Up for auction is my 2003 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon.  I purchased the Jeep form a friend a little over 2 years ago.  Due to having two small children I need something I can use as a family vehicle and that is forcing this sell.  As far as the mileage Ive put almost 5,000 miles in the last 2 and about 90k were put on by the previous owner.  I can confidently say 95% of the miles are highway miles, as I do know the previous owner.

The Jeep just recently had some work to include new rear brakes, oil change, replaced the Axle Lock switch, and new windshield.
Everything on the Jeep works and I have had no problems with it.  It has been a blast with no issues.

This Jeep is Light Khaki Metallic with Khaki cloth interior.  The paint does have the normal swirls in the paint and the seats look great for their age.  There are a few smaller scratches and dings in the plastic fender flares.

From the factory this Jeep had the following:
4WD with lockable front and rear axle
Power Steering
5 Speed Manual Transmission
4 Wheel Disc Brakes
Skid Plates on the Transfer Case and Fuel Tank
Fog Lights
Air Conditioning
Speed Control
AM/FM with CD
7 Speekers including Subwoofer and Tweeters (All speakers recently replaced with quality Polk Audio marine grade speakers)

Some of the aftermarket features that have been added include:
2.5" Lift OME Lift
OME Steering Dampner
Steering Box Skid Plate
Superwinch S9000
Tuffy Overhead Console
Tuffy Center Console with lockable box (w/ 2keys)
Polk Audio Speakers (replaced last October)
Garvin Front Bumper with hitch mount (currently hold the front license plate using the provided bracket)
Garvin Expedition Rack
Garvin Trail Rack (Currently not installed but included)
Garvin Gas/Water Can Racks (2 - Currently not installed but included)
Garvin Spare Tire adapter (Currently not installed but included)
Garvin shovel/ax holder
Garvin Swingaway spare tire holder with attached Hi-Lift Jack (included)
Bed Lined the tub of the Jeep

I also have a brand new pair of heavy rubber floor mats that go with the Jeep.  These are the quality Quadratec floor mats with the "Tread Lightly" logo and have never been used. Also included are 2 additional soft door uppers with good frames and plastic.  Ill also include a bikini top.  I cant speak for the quality of the bikini top as Ive never installed it and I can't even say its complete.

Everything on this Jeep works fine.  The AC blows cold and the heat blows hot.  All lights work and the stereo sounds good.  The 4WD works great and the Axle Lock switch works now since its been replaced.  I see no leaks underneath and the top keeps the water out.  It has a current Virginia State Safety Inspection that was just done in March 2013.

I have lots of paperwork that goes with the Jeep.  I have most oil change receipts and other items from the manufacture build sheet and window sticker to brochures for the winch and other items.

I require a non-refundable deposit of $500 within 48 hours of auction ending.  The remainder is due within 10 days or before picking up or shipment of the Jeep, whichever is sooner.  Payment must also clear completely before picking up or shipping.  I will accept Cash, Bank Check, or Paypal.

I will assist, within reason, with shipping at buyers expense.  It will be the buyers responsibility to arrange pickup if using a carrier.  You can also pick it up in person if you'd like.

If you have any questions please let me know.  Id be more then willing to answer any questions or let you look at and/or drive the Jeep.  If you also require specific pictures let me know and I can get them to you.

There is NO warranty on this Jeep and please ask questions before bidding.

Thanks and good luck!

Marchionne: Midsize pickup still not in the cards; Ram 1500, Jeep Wrangler could use aluminum

Wed, 07 May 2014

During the Fiat-Chrysler briefings on Tuesday, Reid Bigland, head of Ram Trucks, outlined the new product plans for his brand, including confirmation that an all-new light-duty Ram 1500 will launch in 2017. From there, discussions spun off in two directions, with the main questions being: will Ram build a midsize pickup? And, following Ford's move to extensively use aluminum in its new 2015 F-150, will Chrysler be using this weight-saving material for the next round of its fullsize truck, as well?
"I think there is room for a Ram 1000," Fiat-Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne (pictured above) told members of the media, saying this is a conversation the automaker has been having internally for several years now. "We've tried this ... we've actually taken it to clinics," Marchionne stated, adding that the "response has been lukewarm."

Six 'shut up and take my money' cars

Tue, 11 Nov 2014

Any time you see this iconic moment in pop culture - Shut up and take my money! - posted in response to a new car reveal, rumor for an upcoming model or even lip-service to a vehicle that should exist, you can bet there's some intrinsic good in the idea. Though depending on the person offering up the cash, that good could take the form of extraordinary form, functionality, weight savings, power, handling, etc. You get the idea.
In fact, when I first proposed this list, I reached out to the Autoblog staff to help me brainstorm. Here are some of the ideas they offered up that I ultimately didn't use: Jaguar XE Coupe, Pagani Huayra Roadster, Mercedes-Benz S-Class "parade car" (cabriolet), Morgan 3-Wheeler with Ducati V-twin, Ford Transit Connectamino (pickup), Mercedes CLA63 AMG, Ford Fusion 5.0, BMW i8 Spyder, Lexus RC-F Shooting Brake, Volvo XC90 Polestar. Oh, and things we collectively wanted to stick Dodge's Hellcat in were almost as numerous as models that Fiat Chrysler Automotive currently makes (though none quite so compelling as the Grand Cherokee you see above.)
Ultimately though, while I used a couple of ideas from my colleagues, the list of cars I'd shell out for unquestionably is very personal. Though it isn't complete, what follows is a selection of cars whose very existence would prompt me - or the trust-fund-baby versions of me - to utter without hesitation: "Shut up and take my money."

Daily Driver: 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited X Edition

Thu, Apr 9 2015

Daily Driver videos are micro-reviews of vehicles in the Autoblog press fleet, reviewed by the staffers that drive them every day. Today's Daily Driver features the 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited X Edition, reviewed by Adam Morath. You can watch the video above or read a transcript below. Watch more Autoblog videos at /videos. VIDEO TRANSCRIPT Hi, I'm Adam Morath for Autoblog. Now, undoubtedly, one of the coolest things about this job is that you're in and out of so many different vehicles, but, I'll be honest, there are times where, if you're in very similar vehicles, they can start to run together a little bit. That's why I love getting into a car like this that just snaps you right out of it because it's so unique and so different from anything else on the market. Of course I'm talking about the Jeep Wrangler. I'm in a 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. This is the X Edition, which stands for X Games. Jeep is a big title sponsor of the 2015 Aspen X Games and you can see that all over this vehicle. You have white, glossy accent plastic in the interior; mountain graphics throughout the interior and exterior of the vehicle – a nod, obviously, to the winter sports and skiing that you would do out in Aspen. And then in keeping with that mountainous theme, you have an Alpine nine-stereo speaker system. I'll be honest, though, that some of it feels a little overdone to me. For instance, there's a power-bulge in the hood. Credit to Jeep: the vents are actually functional, but this is not the trim I would go for, just personally. It's one of those vehicles that people are always wondering, "I really like the look of it [and] I like the capability, but could I live with a Wrangler?" It's the same sort of question you'll get from people who are looking at a sports car, "could I actually live with this is my daily driver?" And I have to say, Jeep has come a long way – Wrangler, in particular, has come a long way – in terms of driving comfort. Of course, don't expect "Lexus quiet." You can probably hear it's a big noisy in the cabin. It's a bit of a bumpy ride. There are things about this vehicle that I could see being annoying in your day-to-day life. For instance, the door: it's essentially an external hinge on the door, but it doesn't stay open for you. So, if you're on any sort of a tilt, the door will come back in and you have to just prop it open with your leg. Little things like that.
