As stated above jeep has what I have been told was piston slap , it has been doing it since I bought it @ the first of the year, and only does it at idle speed after it warms up. Hasn't got any worse and I wouldn't be afraid to drive it anywhere but it is there. I bought a new GMC truck and didn't want to drive it to work because of the parking and had wanted a Jeep for awhile and bought this one for the purpose of a work car. I looked at ALOT of jeeps before I found this one, most of them were rusty or beat to death. This one is very clean for the year underneath as well as on top. Got ticked off and retired last month so if I can get my money or close back now I will get rid of the jeep , if not I will keep it as a extra car. I have put @ 4000 miles on it. So there is my story.
Last month I had a new clutch, pressure plate ,throwout bearing, and pilot bearing in it. Also had a small leak so also replaced the oil pan gasket and the engine is VERY clean in the pan and all looked good there, and because I had heard there was a problem with the oil pumps making noise I had it changed while the pan was off (made no difference at all by the way)
Other than mentioned above the jeep runs excellent ,uses no oil,no smoke, and shifts and drives good also. A/C , heat, wipers, power steering/brakes, lights, stereo with speakers in sound bar and dash, all work as they should. 2 tires are different brands but all 5 are in good shape , locks on all 5 wheels , high lift jack , carpet is good also.It was also a guy my age I bought the jeep from and until I got it had spent it's life @ Austin Texas . It also has a throttle body spacer , flowmaster exhaust with header , and a K& N air filter, and as stated the jeep runs and performs very good. It is not a new car so if you expect one buy a different one , I don't have to sell mine and sure do not need the drama.Shipping is on the buyer and all sales are final . If you want to set up a time to look at it that is fine ,PAYPAL FOR DEPOSIT ONLY.

Jeep spied testing Hellcat-powered Grand Cherokee Trackhawk

Fri, Mar 11 2016

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is coming. We know this, because Mike Manley, the head of Jeep, said so. We showed you this brief spy video a while back, but now we have our clearer images of the Trackhawk undergoing testing. And it looks just like a normal Grand Cherokee SRT. Yeah, anti-climactic, we know. The four shots we have show a bit of camo over the front bumper and grille, likely concealing a tweaked design or visible bits of the 6.2-liter, supercharged V8. It looks like there's a rather substantial opening below the upper grille, almost like a ram-air system. There's also a smidge of what looks like tape on the front wheel arches, although this might not mean much of anything. What's interesting is what isn't here. There's no perceivable change to the back of the car. The exhaust pipes look like they're about the same size, there's no noticeable changes to the aerodynamics, and in fact, there's not even any camouflage. Jeep also hasn't updated the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk's hood, which is somewhat surprising considering the changes for every other Hellcat-equipped vehicle (concepts included). You can check out our earliest look at the Trackhawk up top. As for when this monstrous Grand Cherokee will debut, we're expecting it to arrive sometime in 2017, perhaps on FCA's home turf at the Detroit Auto Show. Related Video:

Jeep Grand Cherokee in headliner fire probe

Fri, 23 Aug 2013

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is launching an investigation into 146,000 Jeep Grand Cherokee SUVs from the 2012 model year, The Detroit News reports. This comes as the result of the government safety agency receiving three complaints from owners who cited fires inside the Jeep's cabin.
According to the report, NHTSA says:
"The customers reported a burning odor and visible smoke coming from the headliner while the vehicle was being driven. This was followed by flames from the headliner itself. Customers lowered the windows in an effort to clear the smoke but this increased the fire's intensity. All three vehicles had to be extinguished with a fire extinguisher or by the fire department as they continued to burn after the vehicle was turned off."

China orders Jeep to investigate Wrangler fire risk

Mon, 06 Jan 2014

It's been some time since we've heard anything about fires related to the Jeep Wrangler (foreign or domestic), but it sounds like the go-anywhere SUV could be in hot water once again in China. Bloomberg is reporting that the Chinese government is ordering Jeep to investigate the matter and, in the meantime, also recommending Wrangler owners to not drive their vehicles in "extreme conditions" due to a "relatively high risk" of catching on fire.
There is no indication as to how many vehicles or which model years are affected, but the previous fire problems in both the US and China - which led to investigations but no recalls - were traced back to automatic transmission fluid leaks. The article, however, does not say what the potential problem is this time around as Jeep has not released a comment on the matter. The official notice, in Chinese, can be found here.
