Heavily Modified for Off Road: Had Chevy 350 Engine
This Jeep was heavily modified with Chevy 350 engine (1977) and SM 465 Transmission. The Engine blew a couple of years ago. I pulled it out, but just have not had the time or money to put another engine in it.
It has some great parts. About all you need to make this into a rock crawler is an engine. The mounts are for a 70's era Chevy 350, but there are plenty of other options. Or, it would make a great parts Jeep. The rear axle alone cost $1,700.
I probably forgot a couple, but here's a listing:
- 35x15.5 x15 Super Swamper TSL/SX (5)
- 12" Aluminum Alloy Rims (5) (CJ7 Pattern)
- Dynatrac Dana 60 Rear with Disc Brakes
- Dana 44 front from a Wagoneer (completely rebuilt)
- Detroit Lockers in Front and Rear
- Warn Locking Hubs
- 3" Lift Springs, Springover
- 3" Body Lift
- Heavy Duty Running Boards
- Custom Roll Cage
- 24 Gallon Tank with Skid Plate
- Factory GM Fuel Pump in tank for TBI Injection
- Warn 9000 lb Electric Winch
- SM 465 Tranny Completely Rebuilt (Granny 1st gear!)
- Torsion Bars
- Heavy Duty Alum Radiator (Fitted for 77 Chevy 350)
- Heavy Duty Electric Fan
- Centerforce Clutch, VERY Low Miles
- Transfer Case Modified with JB Conversions Heavy Duty Fixed Output Shaft
- Custom Drive Shafts
- Heavy Duty Brake Master Cylinder
- Braided Custom Brake Lines
- Custom Swing Out Spare Tire Carrier
- Two Gas Cans
- Tow Bar
- Soft Top (black)
- Bikini Top (Black)
Frame is in great shape, no rust. Body is a little weathered, but no rust. A few places have been touched up with spray paint. Finish is dull and dirty, but fully functional. It has never been rolled, but has been driven in extreme off road conditions. There are dents, dings, and scratches as you would expect from an off road vehicle.
Clear Alabama Title. (Regular title, not salvage)
Note: Buyer must provide safe means of pickup, preferably a tow truck or car hauler. It does come with a tow bar and can be flat towed, but you are responsible for lights and any other equipment required for legal towing.

Jeep Renegade signed by the Rolling Stones brings in $46k for charity
Thu, Jan 1 2015What do Jeep and the Rolling Stones have in common? Well, they've both have been around for longer than most of us, they seem just about indestructible, and not long after one shipped out from America to help save Britain, the other lead the British Invasion of America. But the two enduring icons also came together this past summer as one sponsored the other's European tour. And while they were in Rome, Jeep had the members of the legendary rock group sign a new Renegade that just went up for auction. Bearing the signatures of the immortal Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts, this star-studded, pint-sized off-roader – the first Jeep to be built in Italy – sold for an impressive $46,000 to an anonymous bidder. That's about two-and-a-half times what the new pebble-crawler is expected to sell for when it reaches showrooms. Proceeds from the sale, handled by Charitybuzz.com, will benefit Community Links, a social-inclusion organization based in London. View 56 Photos
Jeep Wrangler's shift to aluminum could see production leave Toledo
Mon, 06 Oct 2014The Jeep Wrangler may be a timeless design, but sooner or later, time will run out and Chrysler will have to replace it with a newer model more friendly towards the earth it's designed to traverse. That will, it seems, mean a shift to aluminum construction (whether just for the body or for the entire structure) - but what will that mean for the Wrangler's long-time home of Toledo, OH?
According to the latest pronouncements from Fiat Chrysler chief Sergio Marchionne, the shift to an aluminum Wrangler would likely mean moving production out of Toledo. "If the solution is aluminum," Marchionne told Automotive News, "then I think unfortunately Toledo is the wrong place, the wrong setup to try and build a Wrangler, because it requires a complete reconfiguring of the assets that would be cost-prohibitive."
Marchionne also indicated that, were Wrangler production to move elsewhere, it would find another line to take its place in Ohio. "One of the thing that we are dealing with now is what else we do with Toledo that fulfills our commitment to the city and to Ohio. I don't have a doubt that there will be zero impact on head count and employment levels and anything else." Jeep has built the Wrangler in Toledo since World War II, with the exception of six years starting in 1986 when it was built in Brampton, Ontario. The complex dates back to 1910 and currently produces the Wrangler and Cherokee. Past products have included the Wagoneer and Commanche as well as the Dodge Dakota and Nitro.
The Chrysler brand could be axed under Stellantis management
Sun, Jan 3 2021MILAN — While running NissanÂ’s North American operations from 2009 to 2011, Carlos Tavares had a reputation for closely watching costs with little tolerance for vehicles or ventures that didnÂ’t make money. Experts say that means Tavares, currently the head of PSA Group, is likely to follow that blueprint when he becomes leader of a merged PSA and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles. The low-performing Chrysler brand might get the axe as could slow-selling cars, SUVs or trucks that lack potential. Already the companies are talking about consolidating vehicle platforms — the underpinnings and powertrains — to save billions in engineering and manufacturing costs. That could mean job losses in Italy, Germany and Michigan as PSA Peugeot technology is integrated into North American and Italian vehicles. “You canÂ’t be cost efficient if you keep the entire scale of both companies,” said Karl Brauer, executive analyst for the iSeeCars.com auto website. “WeÂ’ve seen this show before, and weÂ’re going to see it again where they economize these platforms across continents, across multiple markets.” Shareholders of both companies are to meet Monday to vote on the merger to form the worldÂ’s fourth-largest automaker, to be called Stellantis. The deal received EU regulatory approval just before Christmas. Tavares, who for years has wanted to sell PSA vehicles in the U.S., wonÂ’t take full control of the merged companies until the end of January at the earliest. He likely will target Europe for consolidation first, because thatÂ’s where Fiat vehicles overlap extensively with PSAÂ’s, said IHS Markit Principal Auto Analyst Stephanie Brinley. Europe has been a money-loser for FCA, and factories in Italy are operating way below capacity — a concern for unions, given FiatÂ’s role as the largest private sector employer in the country. “We are at a crossroads,Â’Â’ said Michele De Palma of the FIOM CGIL metalworkersÂ’ union. “Either there is a relaunch, or there is a slow agonizing closure of industry, in particular the auto industry, in Italy.” ItalyÂ’s hopes lie with the luxury Maserati and sporty Alfa Romeo brands, but De Palma said investments are needed to bring hybrid and electric technology up to speed. FiatÂ’s Italian capacity stands at 1.5 million vehicles, but only a few hundred thousand are being produced each year. Most factories were on rolling short-term layoffs due to lack of demand, even before the pandemic.
