Here is an almost finished project Jeep. My son and I started working on this a couple of years ago and now that he's graduating in May he wont need it as he's going off to a college where he won't need a car. I have no desire to finish it as I have no time to do so. What's wrong with it and what isnt? Here's the list...
New fuel sender/pump
Clean fuel tank
New exhaust manifold
New exhaust including muffler
New marker lights
One new headlight
New paint - I painted it so it's not a factory finish. It's a little orange peeled. The paint is thick enough that it can be wet sanded and buffed and would look awesome
Newish wheels and tires. Tread is about 80-90% still there
New spare tire
New seats, front & back
New leather cover
New brake shoes and pads (in the box - need installed)
New turn signal relay
New fluids
Floor pan sprayed with rhino liner
Dash completely taken apart, painted with vinyl paint and partially reinstalled.
New shocks (2 years ago)
New windshield
What does it need?
Needs some minor electrical work, gauges hooked back up, that kind of stuff
Needs a stereo
Has no heater or A/C Have some of the heater parts
Front end is a little lose...not excessive just normal wear
needs a headlight
The top needs to be fitted correctly. I just have it sorta sitting on it now.
There is a small rubber gas line near the tank that has a small leak
Driver's side front tire loses pressure
Needs brakes installed
Rear trans seal needs replaced (I have it and it goes with the jeep)
There's a plastic breather hose on the top of the valve cover that needs replaced. It's broken.
This jeep is almost there. With a little work it will give someone years of great service. I'd keep it myself but I just don't have time or the space for another vehicle in my driveway. Title is clear and will be given to the buyer when the vehicle is picked up/paid for.
We need a $500 deposit at the close of the auction and the balance needs to be paid before or when the vehicle is picked up. No personal checks. We accept cash only. We arent a dealer. Will help with shipping arrangements but shipping/pickup costs are the responsibility of the buyer.
The engine runs OUTSTANDING! It idles like brand new. The fluids were all changed out. Doesn't smoke at all and has no issues whatsoever.
On Feb-12-13 at 12:16:22 PST, seller added the following information:
I forgot to add, this is a single owner vehicle. It spent most of it's life in San Antonio, so there is little to no rust. The floorpan is solid as is the rest of the vehicle. No rot whatsoever. The fender flares are new as well and there are brand new tail lights that come with it. There's easily $3000 in rehab done to this jeep.

FCA delays Grand Wagoneer and next-generation heavy-duty Ram trucks
Mon, Dec 12 2016The upcoming Jeep Grand Wagoneer has had a tumultuous gestation thus far. At one point it was essentially confirmed, but later it was rumored to have been cancelled. In that context, the latest report from Automotive News is something of a mixed blessing. According to the publication, the Grand Wagoneer has simply been delayed, as has the next-generation Ram heavy duty truck line. This does not seem to affect the fully redesigned Ram 1500, which was previously reported to have been pushed back slightly to 2019. Automotive News says the information came from unnamed sources at the company. Nothing was said about how long the vehicles would be delayed. The publication also conjectures that FCA is delaying the models to save some money to help cover the company's $7 billion of debt , since re-tooling both the heavy-duty truck plant and eventual Grand Wagoneer plant will be expensive. View 6 Photos We reached out to Chrysler for more information on the subject, but the company wouldn't comment on the report. Even so, we wouldn't be too surprised if FCA is indeed delaying these products. The company has delayed a number of vehicles in recent years. In fact nearly every major FCA truck and SUV, including the Grand Wagoneer and Ram line, were delayed about a year and a half ago. We certainly hope the company doesn't delay the Grand Wagoneer for too long, since it's possible it will have a price tag of over $130,000. The profit margins on an SUV with that kind of MSRP would go a long way to helping to pay down the company's debt. Related Video:
2015 Jeep Renegade
Tue, 04 Mar 2014It's no secret that the midsize crossover segment is one of the most hotly contested battlegrounds in the automotive industry. Long have vehicles like the Ford Escape, Honda CR-V and Toyota RAV4 duked it out for those ever illusive consumer dollars. For many customers, though, even something like a Nissan Rogue is too big, whether in terms of price, fuel economy or just plain size.
For those customers, a growing market segment seems poised to fulfill their needs. Compact crossovers and tall wagons like the Nissan Juke and Kia Soul offer the high-riding driving experience with all the utility that comes from their two-box layout. It's an underrepresented segment among manufacturers, with big names like Toyota, Ford, General Motors and Honda lacking a true competitor.
To capitalize on this growing class, Chrysler's Jeep brand has readied this: the Renegade. That's right. Not Jeepster - Renegade. This diminutive off-roader, which rides on Fiat Chrysler's new small-wide 4x4 architecture, represents Jeep's first foray into the subcompact CUV segment as we know it, and it's making its official debut this week, on the floor of the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. Join us as we take a close look at one of Jeep's most important products in some time.
Toyota tops Kelley Blue Book's Resale Value Awards
Tue, 27 Nov 2012Kelley Blue Book announced its annual Best Resale Value Award winners, and we weren't too surprised to see the list dominated by Japanese automakers - mainly Toyota and Honda. KBB hands out the awards based on the projected residual value of mostly all 2013 model year vehicles, and Toyota skated home with a number of awards including 10 of the 22 overall categories and having five of its products in the top 10 for models with best resale value. KBB's Best Resale Value Awards were announced in the same week as the ALG Residual Value Awards, and there were many similarities between both lists, especially when it came to Toyota.
To come up with its winners, KBB measures depreciation over the first five years of ownership, and looks for the cars it expects to hold its value the best after this time; on average, the report says the 2013 model year vehicles will lose 61.8 percent of its value in five years. Of the 22 categories, 15 slots were filled by Toyota, Honda and Nissan products, while the Camaro and Porsche (Cayenne and Panamera) each took home a pair of awards. If Toyota has anything to be upset about in this list of cars, it's that categories for Hybrid/Alternative Energy Car and Electric Vehicle went to the Ford Fusion and Chevrolet Volt, respectively.
The overall top 10 models for the best resale value in 2013 are, in alphabetical order:
