PLEASE READ MY ENTIRE AD AND VIEW ALL PHOTOS BEFORE BIDDING. Up for auction is my 1993 Jeep Wrangler. I am the fourth owner and have not had it very long. My wife absolutely hates it. She is definitely not a Jeep person. So I’ve been informed to buy myself another vehicle. I’m 69 years young and the last owner was in his seventies. It’s always been adult driven, always garaged and maintained properly. This Jeep has never been modified or molested in any way. No hill climbs, mudding  or anything else that the youngsters put these Jeeps through. For a 93 model it really is a true survivor. She runs absolutelt perfect with no oil use between changes. Absolutely no drips in your garage. No funny noises from anywhere. The 2.5 litter engine puts out 130 HP and is very strong. When in 4 wheel low you could scale the Rock of Gibralta. The engine runs very cool and the oil preasure stays between 45 and 70 PSI, depending wether you are at an idle or driving. The front end seems very tight with no shimmying and she tracs perfectly. The interior was perfect when I purchased it except for a nasty split in the drivers seat. As you can see from the photos, I have had this seat reupholstered with factory material and a brand new console installed. It comes with an after market CD player and does have the speaker bar installed. It has the hard top, metal doors and real windows. ( These are a $2,500 extra when you have to buy them ).  Of course all this removes in a matter of minutes for the real Jeep sport look. The four wheel drive works perfect. The transfer case is in excellent condition. She sports her original paint which you can see from the photos is in great condition. There has never been any rust any where and the vehicle has never been in an accident. No paintwork ever. It’s as straight as an arrow. It was not ordered with A/C. It has heat only and it will burn you out. All electrics are in perfect working order( lights, horn, blinkers, windshield wipers, squirters, dash lighting, guages, etc). At 146,000 miles this is very low for a 93 automobile. This Jeep is not breathing hard yet. Recent work to the jeep includes: Reupholstered front seat, new console, new radiator, all new hoses to include heater hoses, New valve cover gasket, muffler, cat. Converter,  tune up, all new hard top rubber, four new axel bumps and brakes, and new rear shocks.  It also sports almost new tires (see photo). The clutch slave cylinder was replaced several thousand miles ago. I do have most reciepts for work done. Also there’s a 5th five point alloy with the spare on it in the rear.  I have a clear Georgia title, owners manual and two sets of keys. NADA clean book value is $7,400.00. Average book is $4,900.00. The jeep is a lot closer to clean book than average book. I am trying to get $6,295,00 for the jeep as I feel that’s a fair price. You can phone me at 706-736-3972 from 9AM tp 9PM E.S.T. if you have any other questions or want to set up a time to drive and inspect the Jeep before bidding. I will also accept reasonable offers.

A $500.00 nonrefundable deposit will be due at auction end Payable through PayPal and the balance will be due within seven days of auction end payable in cash or cashiers check. NO CREDIT UNION CHECKS!!! You will be responsible for shipping or pick up. I will assist any way I can. PLEASE READ MY FEED BACK AND BID WITH ABSOLUTE CONFIDENCE. Thanks for taking the time to read my ad and good luck bidding. You won’t be disappointed in this vehicle.

Jeep 'trailer hitch' recall repair rates lag amidst reports of new death

Sat, Jan 10 2015

The problem with exploding fuel tanks in the 1993-1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2002-2007 Jeep Liberty in some rear collisions continues to be a problem for FCA US, formerly Chrysler. The campaign to fix the utility vehicles was first announced in June 2013 after 51 claimed fatalities, and the fixes reportedly began in January 2014. However, there continue to be new deaths blaming the problem in unrepaired models, according to The Detroit News, citing data from the Center for Auto Safety. The automaker initially refused NHTSA's pressuring to conduct a recall because the models met applicable crash standards when they were manufactured, but eventually, there was a compromise to inspect and fix about 1.56 million Jeeps. With the fuel tank located between the rear axle and bumper, the unusual fix was to install a trailer hitch for extra protection. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration later agreed that the change would provide added safety in lower to medium speed crashes, but not high-speed crashes. The most recent fatality, according to The Detroit News, occurred on a Michigan freeway in November 2014 when a pregnant woman in a 2003 Liberty was rear-ended when traffic slowed. Her Jeep impacted the vehicle in front, rolled over and a fire resulted. The family reportedly plans to file a lawsuit against FCA. At issue has been the rate at which the vehicles are being fixed. In July 2014, the automaker estimated it could have all of the vehicles repaired by March 2015 thanks to additional hitch supplies. But by November, NHTSA claimed that only three percent of the recalled models had been fixed. FCA says it continues to work to notify owners, though. According to Chrysler spokesperson Eric Mayne to Autoblog, "We are processing approximately 1,200 vehicles per day. Every owner who schedules service is receiving service. As of Jan. 8, that total was 193,490." The company has also mailed out over two million notifications to owners, more than the number officially called in. Given the age of these Jeeps, many of them have had multiple owners, and historically, the older a vehicle is, the less likely the recall fixes are to be carried out. FCA is currently creating a video urging people to have the hitch installed to be released soon. Dongfeng and PSA extend Chinese joint venture

Thu, Dec 19 2019

BEIJING/PARIS — China's Dongfeng and Peugeot maker PSA are extending their business cooperation, despite the Chinese company reducing its stake in PSA to help smooth the French carmaker's merger with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA). Dongfeng said on Thursday it had agreed with PSA to extend the duration of their joint venture Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobiles (DPCA). Under the deal, the venture could get the rights to PSA's new brands in China and will benefit from new technologies and intellectual properties, the Chinese company said. PSA was not immediately available for comment. The announcement comes a day after the companies said Dongfeng would reduce its 12.2% stake in PSA by selling 30.7 million shares to the French company. Analysts said the move could smooth U.S. regulatory approval for PSA's roughly $50 billion (GBP38.97 billion) merger with Italian-American carmaker FCA. The sale of Dongfeng's shares in PSA, worth around 680 million euros ($757 million), will leave the Chinese group holding around 4.5% of the merged PSA-FCA, which is set to become the world's fourth-biggest carmaker by sales volumes. "As the cooperation between Dongfeng and PSA deepens, we expect the joint venture to continue making good progress in China," a Dongfeng representative said. On a conference call, Dongfeng said DPCA would have exclusive rights to PSA's Opel cars should the partners agree to bring the brand to China, and enjoy lower prices on car parts imported from PSA. Earlier this year, a document seen by Reuters showed Dongfeng and PSA plan to cut jobs at Wuhan-based DPCA and reduce its number of car plants to try to make the venture more profitable. FCA recalling 63k Jeeps, Vipers and Ram ProMaster City vans

Thu, Apr 23 2015

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles has announced a pair of recalls cover nearly 63,000 vehicles. The bigger of the two actions covers manual-transmission-equipped vehicles from 2006, including the Jeep Liberty and Wrangler, as well as the Dodge Viper. FCA engineers uncovered that the clutch ignition interlock switches use a kind of wire that was part of a previous recall campaign. Because of this, the company said that affected vehicles may not start, although in rare cases, "if recommended starting procedures are not followed," the affected vehicles may lurch forward after turning the key. Those recommended starting procedures "include activating the parking brake, placing the shift lever in neutral and pressing the clutch pedal before turning the vehicle's ignition key." Recall number two affects the company's 2015 Ram ProMaster City cargo and passenger vans. Owners will need to report to dealers to have a piece of tape removed from the side-curtain airbags. The tape is added during assembly and in some cases, may not have been removed. That could prevent the airbags from deploying in the event of a crash. Just under 59,000 vehicles are included in the first recall, including 43,874 in the United States, 11,309 outside of North America, 2,944 in Canada and 706 in Mexico. The ProMaster City recall includes just over 3,900 vehicles. FCA claims it's unaware of any injuries, fatalities or accidents related to either recall and will perform repairs free of charge. Scroll down for the official press release on both campaigns. Related Video: Statement: Clutch Ignition Interlock Switch April 23, 2015 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - FCA US LLC is launching a voluntary recall of an estimated 43,874 older-model U.S.-market cars and SUVs equipped with manual transmissions. The Company will replace their clutch ignition interlock switches at no charge to customers. The action follows an investigation by FCA US engineers that discovered these vehicles are equipped with switches that contain a certain type of wire implicated in a previous campaign. The wire, which was temporarily substituted by a supplier for the specified material, may break. As a result, the vehicles may not start, and in rare cases – if recommended starting procedures are not followed – a vehicle may exhibit unintended movement when its ignition key is turned. FCA US is unaware of aware of any related injuries or accidents involving this population of vehicles.
