This is a 1987 Jeep  Wrangler I took in on trade. It has a Chevy V8 350 motor and 350 turbo transmission. Currently set up for two wheel drive, however I have a spare auto transmission and transfer case should you want to change it back to four wheel drive and this will be included in the sale. Jeep has power steering and power brakes. New windshield, new winch that needs the wiring completed, new HD front bumper, new tires 33" x 12.5" x 15" swampers, new chrome rims, new front bucket seats, rear seat, roll bar grab handles, new springs, new battery, new aluminum radiator, chrome valve covers, chrome air cleaner, comes with spare hardtop, grille stone guard and some jeep parts catalogs.  Runs and drives on lot, however brakes need longer flex lines installed since the lift was completed. I do not know the condition of the motor as far as miles and hours on motor. Starts right up, seems to accelerate fine, no smoke, transmission seems in great condition, no slipage, fluid is up. This jeep does have some small leaks here and there as is normal with all 4x4's. Wipers work, all lights work, motor has headers over the frame rail with glass pack type mufflers. Selling as is due to age. Body shows no signs of rust, frame is solid as well. Odometer shows 37,000 some miles, don't know it this is original or not. Title does not state mileage, but looking at the condition of the body it could be actual.  Jeep has two emblems, one on each side that says the name of "BULLITT". Have clear Michigan title signed by person who sold jeep to me. NO INTERNATIONAL sales, only sold to USA buyers. Shipping is up to buyer and vehicle must be picked up within 7 days of auction ending. Selling at no reserve.  Down payment of $500.00 through PayPal, balance in cash at time of pickup. Questions, call Gene @ 260-414-6573. Good Luck Bidding!

On Mar-04-13 at 16:59:41 PST, seller added the following information:

Had a question about the leaks........this Jeep is 26 years old and yes it has a few leaks. Also need to mention the starter is new. Jeep will need some tender love and care to be perfect as with any 26 year old vehicle. If you parted this Jeep out it would bring far more than my starting price of $2500.00. All I want is the money that I invested back out of it......that is why the starting price was so low.

Hendrick wants to put Jeep Wranglers back on the battlefield

Mon, Jan 25 2016

The Jeep Wrangler could be headed back to the battlefield. According to reports, negotiations are currently under way with the US Army to adapt the iconical American off-roader for military use. The Wranglers would serve as inexpensive, lightweight, unarmored vehicles that could be more easily airlifted into remote locations than costlier, heavier, and bulkier options. The proposal is not being fielded by the Jeep brand itself or its parent company Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, but by Hendrick Dynamics. The Charlotte-based offshoot of NASCAR racing team Hendrick Motorsports calls its modified Wrangler the Hendrick Commando. Instead of the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 found in most US-market Wranglers, the Commando version employs the 2.8-liter diesel four built by VM Motori, modified to run on any type of diesel fuel or on JP-8 jet fuel to maximize its deployment versatility and comply with the Army's Single Fuel mandate of 2012. It would also support a variety of modular attachments for specific jobs, ranging from machine gun mounts and counter-mine rakes to radar arrays and advanced communications equipment. Hendrick says the Commando could also be deployed by helicopter or in cargo planes. And because it's based on a civilian platform, the Commando would also benefit from the latest advancements introduced by its manufacturer, the parts and service network already in place, and the thorough testing that's already gone into developing the Wrangler for civilian use. Hendrick has reportedly built 14 prototypes to date, including the two-door Commando 2 (based on the standard Wrangler), the four-door Commando 4 (based on the Wrangler Unlimited), and even a pickup conversion called the Commando S. It is not, however, the only company adapting Jeep Wranglers for military application. Israel-based Automotive Industries Ltd has been producing successive versions of the Wrangler-based Storm for use by the Israel Defense Forces and other militaries overseas since 1990. If the US Army awards the contract for the Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) vehicle to Hendrick Dynamics, it would bring the iconic Jeep back to the battlefield where it got its start. The brand and its most prolific model trace their roots back to the Willys MB, launched in 1941 on contract from the US Army for deployment in World War II.

2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee recalled for wiring harness

Sat, May 14 2016

The Basics: Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is recalling an estimated 32,267 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee models in the US over a wiring harness terminal that can lose its electrical connection. The Problem: An improperly crimped wiring harness may cause the vehicle's shifter to become locked in Park or Neutral once the vehicle is brought to a stop. Injuries/Deaths: None that FCA is aware of. If you own one: FCA suggests owners use their parking brakes when exiting the vehicle. Affected customers will be notified when they may schedule service. More information: An additional 2,095 vehicles in Canada, 538 in Mexico, and 2,472 outside the NAFTA region are also affected by this recall. Questions? Call the FCA US Customer Care Center at 1-800-853-1403. Related Video: Recalls Jeep Safety SUV
