Metallic Merlot Over Oxblood, Nearly Perfect Inside And Out, No Rust Ever on 2040-cars
San Luis Obispo, California, United States
You are bidding on what may be the very nicest Grand Wagoneer available!
***I have just learned through Ebay's VIN check that this vehicle shows a Salvage branding on the title at some point. The GA title I received was clear and the Michigan Title I hold is CLEAR (see the pic). I believe in full disclosure and am now sadly re-listing with a Salvage title. Undeserving of such a fine example. However, I stand by the description below and still hold that you will not find a nicer Wagoneer. Shipping is Free, up to $700, if you purchase it for my very reasonable "buy it now" price Quick Stats: 1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer 75,427 Original miles. VIN 1J4GS5874KP108410 Beautiful Oxblood leather interior Very Good Metallic Merlot Exterior Paint Towing Package *As a perfectionist and an engineer, I work hard to only acquire the best vehicles for my personal use and then continue to work hard to maintain their level of perfection. This Wagoneer is no different. I believe in a full disclosure approach to selling such that you can be the most comfortable in your remote purchase. See the many photos. Check out the videos where I point out all of the flaws that are known to me. No Disappointments! Body: The body is in great condition. It has been repainted the original color at some point. There is no rust. There is absolutely no sign of damage or accidents that I can find or am aware of. With the exception of the tailgate, all the panels and glass look to be original. See the video where I walk around the body and point out the known flaws. Here's the link to the Video: http://youtu.be/iWv_JL7fqE0 Interior: The interior is in amazing condition! Unbelievable for a vehicle that is 25 years old. The Oxblood leather is near perfect. The door panels are flawless. Very original. It is clear that this wagoneer has always lived a pampered life. The passenger power windows are slow but work best from their respective door switched. See the video where I show a few areas for improvement. Powertrain: I've gone through the original AMC 360 V8 and have replaced everything wearable: Water pump, oil pump(with mid-plate), alternator, bearings, rings, gaskets, seals, cam, upgrade to electric fuel pump, etc, etc. I've upgraded the cooling system with a custom aluminum radiator and a large oil-cooler. I've replaced all of the emission controls including the cat. It has a brand new smog pump that is installed but not hooked up. It has not passed California smog, but I see no reason that it won't be able to. The 4wd works perfectly. I've re-leveled the suspension to sit more appropriately for a classic SUV. There are new shock absorbers See the video:http://youtu.be/If38j98_Lwk *Flaw: Despite all my careful efforts, the motor occasionally drips oil. Not a puddle, just 1 or 2 drips while parked. I haven't had time to chase it down, but It seems to be coming from the back of a valve cover. Not a big deal for most, but disappointing for me. My apologies. Additionally, it shall be known that while the tires have a lot of tread left roll smoothly and quietly, they are more than 10yrs old, and should be replaced. History: I found this Jeep in Georgia and bought it for summer use only to pull the family boat back in Michigan. The seller I bought it from told me that it has always belong to people in his neighborhood. After moving to California, realizing that I no longer use it, I brought it out here to get it ready to sale. The Michigan title is CLEAR and in hand - see the pic. All the original pieces from which I've upgraded come with Jeep: Original radiator, front leafs, and valve covers, etc. Also included is a nice cover and a service manual. I have more pictures of the underside of the doors, and pictures of each panel if you'd like to see more. The winner of the this auction is going to love this Wagoneer! |

Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk revived and leaked
