If you have been looking for a pre 1997 square headlight Wrangler that has been well maintained, this is the Jeep for you. I bought this Jeep as a tinker toy and one thing lead to another. I ended up going through it mechanically and it is now ready for somebody to enjoy. The vehicle is in nice shape, I have replaced the following with new parts; Interior carpet, brakes, tie rod ends, shocks, sway bar bushings, exhaust system, heater core,hoses, spark plugs,thermostat, distributor cap and rotor, valve cover gasket and the air filter. I have had the throttle body serviced and the transmission rebuilt less than 100 miles ago. The jeep is an automatic and the four wheel drive works as it should and shifts easily. The tires are BF Goodrich all terrains and have about 75% of their tread left on them. The Jeep has nice road manners at all speeds and goes down the road straight without any vibrations or strange noises, it rides quite compfortably with the new shocks and bushings. I am going to be a father for the first time and this forces the sale of my toys. The Jeep has newer paint and shines up very well, there is one area on the front fender that has developed a two inch area of rust above the fender flare. If it doesnt bother you I will reduce the price by $600.00 and you can have it fixed at a later date. Jeep Liberty replacement takes shape
Wed, 16 Jan 2013Now that the Liberty has left us for greener pastures, it's time to start looking into the future of the midsize Jeep model. The next all-new vehicle for the off-road brand will be the SUV you see here, effectively replacing the Liberty, and not necessarily carrying on with that name.
From the sides, the prototype you see here sort of looks like a miniature version of the handsome Grand Cherokee, albeit with a bit more in the way of body sculpting. Up front, the seven-slat grille will be front and center, with completely revised headlamp designs that are reportedly angular and sweep well into the front fenders (you can sort of see what we're talking about in the side profile). That doesn't sound very Jeep-like, but we'll reserve judgment until we, you know, see the thing.
The bigger question with the Liberty replacement will be whether or not its off-road chops will be up to snuff. After all, the two previous generations of Liberty models were body-on-frame traditional SUVs, whereas this new Jeep rides on a larger version of the Dodge Dart platform.
FCA CEO Mike Manley will take undefined new role after PSA merger
Wed, Dec 18 2019MILAN — Fiat Chrysler Chief Executive Mike Manley will remain with the new group set to result from a planned merger with French rival PSA-Peugeot, Chairman John Elkann said on Wednesday. In a letter to Fiat Chrysler (FCA) employees on the day the two companies announced a binding agreement for a $50 billion tie-up to create the world's fourth-largest carmaker, Elkann said he was "delighted" that the combined group would be led by current PSA CEO Carlos Tavares. "And Mike Manley, who has led FCA with huge energy, commitment and success over the past year, will be there alongside him," he said. He did not say what position Manley would hold. Elkann — who will chair the new group — said there was still much to be done to complete the merger. "Over the coming months we must work tirelessly and determinedly to fulfill all the approval requirements needed to finalize the commitment we have signed," he said. In 2013, the machine could manage 5,000 pounds, while the first generation was rated at just 3,500. The increase is mostly attributable to a new eight-speed automatic transmission and beefier rear axle, and it's a welcome update for those who'd like to use their SUV as, well, an SUV with an emphasis on utility.
