2004 Jeep Wrangler X Sport Utility 2-door 4.0l on 2040-cars
Benton, Illinois, United States
Clean rust free low mileage 2004 Trail Rated Jeep Wrangler X. Southern vehicle purchased new in AZ and then relocated to TN. where I purchased it. Only 57,172 miles. The Jeep has the following bonuses, Aftermarket radio, CD, MP3, detachable face radio (I also have the original radio) amplifier with Kicker speakers added behind rear seat with adjustable bass. Mud Claw 33x12.50x15 tires on black rims with matching wheel rim on the spare tire. (spare was removed for picture of rear tailgate) Best Top with tinted rear windows added new last year. 3.5 inch suspension lift. Jeep also has factory installed option of posi-trac rear end which the original owner ordered when purchased new from dealer. All these options were added prior to my purchasing the Jeep. There is also a high lift jack attached to the front bumper and a aluminum light bar with two KC lights that attaches to the windshield and goes over the top. There are two more KC lights attached to the front bumper which can be re-attached to the light bar. Originally all four were on the light bar but the previous owner removed it and put two of the lights on the bumper. The frame is as clean as your grandma's kitchen. The paint is shiny and waxed but there are some light scratches that were too faint to photograph. I tried but they wouldn't show up. Non of the scratches go to the metal. I don't know if scratch is the right word for them but that is what I am calling them for the ad. I had the Jeep professionally detailed and they told me they could probably be buffed out. a couple of light stone chips. Remember this is a 2004. There is a dent and a few scratches in the rear tailgate that was there when I bought the Jeep. The tailgate works fine. If I was keeping the Jeep I would get a new one pre-painted off Ebay. Or if you're a body guy you can try to removed the dent or buy a used one from a junk yard. Your call on that one.
The Jeep runs smooth and strong. Doesn't knock, smoke or use oil. The clutch is tight and it shifts smoothly. The four wheel drive works but I never went off road with it. I've never driven it in snow or rain except for when out and I ran into rain. It is a fair weather jeep for me that I use when I can put the top down and it stays down. There are "Call of Duty" stickers on the sides of the Jeep but it is not a call of duty edition Jeep. The previous owner put them on and I just left them because my sons liked them. They play the game. Finally, two tires are like new but two are worn because the previous owner told me he didn't rotate them when he should have. I have had the front end aligned and a fresh oil, filter, lube and air filter change. This Jeep is ready to go with many features you won't have to pay for on your own to add. Also, as a bonus, if you pay the "buy it now price" I will throw in 4 new in the box Black Rock Series 941 Dune black steel wheels for free. I just received these and was going to put on more road friendly tires. They are 15 X 8 rims complete with center caps. If I accept a "or best offer" price, you can have the option of buying them at my cost. So, why am I selling? I had neck surgery and the lift, tires and suspension are a little too much for me now. I really like the 2003 to 2006 body style and have found a stock Jeep. Call, email or text if you want additional pictures or have any questions. I have a clear title in hand. Payment will require a $500.00 deposit within 24 hours of sale via Paypal. Final payment will be due within 5 days with either cash, cashiers check or certified check from a bank or credit union. If you pay for shipping I will work with your shipper to arrange pickup. No money orders will be accepted. There is no warranty on the vehicle. Thanks for looking. |

Jeep Renegade to show off new Mopar gear in Detroit
Sun, Jan 11 2015Jeep's adorable new Renegade is arriving in the US market soon (we're looking forward to driving it in a couple weeks), and to highlight that fact, the American off-road brand is trotting out a pair of Mopar-modified compact CUVs for the 2015 North American International Auto Show. Rather simply, Jeep has modified one Renegade to show off its prowess in the city, and another that plays up the crossover's off-road abilities. Despite their different purposes, both vehicles show off Mopar's parts catalog and Jeep's Authentic Accessories lineup for the new baby Jeep. The Urban Renegade borrows uses a Renegade Limited with Anvil paint as its base and draws from the Accessories catalog, adding a number of Omaha orange accents and satin black wheels. Mopar donated a bike-hauling trailer hitch to the rear of the Renegade, while its cabin features Katzkin leather-lined seats. Once again, Omaha orange accents brighten up the Limited's cabin. As for the off-road model, Mopar got a bit more involved, starting with the Renegade Trailhawk and adding satin black wheels with Colorado red trim and X-shaped graphics, borrowed from military jerry cans, to the Commando Green exterior. A number of prototype and one-off body mods were fitted to the Trailhawk, including a concept skid plate, rock rails and a new rear valence. Inside, Katzkin leather was applied to the Renegade's seats while the Omaha orange accents from the Urban Renegade have been replaced with Commando Green bits and bobs in the off-road model. Look for more on these new Renegade twins come Monday, when we hit the floor of the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. Until then, check out the official press release from Mopar. Jeep Wrangler gets the wide-track treatment
Mon, 07 Jan 2013When we read the tip about a Gulf-state diplomat in Rabat, Morocco who had supposedly "merged two Jeep Wranglers," we figured the two off-roaders were somehow linked front-to-back. Oh no. As you can see in the image above, taken from video of that vehicle actually traveling down the road and needing more than one lane to do it, the two Jeeps were put together side-by-side.
The seriously widebody truck is said to have six wheels, one at each corner and two in the middle. That's about all anyone seems to know about it at the moment, and that's probably enough - in these situations you know better than to ask why, just watch the video below.
Gilles defends 2014 Jeep Cherokee design as "very contemporary"
Thu, 28 Feb 2013Following the forced-hand introduction of the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, there has definitely been a mix of responses revolving around everything from its design to the return of the legendary nameplate. As evidence of this, just check out the 1,000+ comments in our article last week and some of the many opinions that were voiced. Following this not-too-warm reception, Ward's Auto had a chance to talk to Chrysler designer chief - and SRT president - Ralph Gilles, who shed a little more light on the styling direction of the new Cherokee.
Rather than looking to previous models for inspiration, Gilles says that the Cherokee has been designed to be more contemporary, with Mark Allen, head of Jeep design, adding that a main goal was to make sure the design still looks modern five years from now. Interestingly, Gilles does point out that one of the design elements incorporated on the new Cherokee that pays homage to past Jeeps is the sharply downward angle for the leading edge of the beltline, which he notes is meant to mimic the look of the old YJ and TJ Wrangler models fitted with half doors. Of course, the squared-off wheel openings - a signature Jeep cue - are still used.
This is probably a design that will need to be seen on the street in actual daylight to properly assess, but in the meantime, we'll bring you full images and impressions when the Cherokee debuts at next month's New York Auto Show.
