignition switches could fall out of the "run" position, shutting off the engine and disabling air bags as well as power-assisted steering and braking. That's the same problem that has forced GM to recall more than 15 million cars over the last six months. Chrysler's recall covers 2005-2007 Grand Cherokees and 2006-2007 Commanders. The company said it is not sure exactly how many will be recalled, but said it will notify customers by mid-September. Chrysler said an outside force such as a driver's knee can knock switches out of the "run" position. Engineers are working on a fix. The Auburn Hills, Michigan-based automaker, now part of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV, said it knows of no related injuries and only one accident. But it said owners should keep clearance between their knees and keys until repairs are made. Chrysler has now recalled more than 1.7 million vehicles for ignition-switch problems. In June, the company added 696,000 minivans and SUVs to a 2011 recall to fix faulty ignition switches. Those recalls covered Dodge Journey SUVs and Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Caravan and Volkswagen Routan minivans - which Chrysler made for the German automaker - from the 2007 to 2010 model years. Tuesday's recall is the outgrowth of two investigations opened by U.S. safety regulators last month as part of a broader probe into ignition-switch and air-bag problems across the auto industry. The agency wouldn't say Tuesday whether its investigation could lead to recalls at other automakers. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said in June that it was investigating Jeep Commanders and Grand Cherokees after getting 32 complaints that a driver's knee can hit the key fob or key chain, causing the ignition switch to move out of position. The federal investigation is still open. The agency said Tuesday that it is requesting additional information from Chrysler to ensure that its repairs will be effective. The investigations and recalls come after GM bungled an ignition-switch recall of older small cars. GM acknowledged that it knew of the ignition problem for more than a decade but failed to recall the cars until earlier this year, when it recalled 2.6 million small cars such as the Chevrolet Cobalt.

Land Rover Defender V8 vs. Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 | V8 4x4s square off on paper

Thu, Feb 25 2021

Land Rover pulled the sheet off its 2022 Defender on Wednesday, introducing another high-performance V8 to the off-road segment. This time, it's a 5.0-liter, supercharged V8 boasting 518 horsepower. It will be available in both the Defender 90 and 110 models. In the former, Land Rover says it can crack off a 0-60 run in just 4.9 seconds on its way to a top speed of 149 mph. The long-wheelbase 110 will be a bit slower, but "slow" probably isn't the right adjective to use here at all.  But Land Rover isn't the only automaker offering a high-performance variant of its off-road SUV. While Jeep may have been sneered at for presenting the 2021 Wrangler Rubicon 392 on the heels of the 2021 Ford Bronco's introduction, it starts to make a lot more sense in this context. There's reportedly a high-output Bronco on the way, too, so call Jeep the dinosaur of the group all you want, but you can't put a price on being first. Well, you can, actually, but that's not the point.  Thankfully, both Land Rover and Jeep have provided enough specs for us to rough out a comparison chart. Since the Rubicon 392 is offered only in four-door guise, we're looking at the long-wheelbase Defender 110 as its direct competitor here. Have a look: There are a few caveats to mention off the top. For starters, we don't have an official curb weight for the V8-powered Defender yet, as Land Rover has not finalized its U.S. specs. We used the European figures (as provided by a spokesperson), which we expect to be accurate within about 50 pounds. The 0-60 time provided by Land Rover was for the Defender 90, which is smaller and somewhat lighter than the 110. When equipped with the inline-6, the Defender 110 is about a tenth of a second slower to 60 than the Defender 90, so we figure it should be roughly the same for the V8.  While the Defender has nearly 50 horsepower on the Wrangler, that advantage disappears thanks to the Land Rover V8's monster weight penalty, which will fall somewhere between 600 and 700 pounds depending on equipment. Yikes. On the flip side, however, the Land Rover has the edge in top speed, and it's not even close. Chalk that up to the tires, we suspect. We know for a fact that the Rubicon 392's all-terrains dictate its speed limiter; Jeep's own engineers told us as much. This could make for a (hypothetically) interesting drag race, as the Jeep's advantage off the line may evaporate once triple digits come into play.
