Brand new Rusty's off-road 2" lift (springs/shocks) 2014 Rubicon X wheels (on spacers) (less than 500 miles) Automatic. Just replaced rear main seal for slight oil leak. Passed Missouri Inspection New Windshield New black protection on hood/fenders HEadlamp surrrounds new. Grille inserts new. HOOD DECAL - MATTE FINISH New CD player (factory refurb with addition of 1/8" input jack) VERY nice driver. Located in Mound City, MO. So much more. Great looking, driving, mechanically sound, drives like new.. Owned a few Jeeps, sold my last TJ when I recently moved and had my first child. Purchased this one to be able to take the family out in the open air. Only problem was that new mother (my wife) insisted on a new car seat that could have protected the entire Apollo 13 crew. Doesn't really work well in the TJ. This thing is VERY clean and will make someone a VERY nice jeep. Hate to see it go, but time to find another. Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT gets power increase, minor tweaks for 2015
Tue, 02 Sep 2014As a brand within Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, SRT may have an uncertain future, but it's pumping out some seriously mean machines anyway. The supercharged Hellcat V8 may be gobbling up most of the headlines with its 707 horsepower, but even the Grand Cherokee SRT is getting some small updates for the 2015 model year.
Most importantly for many enthusiasts, the Grand Cherokee SRT is getting a slight power bump. Don't expect the 700+ hp from the Hellcat, but this SUV sees a modest 5-hp and 5-pound-feet of torque improvement to bring output to 475 hp and 470 lb-ft for its 6.4-liter V8 with an eight-speed automatic. The minor change doesn't change the sprint to 60 miles per hour, clocking in at the same 4.8 seconds, or the tow rating at 7,200 pounds. Still, more grunt is never a bad idea.
Another new addition is the Active Noise Canceling system as a standard feature for this powerful SUV. It adds four microphones around the vehicle and uses the stereo system to nullify extraneous sound. However, Jeep claims that the meaty exhaust note from the V8 still gets through into the cabin for driver enjoyment.
Jeep Cherokee won't get diesel until sales of oil-burning Grand Cherokee improve
Tue, 01 Jul 2014Okay Jeep fans, you want more diesel options? Time to step up and prove it. The only way Jeep will offer a diesel powerplant in the Cherokee, according to brand head Mike Manley, is if sales of the Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel nearly double.
Currently, about eight percent of the Grand Cherokees sold feature the 3.0-liter, EcoDiesel V6. That's simply not enough to warrant the bringing an oil-burning Cherokee to the US market, despite the vehicle's presence in Europe, where it's sold with a 2.8-liter diesel V6.
"Cherokee is slightly different because of its weight and size. When I think about bringing Cherokee diesel here, I would like to see Grand Cherokee diesel get much higher than eight percent," Manley told Automotive News. "It would have to be in mid-double digits."