Fri, Mar 18 2016We'd love to tell you all about the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk you see here. Thing is, we don't really know all that much. That's because, according to our colleagues at Jalopnik, it hasn't quite been officially unveiled yet. But that's probably right around the corner, now that the cat is out of the bag. From the leaked images, we can tell that this Grand Cherokee Trailhawk is a lot like the Trailhawk that was produced as a special edition for the 2013 model year. Even the graphics look similar. Expect to see some aggressive tires to go along with all the best off-road goodies Jeep has to offer. Throw in some red tow hooks to match the contrasting interior stitching, mix together some underbody protection, and you've probably got yourself a Trailhawk. We'll have to wait until FCA decides to unleash the official goods to know for sure what we're looking at, but we doubt there's a supercharged V8 underhood. We do know that's coming, hopefully soon, but this isn't it. So, while we patiently wait for that Hellcat-powered Trackhawk to make an appearance outside the realm of spy shots, enjoy the Trailhawk you see here. Autoblog's Editors' Picks: Our complete list of the best new vehicles
Mon, May 13 2024It's not easy to earn an “EditorsÂ’ Picks” at Autoblog as part of the rating and review process that every new vehicle goes through. Our editors have been at it a long time, which means weÂ’ve driven and reviewed virtually every new car you can go buy on the dealer lot. There are disagreements, of course, and all vehicles have their strengths and weaknesses, but this list features what we think are the best new vehicles chosen by Autoblog editors. We started this formal review process back in 2018, so there's quite of few of them now. So what does it mean to be an EditorsÂ’ Pick? In short, it means itÂ’s a car that we can highly recommend purchasing. There may be one, multiple, or even zero vehicles in any given segment that we give the green light to. What really matters is that itÂ’s a vehicle that weÂ’d tell a friend or family member to go buy if theyÂ’re considering it, because itÂ’s a very good car. The best way to use this list is is with the navigation links below. Click on a segment, and you'll quickly arrive at the top rated pickup truck or SUV, for example. Use the back button to return to these links and search in another segment, like sedans. If youÂ’ve been keeping up with our monthly series of the latest vehicles to earn EditorsÂ’ Pick status, youÂ’re likely going to be familiar with this list already. If not, welcome to the complete list that weÂ’ll be keeping updated as vehicles enter (and others perhaps exit) the good graces of our editorial team. We rate a new car — giving it a numerical score out of 10 — every time thereÂ’s a significant refresh or if it happens to be an all-new model. Any given vehicle may be impressive on a first drive, but we wait until itÂ’s in the hands of our editors to put it through the same type of testing as every other vehicle that rolls through our test fleet before giving it the EditorsÂ’ Pick badge. This ensures consistency and allows more voices to be heard on each individual model. And just so you donÂ’t think weÂ’ve skipped trims or variants of a model, we hand out the EditorsÂ’ Pick based on the overarching model to keep things consistent. So, when you read that the 3 Series is an EditorsÂ’ Pick, yes, that includes the 330i to the M3 and all the variants in between. If thereÂ’s a particular version of that car we vehemently disagree with, we make sure to call that out.
2016 Jeep Wrangler to ditch solid axles to save weight?
Tue, 29 Oct 2013Hey, Jeep fans. If you think the idea of a funky-looking, car-based Cherokee revival is offensive, have a listen to what might be in store for the next-gen Jeep Wrangler. Automotive News is reporting that as Jeep develops the 2016 Wrangler, weight reduction is a crucial target, and the Wrangler's rugged solid axles could be sacrificed in the name of better fuel economy.
We've already heard the next Wrangler will go on a serious diet using aluminum body panels and an air suspension system, so the idea of a four-wheel independent suspension setup for this OG SUV isn't all that surprising. Besides, it's not like an independent suspension would limit the Wrangler's off-road abilities - just check out the Hummer H1. In fact, it might be the aftermarket parts companies - not Wrangler enthusiasts - who would be most disappointed by such a drastic suspension change, as the article states that the Wrangler's solid axles and coil-link suspension make it the most popular SUV for customization.
There are probably still a couple years before we'll start hearing any concrete details about the 2016 Wrangler, at which time it will be interesting to see how stricter fuel economy and crash safety regulations have been balanced with traditional Wrangler cues like its removable doors and roof and folding windshield. Let us know in the comments below if a Wrangler sans solid axles is any less of a Wrangler.
