Get ready to be noticed everywhere you go, this Jeep is a head-turning, attention grabbing, urban assault vehicle! The addition of another vehicle to the stable reluctantly forces me to sell, otherwise I'd planned on keeping it forever. This Jeep has been built to tackle the toughest of trails, yet serves as a comfortable driver on-road too. Having never seen rain, snow, or been off-road, this vehicle is absolutely flawless, and has not one scratch, dent, scuff or swirl mark anywhere; it's simply brand-new. The hood, fenders, grille, headlights, fog lights, and windshield surround were covered with clear-bra when new, and the paint has been regularly cared for with Zaino products exclusively. The interior is as-new, and is immaculate. The OEM soft top, and OEM soft windows are brand new, and have no marks or indication they've even been handled! No pets, no drinks, no weather, no stories - it's perfect!
Featuring a 4" lift, tuned 'Rough-Country' suspension, and black 18 KMC-XD series Rockstar wheels wrapped in 35 x 12.50R 18" Nitto Trail Grappler tires, this Jeep has an amazingly aggressive stance, true to the name on its hood, 'Stomper'. Loaded with extra's such as OEM navigation updated with the latest software, 6-speed manual transmission with new $2000 4:88 gears for greater performance, HID headlights, HID fog-lights, KC A-pillar mounted trail lights, custom matte-black graphics, custom grill insert, Infiniti sound system with iPod integration and subwoofer, metal light-guards throughout, towing package, 15% tinted windows, custom Instatrunk, OEM running boards, etc., there's just so much to list! Jeep Cherokee faces on-sale delay
Sat, 23 Mar 2013A report in The Wall Street Journal looks at some of the obstacles to the 2014 Jeep Cherokee that go beyond its mootable yet "very contemporary" looks, almost all of them based on Fiat's financial position. Starting with that sheetmetal, in defense of it SRT president Ralph Gilles and Jeep design head Mark Allen said they wanted to "make sure the design still looks modern five years from now."
The WSJ piece doesn't cite longevity as a factor, instead saying that its features originated in a design for an Alfa Romeo, the transformation into a Jeep design meant allowing Chrysler get it to market more quickly and save "hundreds of millions of dollars" in engineering.
The need for Fiat to save money while it weathers the European situation has cut budgets for development, engineering and the pace of retooling the Toledo, Ohio plant to build the Cherokee. In a familiar case of snowballing at work, among the effects will be pushing back the Cherokee's volume sales date and delaying updates to some of Chrysler's other products.
Watch this 9-year-old drive Jeep Wrangler off-road [w/poll]
Wed, 28 May 2014This nine-year-old girl might be better at rock crawling than some people twice her age. But is it worth putting her in danger to do it? According to her father on the Jeep Experience Facebook page, her name is Faith, and she has been offroading with her family since she was two. At nine years old, she's now driving her dad's Jeep over the rocks by herself.
As you can see she's belted in and under her father's direct supervision and guidance. She shows immense confidence for someone her age and follows her dad's instructions on exactly what to do. Although, this could still be a very dangerous situation if something went wrong.
Previously, we saw a similar video with a six-year-old on a motorcycle driving on public roads through the desert. Voters decided by only a six-point margin that the adult should be in trouble for letting the kid ride the bike. Here, we have a slightly older child driving a vehicle off road. Where do you fall in this case? Is it still wrong to hand over control to a child? Let us know in the poll below and scroll down to watch the video.
FCA facing class-action lawsuit over Grand Cherokee shifters
Fri, Jun 24 2016Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is now facing a multi-million-dollar class-action lawsuit over the recalled shifter design in the 2014 and 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and the 2012 to 2014 Dodge Charger and Chrysler 300. Grand Cherokee owners, galvanized by Star Trek actor Anton Yelchin's fatal accident, filed the suit. According to The Wall Street Journal, the owners allege that FCA concealed the shifter's problems. On top of restitution, the class action suit is demanding a court order force FCA to issue a do-not-drive warning to owners of affected vehicles until it fixes the problem. FCA started distributing a software fix to dealers last week – according to the WSJ, the update will add more warnings about the shifter's position and will automatically kick the vehicle into park if the driver steps out. FCA's shifter problems have been bubbling under the surface as part of the company's recall issues. The US government dinged FCA with a $105 million fine last year for its recall practices (or lack thereof) last year, but things have exploded this week after Yelchin's death. The 27-year-old, best known for playing Ensign Pavel Chekov in the rebooted Star Trek film series, was killed after his 2015 Grand Cherokee rolled down his driveway and pinned the actor against a security gate. According to Jeep CEO Mike Manley, the company will dispatch engineers to analyze Yelchin's vehicle. Related Video:
